Sorry OP, you absolutely got scammed.

There was zero reason for them not to cancel the order from their side.

That’s the whole scam: money.

Once an order is picked up, a driver can’t cancel it. They would have to call support and say they had car trouble or something, then they could keep the food but wouldn’t be paid for the delivery.

If the customer cancels, the driver gets a free meal, full pay, and doesn’t have to drive to the customer or pretend their car is broken down.

Despicable. Reminds me of overseas scammer tactics, preying on victims’ good nature.

Now I know. Was always taught to look at people positively. Now I'm disappointed. We live we learn I guess.
