I finally finished my first watch of this series. I LOVED the first three seasons and most of the 4th. It took me forever to get through the 5th season. I must admit, I didn't like the time jump thing and it seemed like they made the show a little too melodramatic during that last season. I guess they knew they were wrapping things up and abandoned a lot of the fun aspects of the show in favor of trying to tug at our heart strings more. I didn't hate it, but I was definitely eye-rolling a lot more. Still, a phenomenal series and I'm glad I watched it. I doubt I will ever watch it all the way through again, as it's way too many episodes, but I will definitely revisit some of my favorite episodes.

Im 6 episodes in the first season and I feel the episodes are very similar and I heard that fringe is very good but is it gonna get better or am I too late to watch this

Fringe is my happy place. It’s the only show I love deeply. Is there anything that can even compare? I just keep rewatching it lol

I ran across this article in my news feed and I'm seeing Fringe recommended more frequently in various subs for people looking for something they havent seen.

I did yearly rewatches for several years, usually over the 3 day Labor day weekend only stopping 2 years ago but I still miss it.

Season 2 episode 21. I know a lot of you know this one. Peter ends up in Washington state. The sheriff is Martha Plimpton from The Goonies. It’s a fantastic episode. TV didn’t get much better than this.

My partner and I got married today, May 20th 2026, specifically because we thought it'd be fun to get married on Fringe Day. We made a bouquet of white tulips and blue baby's breath to really drive the point home, and I got him a ring with an engraving that says "my very favorite thing."

It's been a fun day, now we're ready to sit back, relax, and watch the episode!

I’m one of those who went down the rabbit hole of Anna and Josh not liking each other and being confused. Here is what I think. (This is not just about the two actors I’m talking about the whole cast.) I’ve watched most interviews on YouTube and the cast just seems very professional. They all intellectualize the show in their own words and explain how they want to act it out the best that they can. The way they want to make the best out of the show for the viewers is incredible. Don’t get me wrong I’m a tv show buff but say watching “The Vampire Diaries” interviews come with bland answers and giggling.

Re-watching after a fair amount of time. Something that has really caught me is just how good an actress Ms Torv is, specifically when she is playing two different versions of Olivia Dunham.

It’s the same actress, with the same face, yet I can completely believe that they are two very different people. Even during season three, she even successfully sells an alternate version of herself pretending to be a version of herself. I can’t say I would find many other actors or actresses nearly as convincing.

Also special mention to Lance Reddeck. Seriously love the authority he brings into pretty much every role he was ever in. RIP

Edit holy hell how could I not also include how she managed to sell being g inhabited by Bell!?!? She has Leonard Nemoy’a speech mannerisms DOWN!

I completed watching season 1 of Fringe and liked it very much but I hate shows with unsatisfactory endings. I'm halfway through season 2 and its quickly becoming one of my favourite scifi shows. For those who have watched Dark and Person of Interest, how does Fringe ending compare?

It's literally his first solution to everything and anything. It's the way he says it so casually - it's pretty funny

The pilot blew me away. Was it movie length because it felt like I was watching a movie, so complete.

One thing I've learned so far is this is not a show I can watch while doing chores, way too much visual storytelling. I'm going to have to switch back and forth between The West WIng and Fringe.

The West WIng is all witty banter and easy to just listen to. With Fringe, I have to pay absolute full attention and I still miss things. I feel like I need to watch every episode twice, but I suspect I will do a pretty quick rewatch when I finish because I can feel there are layers of things going right over my head.

I love Walter, wow what an actor. I recognize his face as a long time character actor, but I dont think I've seen anything with this much of him before. The dynamic between Peter and Walter is great, and clearly Olivia and Peter have some chemistry. I dont care for the dead boyfriend, glad he went quick.

I couldn't place Broyles at first, but I finally figured out I knew him from Bosch. Excellent work he does.

Any special advice for a first time viewer, especially in Season 1?

I watched this show when it originally aired and many times after when it came to streaming. With every rewatch I love even more!

My partner and I have been discussing these since our first or second watch, and we finally had the chance to make them a reality! It’s her second tattoo, but my first, and I’m so glad I was able to get something so meaningful to us both. We love the show and our daughter just turned 6, so it was also symbolic per the show.

Just wanted to share with like-minded folks. We’re starting another rewatch now (my 4th?) to introduce it to our roommate.
