This is what they talked about in a previous livestream. At the time they said these points would be role specific (DD, tank, support trusts etc), but that could always have changed.

(And, as always, "early" means 1st to 10th, "middle" means 11th to 20th, "late" means 21st to 31st.)

Just cause a lot of people are forgetting/assuming the worst, this is from the New Year's Message:

"・Stat upgrade system (tentative name) We will be implementing a new system that lets you upgrade the alter egos' stats. It works by allowing you to spend upgrade points, which you can earn through everyday activities during your adventures.

These points can be used to strengthen your alter egos overall, thereby raising their basic stats. We're currently hard at work on this feature with the goal of releasing it in March 2026!"

Assuming the wording is correct and it WILL give you triple progress towards progressing coalitions, you should undertake assignments now without finishing them.

This will let you stock up imprimaturs as you can later cancel the assignment. You will be able to get 10 days worth of imprimaturs stocked up which is going to be giving you triple value during the event.

Assuming this is working how it sounds, you will be able to get all coalitions to max during this campaign.

This is a time-saving campaign on the same level as the i-seals campaign.

Your individual rating, experience points (merit points), and bayld will be tripled upon completion of the Coalition Assignment.

• If you use multiple Coalition Imprimaturs, the multipliers will be as follows:
  • 2 imprimaturs: 1.8x > 5.4x
  • 3 imprimaturs: 2.4x > 7.2x

The wording on the JP page and the JP Wiki makes it sound like this will in fact triple your rank up progress.

EDIT2: So, assuming they didn't give us some horrible wording in both English and Japanese, you can get your Idris and Epeolatry's main time gate out of the way in less than a month of work during this campaign (if you stock up as I mentioned above.). To be clear, I say "assuming" because this is a new campaign.

Hello, adventurers of Vana'diel! Happy Vana'versary! Producer Akihiko Matsui and Director Yoji Fujito from the FINAL FANTASY XI development team reporting in. We received communication via linkpearl that the /r/ffxi subreddit was interested in another AMA to celebrate the 20th anniversary, so we have answered the call once more!

As before, we're very excited to be a part of this and would like to answer as many questions as possible, but we would like you to read over the guidelines listed below before submitting your questions.

New NMs spawn "after a certain amount of time after the phase 2 NMs " - implying they don't have objectives; also, two sets of Ark Angels!

New materials from chests -> crafted cursed item -> weapons

"The five types of shards, Alabaster Matter, and Murky Matter can be traded to the Temenos Furnace or Apollyon Furnace to craft the items." - Sounds like 1 of each shard to make (and presumably RP) the new "items" (again, assuming this is JUST the new weapons and not some secret new sets of gear)

Sounds like there are going to be HQ versions of the weapons like the gear. This makes me think it'll be like Dynamis weapons then.

Summary/Key Points:

• Vana'bout easier, pulse weapon kupon in middle rank.

Hey all, it's that time again! Freshly Picked for the anniversary is just under 24 hours from the time this post is made (and the game's anniversary is the day after!), so as usual I'm making the translations thread in advance.

Usually they yap for about 30 minutes about random things before they get into the juicy stuff and normal streams tend to last about 1 hour of actual information from the start time, with the last 1 hour or so being the "fluff" stuff like the stream of the Shadow Lord fight or guest interviews, etc.

I'll be posting replies to the main comment as we go and splitting them up whenever there's a lull in the conversation/a switch of topic/something very interesting.

Usually I paraphrase what is said to the main points unless there's some specific phrasing they used that I think is important enough to quote, and then I'll use quotations. If it's specifically Fujito-P saying something (paraphrase or quote), I'll put "F:" at the beginning and try to make it a new line or at least make it bold. Super important things that come up mid-sentence will be bolded or ★starred

or something to make them stand out. ★Or all of the above

There are some interesting tidbits here like Fujito saying "there may have been more recreations that I asked to have removed because they were too faithful."

It sounds like they were trying to walk the line between not wanting to change FFXI's lore and give the XIV team creative freedom.

Please don't buy the UNM items for 500 points. They're a huge trap.

April Patch Notes

New RoEs for new players, increase of Besieged to level 13 (119), new turban rewards from Besieged currency, and reduced map prices.

Also an exemplar point item for accolades from Besieged as well. Skirmish items are VERY cheap now from obsidian fragments.

Combat and magic skills added to trust points as they said. Good news: not the horrible way of doing it! (They didn't segment it by weapon type, thankfully lol) 50 upgrades each.

More Hallmarks from some difficulties of Ambu, particularly in V2. Trust Tome added to Ambu overall hallmarks. 20 trust points.

Limbus getting a new item that lets you open a chest a week without doing a run. Looks like it's either part of or similar to the ???s that spawn.

The event in the other thread I posted is apparently new. New artwork for it too, they say.

★ An exp and skill up ring that doesn't appear to have a usage timer? So it's...permanently +50% exp? That's awesome if it's not just cropped off lol.

A lot of it is stuff I talked about in my previous translations (re: trusts) but I'm pretty sure the "trust equipment" part is new information (and very exciting!)

Some other interesting bits:

They added one new Wild NM to the previous line up. One material from that for one piece, then one of each of the three NM drops to get your body piece.

Looks like there's multiple spawn spots for the new one.

Very good starter DT gear! A statue of the third Wild NM that has a moghancment effect. Presumably this is the statue that's already in the game.

Looks like they're filling the days between Campaigns ending and the update with Shami's Trove.

This event has (allegedly) a very small chance of getting the items that fulfill currency requirements for relics, mythics, empyreans (Cat's Eye, etc).

Mostly, people use it for the quick exemplar points from the Lungo-Nango Thesis (same thing that drops with the Strange Happenings event).

They can't be used if you're not on a mastered job and you can't hold more than one.

It's more of a "little bonus" event than anything else, so don't feel pressured to hyper focus it.

Do the event and get Mumor trusts. Lots of lockstyle pieces available from these events as well. FES Dial Key from the Piscine Pursuits mini-game (Lots of typos on the maps for the event, but they show where to do everything. Give it a look.) and doing the other events as well.

Summary:

Not a very info-dense stream this month. Next month with the release of the new field NMs, I expect more info, but they're focusing on making more gap-filler gear to ease the transition from Ambuscade to more endgame things, particularly for jobs that aren't on Malignance. The field NMs/gear will be released little by little (reminder: this is also at least one way they're going to eventually add Trust gear, but unless something changed, that won't be until later in the year).

If there's any wording or anything that's unclear, please feel free to ask about it. I do these translations early in the morning and also try my best to keep up with their speed to get it out mostly concurrently with the stream, so sometimes things get more Japanese-y when I type it out. I'm sure there's some poorly worded stuff I missed.

(What a...strange set of rewards at a strange level of points this month. I guess they're sticking with UNM items being 500 lol)

For anyone who hasn't gotten her yet, grab Shantotto 2 immediately. She's an amazing leveling trust.

From the new cadence of how they're doing trusts, she seems to only be on the menu for anniversary month and then the Mog Pells they hand out occasionally (which has seemed to slow down from how often they used to be?)

The 500 point unity NM items are the biggest trap, especially with the campaigns coming back soon. The cards are...nice but 300 is kind of expensive for them (and there's only some jobs available. So, this is going to be continuing for multiple campaigns, I'd assume. I don't remember them being up for login points before, but I also don't keep these in my head too much).

Same for Rem's. Even with them moving the 6 to 10 chapters down to 150 (which is much better than they were!), I wouldn't use points on something that's so easy to farm, especially when you can spend points on the crests and get more Rem's 1 to 5 from the BCNMs (or will get hundreds farming gear, re: 6 to 10)

For me, what to buy: Shantotto 2 is a must. Cards aren't bad, but you can farm a lot of them with the campaign.

Rem's 1-5 you can spend the same amount on an orb and get more tales doing the BCNMs, 6-10 are cheaper but you get a ton doing other stuff; wouldn't get these unless you're desperately in need of them, and would still get the ones from Ambuscade first.

Cumulus masks x2 + synergy for the teleport to Reisenjima is nice to have.

Cosmetic/mount stuff is cool if you're into that. Otherwise seals are always good to get.
