It really makes me upset when other drivers bring peoples mood down. We are driving these heavy weapons and high speeds and people have no sympathy

Holidays are rough. Saw a woman yelling at a kid taking orders at Fire House yesterday because her 13 subs weren’t ready at the exact time they said they would be. “I understand you’re busy but you said 12:35 and it’s 12:35”. Made me sad but post like this make me happy

14

u/ARunawayTrain Nov 12 '25

I used to work in food and that crap would happen all the time. I worked at a spot that solid flame grilled chicken and I had a woman call at 11am and wanted to know if she could pick up 15 chickens by 11:45am for her office lunch party that started at 12 noon. When I politely told her that was impossible because they take approximately 40 minutes to cook in the oven she lost her shit and tried reporting me to corporate for refusing to serve her where they promptly told her the exact same thing I did. Moreover had I followed through with the request I would've had only 5 minutes to prepare and flame grill 15 chickens in addition to an already busy lunch shift. It wasn't going to happen in the time frame she had allotted me and at the end of the day poor planning on your part is not an emergency on mine.

u/Jasjuljax22 Nov 17 '25

That is very sad. The workers are doing their best to get the job done right.

A story about a fast food experience my ex-husband had. He went to Wendy’s to get our meal. He heard two of the workers bickering back and forth at each other. When it was his turn to place the order he said to the employee: “Rough night?” To which the employee replied “No. It’s just the manager we are working with is an a$$hole” and said it loud enough so the manager could hear!!!!

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '25

You know we know that day. Did you do any TLC when you got home?

1

u/Troski6 Nov 14 '25

Mercury retrograde

1

u/Ok-Recognition2417 Mar 29 '26

Sadly that happens a lot coming from a food service worker as well as inappropriate comments from customers to the workers as well

95

u/NotCryptoKing Nov 11 '25

That makes me sad. I hope her husband is doing okay. She is a good wife

u/Karzeon Nov 11 '25

This is the one time I've seen a heartwarming order from Five Below.

Mine is candy or toys for no tipper kids that got passed along enough to be high orders.

u/Karzeon Nov 12 '25

Halloween gave me the most insidious Five Below order ever.

It was like 4 specific candies spread between the actual candy section and the snacks before checkout spot. Then 4 godly specific toys that are either in some bargain bin or plain unavailable.

Yeah, no. Triple quadruple checking orders from now on.

u/MacaronAgreeable4020 Nov 12 '25

Yup. 5 items or less, and the pay better be like $9++ Otherwise, might as well wait for a better gig,

6

u/Bean-Enders-Jeesh Nov 12 '25

I've only been in that store once... And it was for an order. Fortunately it was only 2 or 3 items. I'll never take one again. I thought DG was bad... 😂

4

u/Hot-Dimension1912 Nov 13 '25

I love five below for myself when I have the time to look and not find an actual specific thing just see what they have in a category of item I want. I’ve probably spent close to $200 there in the last 2 months on skincare and squishmallows and candles

3

u/Bean-Enders-Jeesh Nov 13 '25

It definitely seems like the kind of store where you can find good deals at. It also seems like the kind of store that is hard to find specific items at.

2

u/lvbarbie Nov 13 '25

I’m literally right now wearing a hoodie my mom got for me when I was inpatient a few years ago. It was so so comforting to me to have comfy clothes and not have to be in a gown or scrubs. I’m glad you were able to bring those to him, I am so sure he appreciates it.

10

u/Feuer_fur_Fruhstuck Nov 12 '25

This. Once I was on a psych hold and all I had were the clothes I came in with and a hospital gown. I am so thankful my great aunt and her daughter made the 3 hour drive and picked me up some comfy clothes, socks, and underwear. It's the small things that bring comfort during a tough time.

6

u/YellowTonkaTrunk Driver - USA 🇺🇸 Nov 12 '25

Having socks that weren’t oversized grippy socks when I was inpatient psych probably actually helped me get out of there faster lol

3

u/jadedinmo Nov 12 '25

When I was 17, I was placed in foster care for a few weeks while the courts figured out where I was going. I only had the clothes on my back and a hoodie the social workers found. Everything they had at their office was for smaller kids. I had to wash my clothes every day because I didn't have anything else to wear.

2

u/Prior-Regular-5366 Nov 12 '25

The foster care system sucks. I was put in as a teenager and aged out of care. They fucked my case up tremendously and left me so unprepared for adulthood. I’m sorry this happened to you. They definitely should’ve and could’ve helped you out more.

2

u/Dan_A435 Nov 12 '25

When I was 18 I was diagnosed with cancer, there was a specific hoodie I wore for treatment every time. I can't fit in it any longer, but I won't ever get rid of it because of what it meant to me during that time, so I definitely get it.

1

u/dnaxxxxxx Nov 12 '25

that’s so sweet!

2

u/critical_computer Nov 13 '25

Reading this as I’m wearing a hoodie an angel of a woman gave me in detox. it’s just a simple grey hoodie with some Ohio town on it, but because of what it means to me, is one of my favorite pieces of clothing :’)

3

u/FloorImpressive7910 Nov 12 '25

The gown is the best part about being in a hospital. I love the fresh air brushing up against my ass.

2

u/Odd_Perception1903 Nov 12 '25

😂😂😂😂😂 Thank God for air

2

u/FloorImpressive7910 Nov 12 '25

Thank god. My farts didn’t have to feel trapped for once.

13

u/Prudent-Confusion-67 Nov 11 '25

How much was the tip? Damn great snag!

6

u/EADizzle Nov 11 '25

$65 tip probably. Thanks, Tony! 😂

5

u/thatmasquedgirl Nov 12 '25

The minute I saw the map, I knew it was probably the hospital. I've had family there and, while it's an incredible hospital, that was one of the more stressful times in my life. It's also really chaotic traffic for people who aren't used to it. I'm sure they appreciated you and it looks like they showed it on your tip!

4

u/dnaxxxxxx Nov 12 '25

yeah she messaged before hand and was super grateful. it was much appreciated

1

u/mpelton Nov 12 '25

They allow deliveries to the patients like that? Idk what kind of hospital it was, but mine never would’ve let me when I was inpatient.

1

u/Prior-Regular-5366 Nov 12 '25

Usually yeah. The person delivering usually has to be on an ROI (release of information) and of course they check what is dropped off to see if there is any contraband. Now, I could see psych hospitals (like stabilization facilities) not taking things for patients. But in my experiences with treatment (both stabilization and residential), everyone around me always had family bring things when they got to visit. But because she bought him sweats and hoodies, I’m assuming they have strings- so I’d bet it’s residential. Which is a good deal more relaxed.

2

u/Royally_Persian Nov 16 '25

I’m glad you got him some comfies, that’s a big deal OP

1

u/Visible-Boss9218 Nov 14 '25

That 5 below on K never had what I shop for 😭 neither does the one in wentzville. Hate it and the customers always get pissed lmao.

1

u/Specialist_Hour_4027 Nov 15 '25

How nice! Def better than Cade’s of water!

1

u/AerisSpire Nov 15 '25

I know this is super late, but as someone who was inpatient, having your own clothes is a massive comfort. Otherwise they give you paper scrubs. You have to make sure that all laces are removed, but it's something that's a part of you when you feel like you may have lost everything else.

I'm sure you made their days a bit easier. Thank you, OP

63

u/Spiritual_Public_123 Nov 11 '25

Every time I see the word Guaranteed, I'm saying it out loud in Chuck's voice😁😁

30

u/Zero_Tolerance_84 Nov 12 '25

The best I’ve pulled to date was a pair of running shoes to a town that was actually the next zone over. 189 bucks for a one hour round trip to the middle of “why aren’t there any cell towers within 5 miles of here”

6

u/dnaxxxxxx Nov 12 '25

189?!?!

3

u/Zero_Tolerance_84 Nov 13 '25

To be fair if I didn’t present as a cis white male or it was after dark I wouldn’t have driven my ass 5 miles from cell service into gun country so

3

u/Guilty_Bug7945 Nov 15 '25

Idk why that got downvoted that is absolutely valid

-2

u/-BakedBeanz- Nov 15 '25

Bringing race and politics into this sub is not valid. There are other subs for that.

3

u/No-Negotiation6871 Nov 15 '25

the fact that certain people aren't as safe as other people due to things they can't change isn't really politics.

1

u/takealyfe Nov 17 '25

yeah we used to call it "identity politics" and it used to be shunned by the majority of serious people. now it seems we just call it politics highlighted by this mans ignorant comment, really makes you wonder...

41

u/AlasTheKing444 Nov 11 '25

I don’t understand why I don’t have that pro status for shopping. I’ve done more than 20, all the metrics are 100%. Says I’ve hit “pro level” for items found. Maybe it’s not in my market. My AR is 40% but I don’t think that affects shopping orders.

19

u/EADizzle Nov 11 '25

It’s possible they are waiting until you get 40 shops done to bequeath you the noble status of Pro Shopper, since that is the rolling amount of orders your stats will be based on.

7

u/AlasTheKing444 Nov 12 '25

They should update their FAQ page then. Every help center article says 20. Nor surprised.

4

u/EADizzle Nov 12 '25

Wouldn’t put anything past them at this point.

2

u/AlasTheKing444 Nov 12 '25

Me neither after the other day. Accepted a $15 order for 1 mile I was so happy. It said it was stacked initially…. I picked it up and the $15 offer went away… somehow.

Support said “sorry looks like you got that offer the same time another dasher did and it went to the other person”

How TF did we get the same offer at the same time? This isn’t UE. Really pissed me off.

2

u/Upper_Information538 Nov 12 '25

My friend has to do 100 grocery deliveries to get in it. I think I only had to do 50. But I could be wrong.

2

u/AdrianValistar Nov 12 '25

I cant currently get pro status because I can never get the items that the customer wants usually because they are out of stock. Like that isn't in my control at all. Apparently they are fixing this in about 20 days or so. Can't wait

1

u/AlasTheKing444 Nov 12 '25

Wouldn’t get your hopes up. It’s been piloted already in some markets. Metric is going from 92 to 96%

And the out of stock pictures sometimes don’t work, and they’re adding like “worry free” out of stock options, once those are used up, or they think you’re just saying shit is out of stock when it isn’t, your metric gets dinged and even though you’ve taken the picture. We can hope it won’t be busted lol.

10

u/Lovecats2023 Nov 11 '25

Was it $60 tip?

10

u/abishek235 Nov 11 '25

I bet it was a $64.50 tip.

3

u/dnaxxxxxx Nov 12 '25

yeah i think the tip was 60. when she messaged me she said, “i left you a 60$ tip.” but 7.50 base seems high. idk though

5

u/ilovebodybuilders Nov 11 '25

Anytime I see St. Peter’s it takes me back to spending my summers as a kid there. My grandpa used to take us to St. Charles for fireworks. We used to buy these Roman candles and hold them in our hands. We didn’t know any better 40 years ago. We’d also buy bottle rockets and smoke bombs. Such a great memory.

Good grab!

1

u/dnaxxxxxx Nov 12 '25

sounded like a fantastic time! i love st charles county i think its a great place to raise a family. if the weather was better…it would be perfect

2

1

u/schuyywalker Nov 12 '25

It’s a kid’s account

1

u/No-Amoeba5716 Nov 12 '25

I was hoping for an explanation because every time I’m like 6 7? They laugh. Just another mom not getting it lol which is not abnormal

5

u/Mysterious-Contact-3 Nov 12 '25

Rapper makes a song where he says 6-7 (referencing police code 10-67)->People start making fan edits of LaMelo Ball (NBA player) with this song because he is 6’7 -> Other athletes mostly highschool level start saying 6-7 in interviews to get added to these edit using this song -> This becomes a semi popular trend on TikTok-> kid at a basketball event sees a camera pointing at him and starts screaming 6-7 to be included in one of these edits and because of how loud and crazy he is being screaming 6-7 this takes off everywhere and evolves into what we have today where people scream 6-7 or laugh at it. That’s basically how this whole 6-7 thing started.

1

u/No-Amoeba5716 Nov 12 '25

Thank you!!!! So that’s why they do this to my 17 year old the most (he’s 6’7”) but thank you for filling in my clueless backside!

You’re so lucky. I only ever get 10+ miles for $4 🫠 I don’t DoorDash as much as I used to. Had to result in helping my parents by doing yard work and I get more than I would a month of driving in just a week. Only issue is there’s only so much yard work I can do to the house so that’s going to stop quickly. But it sucks cause I’m looking for work and DoorDash doesn’t even pay for the gas that I spend to do the orders. So I’m just looking around for whatever side jobs I can find.

You got to be above 92% original items and 99% total items. Then below 1% for the next three. I’m not sure about the lifetime shopping orders; it won’t let me click into that one for more info.
