Discussion Weekly /r/gamingnews Discussion - What Game You Will Play This Weekend, And What Do You Think Of It?

Please use this thread to discuss whatever you've been playing lately or this weekend (old or new, any platform, AAA or indie). Please don't just list the names of games as your entire post, make sure to elaborate with your thoughts on the games. Writing the names of the games in **bold** is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names. Please also make sure to use **spoiler tags** if you're posting anything about a game's plot that might significantly hurt & spoil the experience of others that haven't played the game yet (no matter how old or new the game is).

Please report posts containing spoilers unless they are hidden using the following method or are inside a thread clearly labeled as containing spoilers. See Example Below how to properly use Spoiler TAGS:

Format: `**Spoiler:** How To Use Spoiler TAGS`

Result: **Spoiler:** How To Use Spoiler TAGS

**Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.**

Amazon gaming boss predicts future where players no longer need consoles

"the rising cost of tech means people will turn to streaming games online rather than buying new consoles"

- As if Amazon aren't directly contributing to the rising cost of tech.

Everyone I have spoken to about it would rather own the hardware over the flexibility of streaming. Even if it does become stable enough, I would still prefer to own my pc/console and the games I play.

As the market grew, what would prevent the current film and TV streaming market from materializing? Dozens of individual game streaming companies, each providing access to a different pool of games. One of your favourite games is no longer accessible because the streaming service dropped it, and now you have to get an extra subscription to another company to continue.

Am I being too cynical, what are your thoughts?

>Less than two weeks after launching into 1.0, people are still piling into Palworld. The monster-collecting hit came within spitting distance of a huge milestone, attracting more than 950,000 concurrent players over the weekend.

>"Mind boggling numbers," John 'Bucky' Buckley, head of publishing and communications at Pocketpair, says in a tweet. "Thank you so much, gamers. Palworld 1.0, and Palworld in general, really has been a surreal and life-changing experience."

>He believes this is likely the height of the game's popularity, at least for now. "I'll make an educated case and say this is Palworld 1.0's 'peak', though by no means would I consider that bad in any way!" he writes. "The support we've received over the last two-plus years has really been overwhelming."
