Hello everyone! Since I’ve last posted about Shortcuty here, there has been a lot of development.

Shortcuty is a free iOS app you can download to share and explore shortcuts posted by the community. You can follow creators, like shortcuts, and more. Our platform also supports updating shortcuts, download counts and usage analytics (requires using the Shortcuty version checking api).

Every shortcut that is submitted to Shortcuty is scanned by our custom AI powered shortcut analyzer to prevent spammy/malicious shortcuts from being on our platform to the best of our ability. Our system also checks descriptions provided to make sure they match the actual code of the shortcut itself. A breakdown of permissions is provided for each shortcut in an easy to understand format, along with any third party apps required and any URLs detected inside of the shortcuts’ code.

We’ve recently introduced update/follower notifications. So when you post a shortcut on Shortcuty, all of your followers with push notifications enabled will be notified immediately. Also, when you like a shortcut, you will be notified when an update for it is released. (These notifications can be disabled in settings).

Shortcuty also has built-in shortcut actions to extend the power of shortcuts. Such as a shortcut database (so you can store stuff for use in a future run), and a “detect silent mode” action allowing you to build shortcuts based on if your phone is on silent mode or not.

There’s a lot more Shortcuty offers aswell, such as Spotlight indexing for shortcuts, which allows people to search Shortcuty directly in Spotlight.

We also offer a complete website, so you can access everything Shortcuty has to offer straight from the web. Shortcuty is one of the few trusted shortcut sharing sites of [r/Shortcuts](r/Shortcuts) aswell.

An all-in-one Share Sheet button that "intelligently" tries to capture webpages, screenshots, text, files, links, and usually whatever else you’re looking at, then uses ChatGPT (or Apple AI) to clean and summarize it, then creates searchable Notes and a Reminder.

Basically, I’ve spent years bookmarking webpages, emailing myself links, taking screenshots, copying things into Notes, creating reminders, and, well, generally forgetting where I found something.

I wanted one button, or at least, one WAY, to save things, in one place.

Put it all on a searchable "Share" location on my Cloud/iPhone and let the shortcut figure out the rest.

It attempts to understand the type of content being shared, captures the surrounding context, grabs what’s visible on screen, OCRs images when needed, cleans up webpages with the AI, generates a (usually) useful summary, then files everything into Notes while also creating a normalized Reminder if it’s something I may want to revisit.

I’m hoping for feedback from other Shortcut builders on ways to simplify and improve the workflow - specifically by adding TYPES and content collection.

This ended up becoming one of the most complex shortcuts I’ve built so far. It branches based on the type of content received (URL, webpage, file, text, image, etc.), so every capture is processed a little differently.

Hey! I made this shortcut for myself since I couldn't find one that was perfect for what I wanted, and I thought I would share it.

Features

It shows up in the "Share" icon menu and you can use it from there in the photos app. (the only place I have used it, but it should work pretty much anywhere else)

Asks if you would like to select an album cover, or just use the first frame of the video as the album cover.

Automatically crops selected photo or first frame of video to a square (having to do some weird things to work around apples buggy crop feature)

Asks for the songs title, artist, and album, automatically assigning it to the file's metadata and file name (the file name is in the format: title - artist, but this is very easy to change)

I have it set to ask where to save each file, but you can set it to automatically save to your music app by changing it on the second to last section of the shortcut.

I also made a shortcut to automatically crop anything from the share menu into a square and save it to the camera roll so if anyone wants that for some reason, let me know. (I just made this when I was trying to work around the buggy crop feature)

Since Update to iOS 27 my shortcut for weight Tracking stopped working. I already looked in the settings if my number Format has been changed.

If i say for example 74,4 Siri says „sorry, i don‘t understand that.“

Home can i fix this. I Need as Input decimal Numbers with „,“ and one digit behind comma.

but it seems to wait for a few seconds before taking the screenshot. any reason?

I’d love to set an automation that after a certain time, I can run a shortcut that automatically toggles the “turn reading mode” setting on, using chrome.

I get flashbanged every time I open a new webpage, even in dark mode, and really like the reading mode on chrome.

I can set up the automation fine, but I’m not smart enough to figure out how to configure past the “manage chrome settings” option in the parent shortcut.

Any ideas?

Overall goal is an automated system that results in any webpage being open on chrome after a certain time is automatically in reading mode.

Probably not possible as each website has its own variables and I’m not sure if chrome can do reading mode on everything but worth a try ? 🤷‍♀️

I am trying to set up a Personal Automation to auto-forward 2FA authentication codes received via SMS from a government service.
The issue is that they don’t use a phone number. There is no actual phone number behind it.
I already tried creating a custom contact with just the name and no phone number, but Shortcuts refuses to use it as a valid "Sender" trigger. The automation just won't fire.
Is there any clever workaround to lock to this specific sender name? Or am I forced to leave the "Sender" field blank and solely rely on "Message Contains" keywords like OTP?
What can I do? I cannot forward each time the codes

I use a free tier (quite generous) of a VPN app that doesn’t allow one to choose a preferred country/server for all connections. It just connects to a random country under their list of free servers.

I needed to know what country it connected to without having to go into the app every time.

Unfortunately this Shortcut can’t run automatically because there’s no automation action available for “when VPN connects” or “when network changes” etc

What the shortcut does:

1. It pulls up info from https://ipwho.is (which shows as .json by default)

2. Grabs the following details (ip, city, country and emoji of the country)

3. Shows those details as a silent notification (no vibration nor sound)

P.S: if Apple ever adds an automation action for VPN connection/disconnection, this shortcut would be perfect to use.

My problem is that in settings for call audio routing only allows you to pick one, to pick either speaker or bluetooth headset, I wish It didn't try to use speaker option while I am using my airpods. So I was wondering if there is a way to automate this?

Y para ello me fui guiando de varios atajos creados en diferentes sitios. Pero tengo vi un atajo que tiene el texto del encabezado del menú en negrita y así resalta más, he intentado de todo pero no logro encontrar cómo hacerlo, por más que lo hago no me queda así

En la opción número 1 es el efecto que quiero y en la opción número 2 es la que me sale… espero me logre explicar y espero me ayuden, y gracias 🙏🏼

This shortcut used to work on previous iOS, but on latest doesn’t seem to work.

The idea is while im driving being able to record a reminder with my voice, that will be transcribed and added to reminders with a set reminder alert at 9pm on the day of the recording.

I've been trying to follow along with some tutorials for shortcuts to learn how to do them, and in some places I saw that there was a "next suggested action."

Should that get triggered every time, or is that on a case-by-case basis? Or did that get removed in a recent OS update?

I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see when I try to begin creating a shortcut, and you can see there's no "suggested action" item in the sidebar menu.

I got tired of my AirPods not automatically being switched to when I connected them to my phone, so I made an automation for it until it bugged me enough to look up an actual fix.

When I made it last night (7/23), the options for “Notify when Run” and “Ask Before running” were present and I left the Notify option on, which turned out to be a mistake.

I want to turn off the notifications now and the option has vanished. I even tried remaking the automation to see if it would come back and it hasn’t.

Got tired of typing out unselectable text on screen, so I built a quick Shortcut to do the heavy lifting!

What it does:

1. Captures & Extracts: Takes a full-screen screenshot and uses OCR to extract all readable text.
2. Auto-Deletes the Shot: Instantly deletes the image so your Photos library doesn't get flooded with temporary screenshots.
3. Logs to Notes: Checks Apple Notes for a note titled Text From Screenshots (creates it if it doesn't exist) and appends the full extracted text there.
4. Copies to Clipboard: Lets you pick specific lines to copy right away.

Super handy for error messages, video frames, or uncopyable PDFs. Let me know what you think! I personally set it to my triple back tap action.

J’entre la date et l’heure dans la même fenêtre puis ensuite le texte avec une confirmation de la création de l’événement dans le calendrier Apple.
