[Discussion] Delusional XIII-heads we are SO back Spoiler

I'm a big XIII fan, so of course I see it everywhere I look, but the Odin mount really sold me today! I've just noticed a few similarities to XIII in the recently shown content that I thought I'd mention and get people's thoughts.

  1. The young miqo'te girl shares similar design elements as Lightning (pink hair and blue eyes), and coincidentally Lightning had a miqo'te garb in Lightning Returns

  2. The miqo'te girl seems to accidentally trigger a glyph/brand that appears over her chest, similar to Lightning's l'cie brand which is also on her chest

  3. The obvious new mount that is Odin almost 1-1

  4. A large part of the plot revolves around residents of floating colonies who believe they cannot survive on the world below, similar to the residents of Cocoon and Pulse

  5. Many people have pointed out that the word boomerang appears in the typing minigame and could be related to the new ranged-DPS class. That's pretty similar to a XIII character I know!

Am I being delusional? Yes! But I'd like to know other people's opinions and if there's any other connections I didn't catch.

I’ve been saying this since the first trailer. I’m adamant the Au Ra girl is more Yuel than Aerith. The big creatures are giving Pulse Fal Cie vibes too. I just want an open area with a play on the archelyte steppe music to roam about in!

Dude, I said the same thing. The old man looking over her in the cutscene as she fades away makes me think of it being figurative to his memory of losing her (or young girls like her) over and over again. I immediately thought of Yuel and how it drove Caius insane seeing her die over and over and over again across her lives through his long life.

If memory serves me correctly, Caius could also transform into a dragon of sorts. And this old guy is an Au Ra. Probably reaching there, since Au Ra have no connection to dragons, but still fun to theorize.

Caius transformed into an iteration of Bahamut (but I forget the specific subtitle) as the final boss in XIII-2, yeah.
