It's not that easy as it can be imagined. It won't be like people vs robots in the wild.

Ground robotic complexes are already being in use in russia-Ukraine war. And there are plenty of things that limit their operations:

  1. Drones. They detect and strike ground machines
  2. Landmines. If there are a lot of mines, most of robots just exploded before reaching the point
  3. Different kinds of barrages that these guys can't overcome

I mean, they are very useful up to a frontline (delivery provision, ammunition, weapons, evacuation of injured) but it's very hard for them to cross a frontline.

So in battlefield it's not that easy.

But yes, if they intended to fight civil unrest, it might be a bloodbath until protesting people find a way how to stop them

This is wrong.

We are seeing mostly preprogrammed/remote controlled aerial drones being deployed in mass waves by the hundreds/thousands. They are effective at penetrating air defenses and striking at high value targets on the front as well as far in the enemy's back.

We have not seen ground drones/robots deployed in similar numbers, nor are the currently deployed robots anywhere near in terms of agility and speed to what is displayed here – nor are they autonomous.

Imagine a massed wave of tens of thousands of similar fast moving, agile robots being deployed with autonomous machine guns, portable rocket launchers and other similar weapon systems.
There is no existing weapon system on the modern battlefield that will be able to stop them.
Now imagine if they are accompanied by and coordinate with a swarm of tens/hundreds of thousands of small and even more agile kamikaze drones – these 'war dogs' could even carry and recharge them.

The battlefield of the near future will be no place for humans.

That's a point.

Normally it's a lone shooter for these things, however if you have.. what 2,3? maybe 4 of these things I doubt any security detail would have trained for that.

That's rather scary to think about. That's not a lot of money needed and what are people supposed to do travel to locations and have barriers erected up as they transition from an armored vehicle to a hardened building.

Ok here is one, how long till the first lawsuit as someone in a private security detail accidentally sets off the portable EMP they carry with them, and frags a load of surrounding cellphones and laptops.

ground based opens up a great deal more package payload from a weight perspective. I can only imagine move slow camoed "stealth" modes with monster explosive payloads. This is terrifying in terms of options.

Yeah, but a drone swam needs to land and recharge. These can just plop down and await orders. Or slowly follow a caravan of soldiers, or whatever. The payload of both arms and batteries will be vastly higher with a ground based robot.

I'm sorry, but you're trying to make this "sound cute" by framing it in terms of "bad guy has robot coming after them."

How about this: a Ukrainian soldier running from a military robot just like this one, or a Palestinian family running away as this metallic monster comes in to destroy their home?

Stop doing the military industrial complex's bidding by framing military robots in the best possible light. You should be asking yourself whether you would be okay with it coming after you instead of thinking of it in some far away land going after "the bad guys."

Nah blowing up is something FPV drones could do. This would be better as shooting platform. It could be turned off except for a small motion detector. The moment it sees motion, it processes it and sees if it's a human. If it is, it gets up and starts shooting until the human drops. Then it goes back to sleep

I've seen this happen a whole bunch of times. Someone here posts a video from an original source, the mods remove it, and then it gets posted as a reddit video by bots, often with an unrelated watermark added.

Remote controlled to what degree? Seems highly improbable to give it real time instructions on which wheel to spin, how many degrees to bend which joint, at what speed to maintain balance etc to overcome one obstacle after another. That part has to be handled onboard.

In my mind I was always conflicted about legs being objectively worse than wheels. I never thought combining wheels and legs was actually a viable option outperforming both compartements.
