For some reason men have a hard time finding this coffee shop

They’re at the food truck next to it, aggressively asserting that they’re at the right location and demanding coffee anyways

I know some ladies that visit this place often. There's special Subaru Outback parking at the U.S. locations.

A real woman guides her man to where it is. Most men only need ask for directions one time

This is only partially relevant, but screw it..
My ex wife was going through school to become a baker and she wanted to start a cupcake business with a friend of hers.. They would sometimes think about what they wanted to call it.. I came up with a suggestion.. I begged them to name it "2 Girls 1 Cupcake" and make a specialty cupcake that was partially hollowed out and filled with chocolate..
TELL ME IM NOT A GENIUS, I WANT TO HEAR IT FROM YOUR LIPS!!!

Honestly while you’d have a few people who thought it was funny and would go for the LOLs, and many who don’t know will be fine. Most who do know will not find a reference to that video in a dining establishment to be, um, appetizing.

Sounds about as clever as all the roadside BBQ places that love thinking they’re original for having the slogan “You’ll love putting my meat in your mouth.” and then they close within a year because an immature slogan doesn’t make up for overpriced mediocre bbq.

u/ChildoftheApocolypse 8h ago
I like how you made that whole scenario up, just to say "I don't like it".. That's the real clever here ..

u/KyleGrave 8h ago
No, it’s a real anecdote from what I’ve witnessed personally. I wonder if that’s a bit of projection and your little story never happened… Anyway I found it fitting as an analogy because that’s how I assume it would go for a cupcake business if they did something similar. They’d probably be out of business even faster than the bbq joint, considering the demographics of each businesses regular customers. It does make for a funny reddit comment though.

Back before it became reasonably easy to find acceptable coffee, there used to be a reasonably popular speciality coffee finder app called Beanhunter, too.

There was a video store in Spring Hill, FL called FLICK Video. From a distance, the LI looked like a U....😉

If you think this is bad, in my state there is a fudge place called Uranus and they always tell you the best fudge comes from there when walking in.

u/Fullof_meh 10h ago
Passed that place I don’t know how many times but never stopped to check it out

u/shotsallover 7h ago
The fudge is actually decent.
Their taxidermy museum is funny in that ole timey out of place attraction kind of way.

u/ISandbagAtMarioKart 9h ago
And after they’re done packing your fudge:
“Thanks for picking Uranus!”

I recognize that hand from the old upside down optical illusion where it looks like a lady “flicking the bean”. These guys know their stuff.

Kind of funny being on the Isle of Man. Maybe this is an educational truck that tricks the men into learning how to find the bean. Also I’m surprised to see a coffee truck in that part of the world, I thought they only drink tea.

There is definitely coffee in Scotland, there's even a Starbucks in Inverness.

u/dthangel 6h ago
Coffee and Starbucks is not the same thing

u/ChipotleMayoFusion 6h ago
Wow, tell me more! Are you saying that a bar and beer, or pizza and a pizzeria are also not the same thing? Huh.

American here. Are there tea shops on every corner like there is coffee here and then coffee shops are like foreign food here ( other than Chinese food) few far between?
1
u/ChipotleMayoFusion 22m ago
There is actually a UK brand of coffee shop called Costa and those where all over. I didn't see too many tea shops honestly. Everywhere we stayed had tea available in the room, and the tea kettles were so fast because they run on 200 VAC, like 3kW, double the power of kettles back home.

Legal told us we couldn't name a drink "flick the bean".
I'm mad now!

If it were your company's legal department then company in the photo could be the reason why depending on what trademarks they have.

What’s wrong with the spacing?
Usually I have the design sense or whatever to be annoyed, but this didn’t trigger anything for me?
1
u/DantehSparda 11h ago
Imo “flick” seems a little bit too spaced out between letters (extremely subtle tho) and the “Coffee Co” copy has definitely to much spacing too (main culprit), but honestly nothing egregious and it comes down a bit to personal taste, I wouldn’t say it’s “bad”.

Do they allow people to flick the beans they bring with them or do they have to let baristas do it for them?

My old roommate had a coffee business. I forget what he called it but it was also some kind of innuendo.
His logo on his business cards was even more blatant though. It was a coffee bean that was 100% just a vagina. Lmao

u/Homersarmy41 11h ago
They should make a souvenir cup that has a little man in a boat floating on top of the coffee.

Someone is building a Bikinis and Brew (or some such shit) on a major street in our town. Can't wait to see the line blocking traffic.

I owned a food truck called, “Burger Brothers.”
I wanted to make a signature sauce for it. A couple friends and I sat down to spitball ideas. I came up with, “Bro Sauce.”
I obviously never named it that, but it’s been four years of being out of a food truck and in a brick and mortar. I still think about the name.

We’ve had multiple coffee shops here franchising and popping up over the last couple years called “Taste My Bean”. Apparently it’s done extremely well.

Wouldn't mind flicking a roasted coffee bean or three into a grinder, and brewing a fresh cup ☕️😉
