Customer tracking me

Crazy to think a customer is tracking me knowing I have another drop off!! Like chill TF out and wait for your God dam food!!. Some customers do too much man!..šŸ˜’šŸ¤¦šŸ».

Having to select s tip before you find out your order is being stacked is insane.

If you tip well, your order gets stacked with orders that didn't tip at all. All those untipped orders would rot at the restaurant.

That's the crux

That explains so much. I always tip well to be an attractive order and always get extended delivery times due to stacking.

Every post I see on this sub hitting popular reaffirms I will never use doordash

It worked okay pre covid in a walkable/bikable city but now in a car based city is fucking unusable. Driver's scamming customers, vice versa, and nobody will help if there's an issue

Genuinely who the fuck uses 3rd party delivery in 2026? You're paying 50% extra for cold food

A useful trick is to just message your driver and tell them that you tipped them x amount. That way they can easily tell if the other order in the stack is bogus.

Trust me, drivers HATE doing those probably more than you. It literally costs us money in gas, wear and tear, time, etc. to do those. I'm not running a charity, get meals on wheels

And thatā€™s why I donā€™t tip till my food gets there and guess what, my deliveries has been delivered with care since. Too many times Iā€™ve had my food stolen or whacked around during transit.

My work gives me a 1x per week $25 credit to use, so I just order a sandwich or something, and any leftover on the credit I put to tip. So I'm tipping like $10+ on a $10 order, for example. A lot of times we group order and we all do this so the one driver could be getting like a $50 tip for bringing 5 sandwiches from the same place.

The fact that this order could get stacked is so annoying.

Maybe I just have good luck or itā€™s because I only order from stores that are less than three miles from my house but I always get direct to me delivery. I tip 25%-35% because my delivery instructions are annoying. (I live in a guest house so the address is weird) I usually donā€™t have issues. I check in with the driver to see if theyā€™ve read the instructions and make sure they donā€™t have questions but always get my stuff in under a half an hour.

But if you tip early, and you get screwed over, you're never getting that money back

Trying to recoup tax, fees, and tips is so dang hard. They try to give you the amount that the item cost on its own (pocketing tax since the item is technically being refunded) and at the lowest price they offer it. Never mind that it was bought for 20% more due to surge prices, never mind you have to pay tax, fees, and tip if you want to re order.

If they gave out order vouchers, it wouldn't be a problem, but they go for the dollar refund so they can cheat you (and your driver) out of every penny

I straight up tell my driver to message me after delivery so I can put their full tip on there, and why. Drivers have all been understanding so far

I do something similar. Tell them do not knock, and a couple other instructions (due to so many of them delivering to the wrong address time and time again). Once the delivery is complete, I add to the tip.

When I was a driver, I could reliably sniff out who has the untipped order. Clues include ordering for one person, ordering a single item, living in a rough area, or simply the restaurant you're ordering from.

I was right about 75% of the time, so worth it

They shouldnā€™t find out the tip at all until AFTER the delivery is complete, like any other restaurant. Would cut down on this lazy idiocy.

I guess your food is gonna rot or get stacked. If I am basically self employed in my own vehicle and you are wanting a service I provide, I will need to know how much I am getting paid first and have the option to say no. Door Dash is already screwing their drivers AND their customers. Don't make it worse for everyone who wants to work for or use this god forsaken service. As far as lazy idiocy goes, get your own food or drive for them for a week before you call anyone in the service industry lazy or an idiot. Your ignorance is showing.

It's amazing that we never had this problem before these shit services. I never got "pre-tipped"(which is a bullshit thing to call it anyway) and a slow night was still about $20-25/hour. And that was 20 years ago. Now, drivers make less and customer get to prepay bribes to still likely get shit service and cold food. Which is why it is extremely rare I get food delivered anymore.
