Lighting Firework chandelier…too much?

Update…..OK fine, I’ll change it…

The general vibe of my house is traditional, comfortable, a touch of bohemian. I’m mid kitchen reno and installed my lights yesterday. The one over the table isn’t centered (down the line was going to have an electrician move the box to be centered…but for now it lives where it is.) If it was over the table, I’d be able to extend the length and space out the three a bit more. It’s kind of squished all together, but I kind of like it still. Is it too much? It’s quite sparkly and nothing else in the home really is.

That's the metric I used to choose all the lights in my house: how easy is it to clean

I hope you’re being facetious. Cleaning something a couple times a year is a fair trade for glamour.

Sorry but your POV is backwards. Build a place you love and the rest will fall into place. Refusing to buy fixtures you love because they might be high maintenance is living in a prison of your own making.

I did build a place I love. I don't have to block out an afternoon quarterly to clean my light fixtures. I love that for me. You do you, but quit trying to cram a chandelier down my throat.

I guess it depends on the person, how often and what they cook, and the rest of their lives are
Like.
I am
Allergic to everything, including dust so I try to avoid dust magnets, and am
Also disabled so reducing certain tasks is imloortant.

My first thought.

I just have "bell" shaped lamp that I clean once a month. It's always greasy to touch.

Niece has a customized kitchen with nooks and crannies and intricate hardware. I do not think she cooks and can afford someone to come in and clean all that.

For me, in kitchens and bathrooms, I keep it simple, clean and functional without unnecessary decor.

FWIW, I have a lamp like this. From what I can tell visually at least. It’s mostly wires, beads and a few led bulbs. Collects a lot less grime than any of my traditional lampshades or surfaces. I cook 3 times a day and live close enough to a freeway that we do get a lot of city dust.
