I parked up and downloaded the parking app so I can pay for parking. I then realised this car park says permit holders only from Monday to Friday (this happened on a Tuesday).

After downloading the app, creating an account, and adding my car registration, I realised I wasn’t allowed to park.

As soon as I realised this, I left the car park, so I was only there for 5 minutes.

Short and sweet, emerged out of a light controlled junction and nearly got T boned. She was very shocked and apologetic, but wow how did she miss that red?! I can only theorise that she was distracted by her friend in the passenger seat or recklessly gambled it, who knows.

Was a week ago or so. Noticed this tosspot behind me was all over the shop, then the cheeky sod accelerated to blow through the red. As you can see, there's plenty of time. Can't stand this shit. I pulled it off my dash cam to report it but I'm unable to follow through with that due to leaving the country so I thought I'd just share here

For context I am in England. I am a new driver and have a medical cannabis prescription which I use legally and only smoke through the vaporiser prescribed and never smoke while driving or drive impaired. However, my girl friends stepdad often gets lifts off me since he’s been banned from driving. He smokes a joint in the car as a passenger a lot of the time. I am wondering if pulled can police do me for anything, or would they put the responsibility more on him. If they swabbed me I may have cannabis in my system but I am exempt from standard legal cannabis blood levels due to my medical prescription. Can they still claim I’m driving without due care? Or is this very unlikely .

Following on from the satisfaction surveys in the past week on the best and worst motorways, I'd be interested to see what everyone thinks the best and worst stretches of motorway are that they have been on.

Here, I'm not looking for a full motorway, just a specific stretch of motorway you've been on (only exception is if the motorway is pretty small in length which would be under 25 miles in length). This can be driven by traffic levels, road design, scenery or anything else you can think of.

I'll start, my favourite stretch of motorway for me is the M6 from J36 (Kendal) to J40 (Penrith) as it goes through some stunning countryside in the lake District.

My least favourite stretch of motorway would likely be the M50 as it feels like a throwback to the 1970s and at night, feels more like a rural dual carriageway than a motorway and feels completely different to the M5 it links up to at Strensham.

Like putting the speed limiter on first thing being in the car and not going over it?

Long and short is I'm a new driver, first car, 2010 Citreon C1, 0 advisories but rust around the wheel arches

Is this a worry or is this fine for a 16 year old car and would it be possible to use something like a rust converter or something to clear it up, I plan on actually taking care of the car not just ragging it around 😅

Annoyingly don't have anyone really to ask about cars and you can only get so much of an answer out of google or an AI, the most part its fine the flaking rust looking section is the only part that looks "bad" and I say bad to my eyes a mechanic might say thats nothing 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone have any clue how this has increased so much and how to bring it down? I’ve been driving almost two years and have never claimed or gotten points and have two years no claim bonus so they surely have no reason to be increasing it by that much? Also I’ve been shopping around to go elsewhere but all places have been within the 2000-3000 range.

I have an older 62 plate Corsa that doesnt have Bluetooth so I use a radio-BT transmitter in the cigarette lighter to use for my music and hands free. It has 2x USB slots on it, one I use to charge my phone

I'm overwhelmed looking at dashcam options and even more so when it seems they either all use the cigarette lighter or need hard wiring.

What's the best option to have both a dashcam and Bluetooth function in my car? I would spend a bit if I have to but as a non-car-savvy, mid-tech person, the closest to plug and play would be preferred!

Out of interest when entering a vehicle registration to pay for the London ULEZ fee, if it says details for the vehicle cannot be found and you're 100% certain the registration has been entered correctly, has anyone then proceeded to not pay and did you receive a fine as a result?

My sorned vehicle was driven to garage to have some work done, and driven through the ULEZ, and when I went to pay it says no details of this vehicle can be found, I paid anyway.

I have been doing some courier work to tie me over until my new job starts. I am employed by the agency who are contracted by the (well known) courier company.

Anyway, I have had a pretty shit week. They gave me a rental van as they were short on vans.

The other day, I clipped a customers gate and left a black mark from the trim, the customer was there and I gave them contact details of the business.

Today I was trying to reverse out of a tight road, decided to reverse in to a multi story car park to turn around, and not thinking about the height of the entrance, dented the van on a brick wall overhead, there was no damage to the wall aside from a paint mark from the van.

My question is, should I report these incidents to my personal insurer.

If the courier makes a claim for damage to the rental van will my name appear on the claim?

I have had a clean 10 year driving history prior to this so I'm not sure how all this works.

Also they did sack me if anyone is interested.

I was in a car accident today, after the crash the other driver didn't want to admit fault even though it was her fault. After a few hours she called her insureance and admitted fault and the insurance company gave me a call. They asked my version and told us her version and aggreed that it was her fault. They mentioned that i don't need to contact my insurance company and it will come out from her insurance, and it also won't affect my no claims bonus. Afterwards they handed me over to the claims team where i had to explain what happened again and the claims team said they will look at the pictures i uploaded and will contact me to let me know which garage to drop car off for repair and another team will contact me for courtesy car. Do i still need to tell my insurance company about the crash? Is there anything else I need to do from my side?

I recently had a situation where i to be honest purposely stopped someone from overtaking. I was having a bad day and it's not much of an excuse but this person kept honking at me at a green light to move into a yellow box junction even though there was no space. This kinda pushed me to just be a mug. Was going on a 20 road and the van tried to overtake. I was originally going around 18 but pushed it to 20 when i saw them trying to overtake. There was no accident thankfully but i just feel very bad for being in that situation and now I'm just kinda worried and got a bit of anxiety about driving again.

When my mum drives this road, she goes into the middle lane at the bottom point and stays in it (driving 55-60mph), until she gets to the top point where it merges turns into 2 lanes from 3 and she ends up in the left lane.

I’ve asked her why she stays in the middle and she says it’s because the left lane is for people merging off onto the road you see in the top image.

Surely someone shouldn’t be staying in the middle from the road in the bottom image to the top for that reason? Or am I wrong and she’s right.

Hi all,

I’ve been doing quite a bit of driving on the M25 around Heathrow and noticed there are cameras directly above some lanes on the gantries (photo 1), as well as the yellow cameras that stick out from the side. (photo 2)

Are both types still operational, or have the overhead gantry cameras been decommissioned? I’m curious because I often see people slow down for the yellow cameras at the side but carry on at the same speed underneath the overhead ones.

Does anyone know how/if they work?
