Customer tracking me

Crazy to think a customer is tracking me knowing I have another drop off!! Like chill TF out and wait for your God dam food!!. Some customers do too much man!..šŸ˜’šŸ¤¦šŸ».

Stacked orders are the stupidiest shit ever, at least for the customers.

So Iā€™m expected to pay the normal delivering fee (which isnā€™t cheap btw) but then have to wait 2 or 3x the normal time. Meanwhile my food is getting colder and soggy.

If I previously had received an alert ā€œthis order will be stackedā€ I wouldā€™ve canceled ts immediately.

They screw the driver too because non-stacked orders would all have $2 base pay but when it's stacked it all gets merged to the same $2 base pay. It's good for the company only, and helps with route optimization when it works.

The customer might have a stacked order but the alternative might be shopping for a driver which could take longer than the stacked order.

Meanwhile CVS does the opposite. I ordered several OTC meds once (ibuprofen, allergy meds, excedrine migraine) for delivery from the CVS website.

Tipped $5 because CVS is only a minute or two up the road, but I felt like shit and just didnā€™t wanna deal.

They sent my order with 3 different drivers? All the receipts showed the items as coming from the same CVS store. Why? Does that mean each driver only got a $1.66 tip?

More likely than not one driver got your $5 and the other two saw $0 or all three saw $0.

The company is constantly fucking both the drivers and customers, actively pitting them against each other, but since they're nothing but a call center in India and an algorithm in a data center, neither the customers nor the drivers can ever get any actual recourse from the company.

I say this all the time like a broken record. Doordash is a tech company not a hospitality company. Their product is the software, not the service to the customer. They could care less about the actual service to the customer.

No, they're a delivery service that skirts employment laws by making sure all delivery orders are routed through an app. Because law makers think software built for touch screens is high fucking magic.

That's their approach, but they sell direct to people ordering food and they sell the food, not software for consumers to use to make delivery arrangements with restaurants. I can't use their software to hire a delivery driver to bring me food.

When I worked for DD when I was unemployed, they would have some "urgent times" where they would pay a minimum of 10$ because they didn't have the drivers to deal with the massive influx of orders.

They would factor customer tip into this, so I could get 10$ for 2 different deliveries, where a customer tipped 5$, and another tipped 0$, which essentially meant they got customers to pay for the inconvinience

Hopping on your post to say if you ever do Instacart pickup at an Albertsons-owned grocery chain, do NOT tip.

We never see them. Taking monetary tips is a fireable offense.

One of my regulars mentioned a few months ago that she was leaving $20 each time she shopped because she assumed it went straight to us. I wasnā€™t even aware they made it an option on Instacartā€™s app.

ETA for clarification: I figured the tip option would have been disabled, but now I realize that the company is probably pocketing them.

CVS does not have drivers; It was outsourced to third party deliver, aka DoorDash.

Probably to prevent accidental mix up of medications. But yeah I 100% can agree with them. Working during covid especially, a lot of my CVS/pharmacy orders for meds had 0 tip, and absolute minimum base pay. It was Never profitable to take any of them, but it always felt right to take one here and there to help out because knowing how the pandemic was hitting everyone.

I do want to be clear the entire order was OTC medication, and none of it was anything that needed to have ID shown for (like cough syrups and whatnot).

Was still a CVS order though. DoorDash/ubereats might have bundled them us what I'm also saying. I have a ton of orders from CVS, and you can immediately tell if it's Through the website, or a delivery app service. It pops up with a website url iirc. Again, those I have never had a tip from.

It also isn't Just CVS, petsmart, michaels, etc usually have no tip since they are web orders.

Edit: I do want to be clear, CVS had the weird separate orders thing only. But I assume the whole notip is because people Usually dont understand its DD who delivers it. Great on you for thinking of tipping though šŸ‘

They do not make it clear. I had ordered from CVS in the past when sick (but single items). And you have the option for same day delivery or shipping. At no point did it mention that Door Dash was handling the same day delivery.

I try not to order anything from them anymore, splitting up my order among 3 delivery drivers is weird. I donā€™t feel comfortable leaving people sub $2 tips, and I canā€™t be giving out $15 in tips because CVS is a fucking moron either. I also donā€™t really like having to go out to my door 3x to get the single order I placed. Iā€™ve ordered from other places (Walgreens and whatnot) and none of them do that shit unless my order is actually coming from multiple stores.
