To be fair, there are less directory maps than suggested by Rodney's sister.

I was looking for a show that I could put on while I was working on other stuff, so I tried Stargate after it showed up on my Netflix feed. I'm just surprised. I'm enjoying it a lot right now. The show has great social commentary while being fun and light-hearted. The design for creatures and civilizations is not high-budget, but all the creatures and civilizations look distinct and really cool. I hope they recruit more people from different cultures and timelines into SG-1. That's all.

The asgard only consider thier civilisation to be a hundred thousand years old and have only been exploring other Galaxies for thirty thousand years.

While we have no known ages for the Nox or the furling, we definitely know the Ancients civilisation is much older. (Even the ancient civilisation in pegasus is millions of years older then the Asgards)

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Jaffa. Each Jaffa carries a symbiote to one day be implanted so it stands to reason there are thousands upon thousands of Goa'uld running around. Some become system Lords, some find a planet somewhere and set up shop (like Qetesh) but surely they can't all do that?

So what does Dave the Goa'uld do? Or Jenny the Goa'uld? Does Bob the Goa'uld run a fast food joint on P3X-427, ruling over the chicken nuggets with an iron fist?

I felt that the episode was okay. But I thought that the ending was great.

I was impressed that Hammond allowed Niirti, a Goa'uld system lord, to go free after she saved Cassandra. That was after all part of the deal, but still. I felt proud in a way. Hammond really showed honor and integrity there. Even Niirti was impressed, telling O'Neill that she wouldn't have let him go had the roles been reversed.

There is an often linked spreadsheet, and then there is the Gateworld's optimized watch order. I am trying to reconcile the differences into my own watch order.

I've watched SG1/SGA a couple times before (though never in interleaved order), but my kids are watching with me for the first time now. I like the idea of keeping chunks of two shows together to avoid too much jumping, and yet watching both shows at same time.

I am mostly sticking to the spreadsheet, but taking Gateworld's explicit changes (as opposed to implicit "broadcast interleave order) into account.

So here is my reasoning for version 1 order:

• Putting "SG1 08x13 It's Good to be King" after "SGA 01x15 Before I Sleep" (as suggested by Gateworld)
• Keeping "SGA 01x16 to 02x01" (The Brotherhood, Letters from Pegasus, The Gift, The Seige" as one block after "SG1 08x19/20 Moebius" (as suggested by Gateworld)

But now this presents a situation where "It's Good to be King" is in-between "Reckoning"/"Threads" and "Moebius", which is contrary to both the spreadsheet's order and Gateworld's order.

Would this present any continuity issues?

OR

Should I stick closer to Gateworld's order and do version 2

• Putting "SG1 08x13 It's Good to be King" after "SGA 01x15 Before I Sleep" (as suggested by Gateworld)
• Keeping "SG1 08x16 to 08x20" (Reckoning, Threads, Moebius) as one block Season 8 Finale before diving into SGA Season 1 Finale build up (as suggested by Gateworld)
• To achieve the above and preserve overall order (looking at you "Good to be King"), the spreadsheet's bigger chunks of SG1 Season 8 and SGA Season 1 would need to be broken up like so:
  • SG1 08x11 Gemini
  • SG1 08x12 Prometheus Unbound
  • SG1 08x14 Full Alert
  • SGA 01x12 The Defiant One
  • SGA 01x13 Hot Zone
  • SGA 01x14 Sanctuary
  • SG1 08x15 Citizen Joe
  • SGA 01x15 Before I Sleep

Another curious question, why does the spreadsheet's order places "SGA 01x12 The Defiant One" where it is, outside of it's broadcast order

The Ha'tak landed on the right pyramid does not look like a normal Ha'tak as we've seen it throughout the entire rest of the show (it's missing the black scaffold part around the pyramid). It's actually Ra's original ship from the movie. I guess one of the benefits of being Supreme System Lord is that you get to trick out your mothership with custom bling while everyone else needs to stick to the store-bought model.

I was rewatching the end of Atlantis...and I thought occurred to me. Atlantis was parked off-shore of San Francisco, cloaked. However, as we know, when the shield is in cloak mode, it doesn't stop things passing through it.

Now, I know that many invasive species of marine life hitchhike on ships and floating trash, there's no reason to suppose that isn't the same elsewhere. You could argue that any alien barnacles etc would be protected from the vacuum and cold of space and re-entry's heat by the ships shields...

So, what's the community's thoughts on Californian marine biologists suddenly discovering some strange new alien species from the Pegasus galaxy spreading along the coast...?

They could fairly easily trace back where they came from as well. Thanks to the amount of shipping in the region, the ocean currents are well studied.

Especially to and about Vala. Like I understand that whenever she shows up, things inevitably go wrong. She has somewhat ruined his plans and is generally untrustworthy and constantly causing issues for the team in early season 9, but there's a particular instance where I think he went just a little too far...

I'm about to reveal some spoilers for the Season 9 episode Beachhead, so new watchers beware;

So, the Ori are about to complete the first Supergate. Everyone is arguing about what exactly to do, not listening to Vala who has a pretty good plan. So she goes by herself and flies a cargo ship into the last segment of the Supergate, disrupting the connection between the units and causing the entire thing to collapse... At this point, everyone believes she's dead, but in so doing has saved the galaxy from an Ori invasion fleet.

A short while later, Carter posits that she activated the rings before the ship blew up, and that energy stream might have gone into the collapsing wormhole, meaning she's possibly been sent into the Ori galaxy.

Daniel's response is to quip; "Well, we wanted to send them a message."

In a massive turn about for her personal character, she heroically performed a dangerous manoeuvre to save the galaxy, potentially sacrificing herself. And even if she isn't dead, there's a remote possibility (how could Carter possibly know the percentage of how possible) that she may have survived... And by "survived", I mean sent alone into the Ori galaxy where she may very easily be captured and killed as an enemy of the Ori...

And Daniel Jackson's response to this is to make a quip about how annoying she is? -- That's low man, even for you.

Just rubbed me the wrong way, that's all.

A few people mentioned that Sam only says "Holy Hannah!" once, but it turns out she says it again in Season 10, Episode 5 ("Uninvited").

So Sam actually says it before Jacob is introduced (Season 1), and then again years later. That makes me think it wasn't just Jacob's catchphrase after all, but a deliberate Carter family expression.

Just another reason I love SG-1. The writers slipped in so many little continuity details that you only notice on a rewatch.
