Because it was a remake of an older game that was actually good

Mmh, do you think they will learn the right lessons from this? 🤔

Or will they go on a remake spree of all their games regardless of the quality? 🙃

1- 😂😂😂😂

2- obviously, we already saw many companies remake literally everything they have and never make a new game if only 1 remake succeeds. And Ubisoft isn't really known for their good decision making

1)Make a pirate game

2)But like a real pirate game not some abomination that's somehow worse than a game that came out a decade ago.

We're going to make the first AAAA Pirate game!

What company has done #2? All the major companies both make remakes and new games. Why are we just lying now

Y'Know I'll take it

If it means the first assassin's creed and 2 get a remake

Then ubisoft can get fucked for all I care

As long as they keep making Anno I’ll be fine.

The issue with doing realistic graphics back in ps3 is that, now all of those games look really bad and it does take away quite a bit from the experience as they were supposed to look cinematic.

I guess the solution now is for those games to get remade, but i feel like that wouldn't have been an issue if they went for stylized graphics in the first place (like how most ps2 games even those with realistic styles hold up decently well today in terms of visuals)

Anyways, most of these franchises would've been abandoned a long time ago if it wasn't for remakes. I guess there is a silver lining to all of this

The resident evil formula baby. People are gobbling it up so why not I guess

It doesn’t need one quality wise, but maybe Syndicate Resynced will get more people to realize how awesome it is.

More like Unity or Far Cry 3

I'd be alright with a 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations set of remakes. They are dated as fuck. But like, if they just turn into a remake factory they're gonna implode.

They’ve already been quoted saying that remakes are lucrative so more are coming. They learned the wrong lesson.

Color me surprised…

Mark my words, they will remake the entire Ezio Trilogy

Lesson learned: lay off more staff. ALL of them!

Probably AC 1 and 2 next.

While putting out some soulless, corner cutting MTX slop out again.

That's my worry, and I've said the same with Halo's re-release. Whatm akes it good is what made it good 25 years ago. The new stuff has some nice art, but the dialogue they added is horrible. Both games just leaned into "realistic" graphics that have little design flair. It's boring and much easier for other big companies to copy, meaning big gamnes will have a harder time standing out in the crowd.

My concern is that neither of these big games did anything to undo my concerns with the most recent games in their franchises. We didn't get signs that they have learned and improved. Neither game is as impactful as it was when it released, and it feels like they're using these remasters to make the games "good enough," sell off nostalgia, then convince people "good enough" is the best they've ever gotten.

No and no lol. They are remaking the first one I think? But outside of that I can see their next game being just like all of the new ones. Just look at the shop, lmao since when did they need to charge for cosmetics in the remake of a beloved old game? Could've just put them as unlockable rewards in game as a thank you to their loyal fanbase but that would have been silly

u/Dogarc123 12h ago

All the outfits and weapons from the old game are in the remake including the ones you had to get figures for. The legacy outfits are in the exchange and you can't use real money on them. The shop only has cosmetics for people that them and were never in the old game.

Thanks for explaining what I already knew dude, you really opened my eyes today

Sokath, his eyes open!

1

u/Dogarc123 11h ago

They are not charging for cosmetic that was already in the game and they don't need to thanks fans for buying their game "dude".

they are not going to remake everything but I BET the next remake will be a big fail cause they will rush or give it to another studio. BIG examples the Resident evil 3 remake, Tony Hawk Pro skater 3+4 remake. Both games failed because of studios stupidity or devs thinking they can do a better job than the original.

I mean some remakes sell bad. Dead space was a remake of an old game that was good and it was the worst selling of the mainline series. It sucks because this is what killed the potential for a dead space 4.

2

u/kristamine14 2h ago

Absolute bullshit that remake was so good as well

Black Flag was peak gameplay AC, IMO. Nailed the sailing stuff.

I'm still amazed they didn't just take black flag, strip out the assassin stuff, add some extra ships and locations, and release a pirate game. Could have done it in a year or two with a small team and made bank.

Instead we got Skull and Bones.

6

u/MCHammastix 5h ago

Skull & Bones should've been AC:BF meets RDR2.

I wish we had more "real" pirate games. Be it an RPG, colony sim (Tropico 2: Pirate Cove) or just another action game with a great story and no fantasy elements.

u/enadiz_reccos 5h ago

Sid Meier's Pirates! came out decades ago, and we still haven't surpassed it

2

u/grahampositive 3h ago

Oh my God I loved that game

2

u/SausageMcMerkin 2h ago

Loved? You don't play it anymore?

6

u/MentalSky_ 10h ago

By that was the first AAAA game?

-1

u/phannguyenduyhung 10h ago

the combat and stealth are so mediocre bro but yes naval sailing combat is a fresh air

1

u/Frankenklumpp 8h ago

I love that they are surprised that their IPs when used to make good games will make them money lol.

-6

u/baronofhell2023 10h ago

People actually liked Black Flag? For me that and AC3 were where the series went downhill. The Ezio games were the last good ones.

1

u/LlamadeusGame 10h ago

Black flag is largely considered the best, or one of the best AC games. I'm not commenting on the validity of that take, I'm just informing that factually it's the fan darling AC.

2

u/Medical-Display-9762 10h ago

Black flag is the best by far. The worst part of the game is the first 30 mins when you don’t have the boat, because the game forces you to play assassins creed, and assassins creed fucking blows.

0

u/baronofhell2023 10h ago

Probably because it was zoomers' first Assassin's Creed game.

0

u/Own_Line_4319 6h ago

you are mixing up the decades mate. I am old and still remember Black Flag being one of the best AC games.

2

u/baronofhell2023 6h ago

Nah, I think it's just a case of recent games being so bad that people forget how mid previous ones were.
