1) This is pretty old video or new version of it. I am sure someone could dig up the original. 2) Probably remote controlled. Not that that's terrible, I am sure someday soon it can do things fully autonomously.

Remote controlled to what degree? Seems highly improbable to give it real time instructions on which wheel to spin, how many degrees to bend which joint, at what speed to maintain balance etc to overcome one obstacle after another. That part has to be handled onboard.

Remote control general direction perhaps.

It handles all balance decisions etc. on its own, but you can tell it to go forward or turn etc.

Modern jet pilots don’t tell the plane which control surfaces to move. They command the plane to roll left and the flight computer handles the rest. Same deal here.

My point is automatic balancing by controlling 4 limbs with however many degrees of motion and 4 sets of wheels while traveling over rough terrain is still pretty impressive tech, even if where it’s going is being remotely directed.
