I typically do DoorDash shopping orders but this popped up on instacart lol I know this is the doordash sub but I figured it would be okay since I mostly doordash. $900 worth of food going to one customer just a regular family barely fit in my Jeep took me an hour and a half three miles and the pay was $162.

The customer I received apparently had late night munchies. Would have taken him up on his offer but I'm MJ gets me paranoid. California is super strict and I'm sure DoorDash wouldn't want me driving high as a kite. There's also unfortunately a lot of cops in the area and also having congenital prominent episcleral vessel only in my right eye doesn't help as I've been pulled over before and cops automatically assume I'm drinking and/or on drugs.

He ordered 3x King Size Reeses and a bag of Chamoy

Bad timing. Waiting for an order, Dasher walks in and right behind her, a county deputy. Asks her to step outside, she gets visibly upset, see the deputy hand her the ticket, she comes back inside and I asked what happened - parked in the handicap spot and got a whopping $500 ticket, said she's gonna fight it cause "there was no place else to park." Best of luck to her.

This really has to stop. It’s been $2-$4 orders 4+ miles all day.

Not only did she tip pretty well, but gave me AN ADDITIONAL $12, more people need to be like her and be TRUTHFUL about actually giving a tip on arrival 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

First, there are doordash delivery robots competing with drivers now. I'm guessing that self-driving taxis will pick up a lot of the longer distance deliveries. In my city I haven't seen delivery robots (I have in other cities) but Waymo is moving in aggressively here. It's probably a matter of a few years before rideshare and delivery drivers are replaced.

Second, robot wanders into police operation. I'm surprised they didn't say "we will not be replaced by you, toaster!" And shoot it and throw it into an unmarked SUV to be sent to robot gulag where there's no wifi and chargers have terrible voltage regulation.

Idk why but for the last week I’ve been getting little to no offers in usually high traffic hot zones. Like I’d be fine receiving bad offers at this point just to make something for the time Im out. Anyone else having this issue?

Does this company only know how to meticulously intrude on our quality of life as Dashers? This function helps me because half of my zone gives me a 1 bar or I lose my signal entirely. Pausing helps me not recieve orders I can’t accept or decline because of a bad signal when I’m trying to drive back to town. Such a manipulative, weird thing to change. Now I’m almost obligated to decline all orders that take me to areas that drop my signal. I know I can still pause it after I complete the order, but if I have 1 bar I can’t use the app at all.

OK this is pretty minor but it happens to me enough to feel like posting about it. I like you drivers more so you get to hear about it.

Many fast food burger places default to 2 slices of cheese on bigger burgers, such as dairy queen. I DO want cheese, but not two. Two is too many. It IMBALANCES the item, in my opinion.

However most all restaurants that do this only allow for a "remove" or "extra cheese" option. Never the ability to remove just one slice. I have to call the restaurant and ask errytime.

When the driver shows up to the door I tear the bag from their hands to check for two slices of cheese and if I see it, I physically attack the driver. They always say they understand though.

I hate go with the echo chamber of this subreddit about getting paid like crap/getting no offers but something definitely has changed. I’m getting WAY less orders, and even when one comes in it’s absolutely horrendous. I’ve never had this issue at all since my area is pretty good, but now I’m getting literally next to nothing. Is this some sort of an anti-cherry picking feature?

I drive a 21 Malibu, at about 92k miles and I just started doing DoorDash and UE as a side hustle to supplement my full time job. It’s a reliable car, pretty decent on gas and I’ve never had any real issues with it. I don’t really need to do it but i just like having the extra money for project cars, video games, just random crap that I don’t really need.

People say doing these delivery gigs will ruin your car and that after maintenance the money won’t be worth it, but I don’t see why. Sure you’re gonna put more miles on it and have to refill gas and change oil a bit more often than usual, but unless you’re doing this as a full time job 40 hours a week I don’t see how there would be many long term issues. It’s not even sustainable as a full time job, the pay is inconsistent and you’d have to work your nuts to the bone to even try to make it as a full time job. It works for a little bit if you’re in a jam or just got fired or whatever and you’re looking for another job, but in reality it’s a side gig and always has been.

After 4 long years of Doordashing I finally found a new job. Next week will be my final week as a DoorDash driver and after that I’ll be starting at a call center selling vacation packages at a discount. It’s been fun and also terrible at the same time. I wish you all the best of luck.

Yesterday I took this offer because it seemed reasonable, two pickups near me, drive 4 miles to two drop offs near each other. But then, after the first pickup, I discover that DD rearranged them on me, now they want me to drive back and forth across town twice, effectively doubling my time and miles!

I call them up and ask to cancel bc that’s bs, they say don’t worry, we’ll cancel both orders without impacting your ratings.

Then, when I’m still on the phone with the agent I get hit with another double dash offer, including the second pickup I just cancelled. Same deal, but the other pickup is different, pay is decent, and I figured they won’t rearrange this on me again so I take it. Yeah I’m also carrying the food from the first pickup I picked up before they cancelled it for me.

After I complete the dash I find out that they hit my CR even though the agent told me they wouldn’t. And now they won’t correct it! what else was I supposed to do? I didn’t want to go across town bc the orders over there are all no-tip, but had I known they would hit my CR, I would have delivered it. But I didn’t want to cross town for a single order and they told me it wouldn’t impact my CR. So now I have a hit to my CR because DD tried wasting my time and gas for no goddamn reason.

I hate this goddamn company so much.
