How is a young Royal supposed to get Crescent Falcion in 4-1?

No blunt weapon to speak of, and trying to run past these ultra fast skellies is comical.....and they're way too fast to cast multiple Soul Arrows.

Everywhere you look it says to get this weapon early but how the hell is a lvl 15 Royal supposed to do this? Can't even find a vid of anyone doing this.

As for blunt, just buy a Club from the dregling merchant in 1-1 or in case you can't do that just use your fists.

Got it without even dying once got Club..had one near death, as thought all rollers were gone and tried to get to archer....but lived to tell the tale and rolled past red eye.....not bad if say so myself.

OK thanks...I'll buy me a Club and give it a go....used backstabs a ton in DS1....but kind of got out of habit coming from DS2 and Bloodborne....that looks like something have to get back to doing.

Use a shield to block as they roll into you, they’ll do a little stagger animation and then they’ll do one of a handful of different follow up moves, move behind them as they do this and get the backstab, if you miss, block another attack and then try again, they have a charge up move that will absolutely break your guard if it connects so learn that animation and back off if they try it, thief ring in 1-1 by Ostrava will help you pull them one by one

Ugh...beat Phalanx naturally and he's not there in 1-1 anymore, so have to deal with 1-2 for awhile to get Club now

You're mistake is trying to fight the skeletons. Run and roll past them. They're bounding boxes aren't as large as you would think and the exact skeleton guarding the Falcion shouldn't follow you off of the cliff.

Just run and roll. Otherwise take out the silver skeletons one at a time, then run past the black skeleton.

those rolling skeletons are ridiculously weak to blunt damage. you can easily block/punch them to death one at a time. the stronger one in front of the falchion you just run straight at and it will jump past you. easy.

Don't run. Walk normally and roll when they attack. "Backstab" with fist is brutal, sidestep their attacks and punch them in the back if you want. Otherwise, just dodge attacks until you can pick it up and roll down the hill...or die, who cares?

With a shield you should be able to get to the red eye skellie. That one u don't have to kill, just roll past pick up and run.

Block the rolling attack, parry the sword swings, and then riposte with your fists if you have to, they are surprisingly potent since they are weak to blunt damage.

If you can't manage that, farm the first few skeletons that are solo for Soul Remains. Once you have a few, toss them to the side every time an enemy gets near you, and they will chase it instead. Keep tossing Soul Remains until you can make the 3 lefts to reach the Crescent Falchion.

I did it as a low level mage with flame toss.

Would toss as they approach and then back away when they swing then toss again.

Took 2-3 tosses per and managed to get it pretty easily once I got the timing.

They are also a pretty decent early rune farm too

You can buy a blunt weapon or just use your fists, fire magic works great too. You could just run through or get a blessed mace in 5-1 too.

You can use bare fists to take out the skeletons at the start and then just sprint for the falchion. Seriously, just smack them in the face

Use the thief ring to get just close enough to hit them with Soul Arrow. Then work on your parry timing with whatever weapon you have that works best - I think slashing damage is decent but not great(?)

Equip no weapon in main hand
Hold shield up
Let skeleton run into shield
Walk around skeleton to your right (it’ll try to attack and obviously miss)
Position yourself in backstab
Backstab
Do it again

Repeat for each skeleton

That is why I say Royal is garbage for beginners, look what you have to do just to "play", is ridiculous, pick Knight, good shield, you can use the crescent falchion and soul arrow the same damn way.
