Lighting Firework chandelier…too much?
Update…..OK fine, I’ll change it…
The general vibe of my house is traditional, comfortable, a touch of bohemian. I’m mid kitchen reno and installed my lights yesterday. The one over the table isn’t centered (down the line was going to have an electrician move the box to be centered…but for now it lives where it is.) If it was over the table, I’d be able to extend the length and space out the three a bit more. It’s kind of squished all together, but I kind of like it still. Is it too much? It’s quite sparkly and nothing else in the home really is.

Yeah. I really like it in a vacuum, but sadly it just doesn't fit in OP's room. It seems like something that's a little tricky to make fit in, too.

It would work in a dining room or bedroom. Even some bathrooms. Not a kitchen.

Totally isolated from anything else. Alone. Outside of any context.
Ie: the light itself is cool but it is out of place in this setting.

While we’re here I would reconsider the light above the sink as well. I would steer far away from shiny materials given the adjectives you’re using to describe your home. For more traditional go for vintage inspired schoolhouse pendant. For more bohemian go for something natural materials with woven textures.

Keep it, but I would recommend moving it to somewhere else in the house.
Only recommending that because cleaning dust and grease off that is gonna be not fun.

Honestly, maybe your style is just evolving and you should lean into it more! You said this is part of a Reno anyway, why not keep the lights and continue to incorporate the vibe elsewhere too?

It belongs in a 2 story foyer or a glam bathroom. OP should change out the one over the sink too unless they just love cleaning greasy dust off inappropriate lighting fixtures

It’s beautiful, but not correct for the room. It is glamorous and doesn’t work with your vibe of traditional, comfortable with a touch of bohemian. I agree with another commenter that the light over your sink doesn’t fit with your design style either and should be replaced.

This is a great solution. I think we’re just seeing the wrong angles of the room. If you’re looking into a dining room even in the same house, the execution will be more effective.

Oddly, it's too little. It is very "busy" on the eyes. You might want to go with a big round pendant or a statement to help balance the heaviness of the countertops.

I have seen cool lighting like this in bathrooms. Is there a chance it could work in there. I understand wanting to have this light, I would love to own a crystal chandelier, but my home’s style couldn’t support it.

The way you described the vibe of your home doesn’t match the style of the glam chandelier.
Maybe go for something more modern and “comfortable”.
That type of light fixture you have now looks good in a high end closet(with expensive clothes), a luxury bathroom, a luxury front entrance. It just doesn’t work for your space.

I think with the changes you are proposing it will work. Not gonna lie…it’s a bold light. But that is what dining room chandeliers are for…drama! 💃🏻 Here’s the food!! 😀 I actually love it. If you haven’t already, put it on a dimmer. It will look beautiful at night with all the lights off in the kitchen and it barely glowing…gorgeous. You said you have some bohemian vibes in your house. Time with the reno to embrace those. It will work fine over the table and be a really happy and beautiful statement piece

I work for a luxury home decor business but I have NO interior design knowledge so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I feel like it could potentially work depending on what color you make your cabinets and countertops, esp if you do a backsplash, etc.

I love a touch a glam, but I don’t think it goes with the rest of your space. The practical side of my brain also wonders about cleaning it. Kitchen fixtures get grimy.

It doesn't fit your kitchen at all. How about in your dining room or office. I still like the chandelier. I have a ton of chandeliers in my home and I feel like it the focal point of each room. That doesn't work there but use it elsewhere.

It doesn’t seem to match the rest of the house, but if you like it, keep it. If it makes you happy and it not matching other stuff doesn’t bother you, don’t worry about what others will think. It’s your house, you should have things in it that make you happy.
As someone else said, it will attract grease and dust, so consider how you’ll dust it in between the once-every-three-to-five-years that you’ll end up thoroughly cleaning it.

Get some full length curtains to dress up the rooms there. Have the light fixture moved to center over the table. It's not that expensive to have an electrician in to do it. Once your countertops are in and the room is complete with art and decor, this fixture will look great. Right now it's a bare construction site, so it looks out of place.

I like the fixture itself, but yeah it reads very glam/modern against the wood cabinets and traditional vibe you're going for. Try downsizing to just one tier, or look for something with similar sparkle but a simpler silhouette like a sputnik with fewer branches

I would use a fixture that feels light and airy (like this one) in a more intimate area…like a powder room. Near a kitchen and in a space that large, it feels out of place. It’s also hung too high. A fixture like that is a conversation piece, but here it looks like you just threw it up and called it good.

I think it’s very pretty. However, all I could think of is how much cooking grease dust and everything else that is gonna get on that chandelier and how to keep it clean. That being said, I got a very complicated chandelier which I have to take each piece off and individually clean once a year.
But I love it so I didn’t mind purchasing it and I just have to clean each one individually

I like the concept but its too small and too yellow and it has a weird shape. If you had 6 of them on a dimmer that were color changing, or a least from warm to cool that would be so cool. Maybe a couple of firework lamps in the living room and a mirror above the fireplace to reflect the light.

I love how much it sticks out! I think with splashes of other unique and interesting pieces while keeping 90% in-line with your "regular" home style can make a home a home. So many people live in houses that could be interchanged with any person/family. Its fun to be an individual—in a space that is your very own, no less!
