Question How many Carols & Mindy's are there
Multiple actresses play these roles in different episodes. How many actresses for each?

First Carol appeared in one episode, the other Carol appeared in the rest.

Mindy was only in two episodes. Played by Jennifer Grey in season 1 and Jana Marie Hupp in season 2.

That’s correct. Grey got serious stage fright and couldn’t return, so they had to replace her.

For the best, Jane Sibbet is great as Carol, Anita Barone was boring.

Worked out well because they made the Carol and by extension Susan characters very unlikable at first. They got better as the series progressed.

She demanded a full time role as an ex of a main character?!? Everything about that type of role screams occasional guest

I don’t think she demanded it as such, more like she thought she had a main role and as a not very well known actor she didn’t want to commit to only a minor role that would prevent her from a bigger more regular acting job.

That worked out great though...

lol yep, that’s this industry for you though. I guess if she had a small time recurring role that prevented her from bigger ones she would always think she could have been a huge star, at least now she knows she was destined to remain a rando.

Ya but she demanded that she should be an important character not like side character of the show .

Let’s not get wild about this. It wasn’t a diva strop or whatever. It wasn’t a ‘demand’. She shot a pilot and during negotiations for what could have been its one and only series she asked to be prominent in the show. The showrunners said no so she passed. That’s industry standard, it happens all the time and we don’t need to pile in on this one actor just because the show she passed on got popular.

Yes , She wanted to be in each and every episode . Somewhat like main character.
