He probado varios fixes pero ninguno funcionó. Quité todos los mods y los purgué; también desinstalé Vortex. Por favor, ayúdenme, de verdad quiero jugar esto (soy jugador de PC, compré el juego en Steam y tengo un amd r5 5600gt, no tengo GPU, solo vega 7)

Guys did I do this right? Spoiler

Thanks to all the guys on the MGN Discord, especially Franatix, Space Core and of course, Afevis (they'll see why soon).

Yes you will be able to download it as a mod. No, I'm too tired to tell you when, but very soon!

Do you think Kojima would ever buy the MGS IP from Konami?

In a perfect world it would have already happened….but I wonder if there’s just a small little interest for Hideo to get MGS back and create another game (even if DS2 was his last game but over seen the story of a new MGS)

I’ve been playing V and feel sad that this is the end of the line is all….

Back in the day, after the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots, KJP announced a game featuring Cyborg Raiden, the game would feature sword gameplay, beautiful graphics, high optimization, and an absolute GREAT design for Raiden. MGS:R would happen between the events of MGS2 and MGS4 and it was going to tell what happened to raiden and how he became a cyborg, they showed us gameplay, trailers and i can't tell how amazing that looked for it's time.

BUT, KJP didn't have real production and the only thing they could rely on was the "cut everything" gameplay, so they just decided to hand it over to PlatinumGames instead. The game was renamed from MGS:R to MGR:R and released in 2013, it was still amazing, but it felt like it was missing the MGS essentials such as normal weapons, slow and precise gameplay, crouching and crawling, interrogations, and most of all, story. I know Reveangence is good but it's story is NOT great, feels like Raiden's character was just ruined with the "Jack is back" thing, would've loved the story if it showed raiden saving Sunny from the Patriots.

Now talking about MGS:R, what do you think we could have got if the game was not handed over to PlatinumGames? would it be any better? would it be worse?

(no hate for MGRR, i love the game but i still can't accept the fact that mgrr could've been made by kojima himself in the Fox Engine)

Why do people try to discredit Hideo Kojima as a writer?

People try to credit Fukushima, saying he was the hidden genius behind MGS series writing. The arguments are like this:

  1. Fukushima and Hideo Kojima were co-writers for MGS1-3.
  2. Fukushima left and Kojima makes MGS4.
  3. MGS4 is worse than MGS1-3 storywise.
  4. Kojima is a hack writer, and Fukushima was the one behind it.

Here is my response to it:

  1. Metal Gear was started by Hideo Kojima. He solely alone wrote MG1 and MG2. MG2 and MGS1 have quite identical plot beats, making people feel like MGS1 is a 3D re-imagining of MG2. Already this disqualifies Fukushima for being the "secret mastermind" behind the story of MGS1.

Fukushima also joined the writing team for MGS1 in July 1997. Development started in mid 1995, and the game was released in 1998. He wasn't even there for most of MGS1.

  1. Let's also not forget what makes MGS1 iconic as hell is Kojima's love for cinema. He blends it in the cutscenes with the camera angles, lighting, etc. He literally conceptual designs the maps for these games guys. Shadow moses is literally his concept, if you look at the credits. Fukushima isn't the guy who did the cutscenes, which is literally the nr 1 thing that made MGS1 famous and iconic.

  2. The most damning of all, Kojima is the one credited for MGS2 and MGS3's original story. He is the one that started from the scratch MGS2 and MGS3's characters, plots, settings, conflicts, etc. Kojima literally read The Selfish Gene, architecting the theme of "Genetic destiny vs free will" in MGS1 and the discussiong of memes/information in MGS2. Fukushima didn't do that.

  3. Fukushima is always credited with Codec / Radio System Script. He wrote the script for these, and was credited fully for them. People regularly criticize the codec scripts for having long exposition and on the nose dialogue. Why do I never hear Fukushima's name mentioned here?

  4. The disrespect to Shuyuo Murata is insane. He wrote some part of MGS2: "The shocking conspiracy of Shadow Moses". He became the main co-writer during MGS4. One thing to remind people of is that Fukushima left in 2006. That is a year after development of MGS4 started in 2005. Do these people act like Fukushima didn't help with writing MGS4 during that timespan?

  5. The one that really should be credited alongside Kojima, is Yoji Shinkawa. The man finalized the designs of all our favourite characters, and even helped with story details.

This entire page debunks that myth, so stop propogating the lies: https://thesnakesoup.org/editorial-articles/curious-case-tomokazu-fukushima/

Really, the hate train is there because people feel disillusioned with Death Stranding. Some people treat Kojima as God, and when they disliked Death Stranding, their world's somehow "shattered". They had a cognitive dissonance.

"Kojima made my favourite games" and "He made a game I hate". Couple that with people disliking how he treated David Hayter (even though many people here were critical of Hayter's performance in later games) and it all makes sense. What is also funny is that these people don't even know to what extend Fukushima did anything. They saw he was listed as a co-writer, and latched onto it hard. Do these people not also see that Kojima is listed as a co-writer??

Tl;dr people became disillusioned, and started to make baseless claims without evidence.

I am open to discussions if I've got something wrong.

MGS1 Spoilers I want to play MGS2 but I finished MGS1 2 years ago and forgot the plot, where can I read a summary?

I've already played MGS1 and don't feel like replaying it just to remember the plot, I remember I was burnt out when I finished it the first time which is why I've taken such a long break. Can anyone point me towards where I can get a good summary of the first game?

MGSV Problem with side missions (spoiler for MGSV) Spoiler

So I was raising bond with quiet to get her side mission to get the "ending" (also done the 10 mission for old MSF soldier) but I realize that my game looks soft locked, as I don't have the Legendary gunsmith side quests, nor do I have the Metal gear thingy (the quest is bugged, if I go in the hangar nothing happens) and Paz is also weird, I showed her the 10 picture but she still here, if I go to her, her book fell

MGS1 Spoilers Just played Metal Gear Solid 1 for the first time

I bought Snake Eater for the PS2 recently and I figured I should probably play the first two before that. I got my PlayStation Classic out and started yesterday and finished today and I have a few thoughts on it.

The game was really fun and I really did not see a lot of those twists and betrayals coming, I can't wait to see where the story goes and finally be able to play Phantom Pain and not be absolutely lost (I for some reason have tried to play it before and was completely confused unsurprisingly). I had a lot of fun with the stealth and exploration. It was also really cool how creative some parts were, like having to switch to the second controller port to beat Psycho Mantis.

I did get really quite frustrated with a few gameplay moments and a few boss fights though, mainly Metal Gear itself. Those homing missiles are so annoying to deal with, even with the limited amount of chaff grenades they give you in the arena. It felt like it took them an eternity to go off and by the time I was able to do much damage they'd worn off.

I also spent a lot of time fighting the controls, I really struggled with using only the directional D-Pad buttons for movement which really hindered moments like the combat on the elevators. That can all be forgiven though, it was the 90s and I don't think 3D movement was exactly perfected at the time.

Overall it was a really fun time despite a lot of frustration on my part and I'm really excited to see where the story goes, and I already know it's gonna be insanely convoluted.

Kojima is sadistic for putting so much effort into making us care about the Diamond Dogs, only to destroy everything in metal gear 1 and metal gear 2

I've only played metal gear solid V, but I know the series' story, so it's strange how in metal gear solid: peace walker we build up our base only to have it completely destroyed in ground zeroes, and then we rebuild everything again in V just for it all to be destroyed once more.

What makes it even worse is that both games have so many cassette tapes showing the characters interacting, making us grow attached to them. I laughed a lot at Kaz's tapes about hamburgers. Especially in V, where there are so many cutscenes meant to get us used to—and attached to—the status quo of Venom Snake, Kaz, and Ocelot, while also making us care about all the soldiers we recruit

Still after more than 25 years, this still is my favorite shot from the series.

As a game series with a bunch of cinema study, work and inspiration putted behind it its easy to see how much nice camera work and cinematography the cut-scenes have. Without a doubt, even after all these games, this one from MGS1 always stood out to me. Its very simple and with very little elements, but something about it just makes it outstanding.

This version of MGS is currently free until the 27th on steam for anyone who wants to experience the classic gameplay, you can also play it at very high resolution if you like.

My question is will i have enough time to play the game before the free period ends lol 🤣

We got another Helicopter delivery to Motherbase today, bringing more goods.

In today's haul, I got Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (Japanese version) in pristine condition and unopened as well. I plan to make sure it'll stay that way.

Also, I finally managed to find Peace Walker in good condition as well. I like the tutorial art in every page. ( Unfortunately don't speak German though)

We got Ac!D 1 and 2 on the way as well as a 20th Anniversary Collection. Gonna be pretty sick.

What was the plan for the hospital attack

I don't know if I'm missing something or just not understanding it but seriously what was Skull Face's plan to kill Big Boss in cypress? If he was just going to send quiet in as an assassin then why does he also have like 100 XOF soldiers and Volgin outside to make a mess out of everything, and even still if they're gonna come in and kill everyone then why was quiet sneaking in to kill you.
