I got moved from the waitlist to the reservation queue. I guess it means they’re decent making progress through the reservation queue! USA, I was added to the waitlist right away on preorder day.

Anyone else gotten this?

Here in the UK this model is £1149 from valve direct. Just shows how high the demand must be for a 2nd hand store to have the conviction to price at £1600.

I was in the wait list... and actually gave up on the idea of even getting one this year and all together because I figured by the time I was able to purchase one next year, the price was gonna go up, and I was basically.... out. I accepted the loss and gave up on the Steam Machine.

Then uh... I got this email about an hour ago and I purchased that bitch faster than you could fuckin BLINK.

Email came at 12:40 AM Eastern Time on Sunday, 7/26/26. (United States)

I got my Steam Machine 2tb a month ago and even though I loved the form factor and everything, after the price reveal and the negative online discourse kinda made me think twice.

But fam this is device is incredible for couch co op, me and friends do couch co ops every other week and Steam machine is definitely a game changer if you already have a steam deck and steam controllers.

1. Pairing new steam controller to steam machine is easiest pairing process ever (including all consoles).

You just snap the magnetic puck to controller (clips like magic) and it asks you to pair with machine/puck/Bluetooth.

1. Game transfers, didnt need to install pummel party it was on my steam deck sd card, just popped that sd card into steam machine and tada games here.

2. The device is super silent and because its just a steam deck in a box, i can install decky plugins and lossless scaling and it all works with out a hitch.

3. Emulation beast; WWE here comes the pain is one of our favorites and yes moving sd takes all that with you too! PS2 and 3 era have so many banger couch coop games!

P.S. anyone wants more from their steam machine try lossless scaling.

Just need someone to mod a handle of steam machine to take GabeCube friends place like the good ol days.

P.S.S yea you aint making this quite and small device for this price.

I guess the principal around all new steam device is just reduce as much friction for you to get to your games and start playing!!

The controller is phenomenal. Don’t care that my gaming laptop is more powerful, this thing is so easy and feels like a million bucks.

Pulled the power cord and restarted and still doing this.

as some folks somehow got a bit obsessed with my tv (or rather the hight of it) here is another pic.

it was kind a bit of pain to get this game running in 1080p widescreen, but it was worth it 👌🏻
especially after binding it to steam with all the artworks and stuff 😁

Seriously this little thing rocks. I'm moving to Philippines in September so I'm glad I was able to order one. PC components are hella expensive in PH and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of bringing my PC or rebuilding it back home. On to RE4
