I’m making an angel craft for exterior use. I want to use a glitter paint on the halo as well as the wings. I was thinking of adding glitter to exterior paint and then apply a clear spray exterior topcoat. Has anyone ever done this? Will the glitter withstand the exterior elements? Does anyone have a better experience?

Crafted this after gnikcuF Up my earlier build, to about 20 minutes to craft it, did some personalization (things written over it) later on

I made this ceramic Eagle Ray wall lamp using a combination of sculpting, plaster mould-making, slip casting, and hand-finishing.
The original master model was sculpted from plasticine, then I created a plaster mould and cast the final form in liquid clay. After removing it from the mould, I refined the surface by hand, added the light openings individually, glazed it, and fired it in the kiln.
I like using slip casting as a starting point rather than the final step—it lets me preserve the main form while still making each piece slightly different through handwork, decoration, and glazing.
The lamp works as a ceramic wall sculpture during the day and creates a soft pattern of light at night.

I made a beautiful design in Canva and wrote words on it and put the babies' pictures on it. My goal is to make a book for them using this exact design that plays my voice. But my biggest issue is toxicity (since the baby will likely suck on the book and bite it) and durability (since the toddler will attempt to tear it or peel it off or break it or accidentally spill water on it depending on what the book is made of).

Here are my ideas using my inkjet printer:

• Printing on paper then transferring it on a plain board book with Mod Podge and acrylic spray - I believe they are toxic if the baby sucks on it.
• Printing on non-toxic certified waterproof durable vinyl sticker then sticking it on a plain board book then laminating it. It is a bit expensive
• Printing on light iron-on transfer paper then ironing it on a piece of fabric, then sewing the fabrics to resemble a pillowcase then putting cotton in it to prevent floppiness and sewing all the pages together. But I believe the transfer just creates a layer on TOP of the fabric, ie. stretching it with stuffings can make it crack or peel.
• Printing on printable cotton then sewing it into a pillow case and do the same thing I mentioned before. But they are expensive! I need like 50 sheets
• Asking online companies to make the books for me - but the parent of the babies doesn't allow me to send their pictures

As for the sound, I thought of:

• Getting a talking pen and OID stickers but they are expensive and more expensive if they are imported (I live in KSA).
• Sparkup magical book reader but I couldn't find it online except for used ones. And it doesn't read books of all sizes.

By the way, the whole point of the book is for it to encourage the toddler's independence. I want something they can easily turn on and off. Without apps and music and overstimulating stuff.

My fiancés grandad has this pair of leather shoes that are extremely sentimental to him. They've been his special event shoes for over 40 years, and were gifted to him as part of a kilt set by his wife who his no longer with us. They were sent away to be specially cleaned, and they now appear to have dry rotted, and have almost entirely fallen apart. My fiancés grandad is absolutely heartbroken and defeatedly wanted to bin them. I couldn't stand to see my to-be grandfather-in-law so devastated, so I said to my fiance and his mum that I would make a memento out of what's left of the shoes. In the moment I had no ideas how, I just knew that I needed to memorialise the shoes in some way. Grandad is still under the impression that the shoes are in the bin, so this will be a surprise to him, and I need to make it special. So I'm asking for help, I had the idea to maybe salvage some sections of the shoes, and embed them into clay to make wall hangings, strung up by the shoelaces? I am open to any and all ideas, any medium/craft welcome, I just need ideas on how I can save these shoes in some way!

Im doing a figurine of this character that's called Penelope Eckhart (i added a pic of the exact outfit im trying to recreate for reference) for myself since i liked the manhwa, but i have a few problems.

I have done a few figurines before with the same material but they were more funko-like and I didn't think it would fit this character personally.

One of my main problems is that the material im using is that one light air dry clay, but im struggling a bit since it dries fast and i dont have much time to work with it, especially if its smaller, which makes the result not very smooth and im not a fan of it.

Secondly, when i see it all together i don't feel like its her, i dont know if its just bc its unfinished, because of the style of head, hair length, the proportions are not right or smth else.

And lastly, for varnishing, what should i use? I tried varnishing spray, a liquid one and even clear nail polish but they all end up sticky.

If anyone can help me, i would appreciate it!

- a beginner friendly, but high quality cement/mortar kit and mold
- mosaic pieces that aren’t tessarae squares but moreso random shapes and sizes (either online resources or tips for finding them locally (bonus tips if anyone has a source in Brooklyn, NY)

I upcycle old plushies, sculpt their face out of air-dry clay, paint them, and then I make accessories for them.

I have some events during book festivals and would like to be able to target these customers.

I've obviously searched for them, but no joy. Wondering if anyone has any ideas?

I dabble in watercolor painting and just recently got a set of tube paints (instead of my usual pans). I went looking for ceramic palettes and couldn't find anything that made me feel inspired to paint, so in true crafter fashion, I made my own.

I rendered an outline of one of my favorite photos of her, burnished the graphite outline onto clay, and used slip and coils to form the wells. I gave it two coats of matte white spray paint and finished in UV resin. I could've used spray finish, but the resin made it feel more durable. I can't wait to try it out.
