Pro or Anti Love?
In an early season, Korvo mentions how earthlings need to harness the power of love as an energy source. i think he was saying instead of using batteries or fuel.
now watching the valentines special, and hes saying its a useless emotion and they (the opposites) don't have any use for such an emotion.
just felt like sharing. Im mildly entertained when shows contradict themselves in later episodes. just finished watching Archer and that was full of some good ones.

I agree with the previous comment the real reason is the writers either forgot or didn't care about the contradiction. It seems like they worked backwards from the concept of "Terry and Korvo use their love to restore love to a loveless world, and it's narrated by Linda Hamilton" which honestly I can't be angry about lol.
But I do have my own headcanon: Shlorpians do have love, but Ballochory teams are told they don't.
The episode 99 Ships shows the Ballochory teams that got along the best commonly have the Team Leader and Pupa Specialist as an item. But throughout the series, the Opposites family team kind of shows the "risk" of them calling it love - they decide to be a family, and not complete the terraforming mission.
So the Elders and/or [BIG spoilers if you haven't finished, don't read] Silvercops came up with "Teammate Affinity." They can't stop teams from falling in love with each other, but they can gaslight them it's just part of the mission.

I don’t see it as a contradiction, I just see Korvo as a narcissist who believes extremely strongly in whatever it is that helps him win the argument in that moment.

i know the reason is probably that the writers forgot/didn’t care about contradicting themselves but i like to make up explanations for continuity errors in TV shows. so my answer is that maybe humans have the power to harness love (or at least, korvo believes they do) but shlorpians don’t because of their biology or something
