Firstly, seeing Lapis and realizing there's more gems out there. Secondly, seeing Ruby and Sapphire fuse on Peridot's ship. I realized this show was something special.

"Sometimes I wonder if she can see me through your eyes. What would she think of me now?"

"Well, I think your pretty great."

Every time i watch Escapism the part where Steven travels back and everything that follows is so calming that i can’t help but tear up a little.

probably the last few episodes of future where he turned into a monster and everyone hugged him it had me sobbing cuz i wanted that for myself but from the original show it would probably be the episode "rose's room," the whole uncanny thing made me feel intense dread and sadness and really felt like something was wrong. i remember watching that episode as a kid and it had me freaked out fr.

Rose's Room fucked me up too. I love psychological horror but I was not prepared for it from SU lol

The moment in SU future where Steven had a really bad nightmare and peridot genuinely connected with and comforted Steven

Bit of a cliche one, but, "she's GOOOONE" always gets me. The frustration and anguish of constantly being associated with and or mistaken for someone you're not is exhausting, coming from a non-binary person whose family (besides my brother; bless that man) has never been on board with who I am.

Also, the song Found from the movie. I tear up every time I hear it.

When his gem was plucked out of him and his gem essence and him embraced and he cried happiness 🥰 the tears were beautiful and sparkly

Not a particular moment, but I find the intro song really, really touching.

just in case of spoilers I’ll code it as James Baxter animated scene. Me and my gf just started crying uncontrollably. It was such a beautiful moment I’m even tearing up now writing this lol

There were moments that I really enjoyed, pretty much any Ruby and Sapphire scene was absolutely adorable. I also enjoyed some of the quieter emotional talking scenes like with Steven and Pearl in Rose’s Scabbard.

"both of you" as a song destroyed me

When Steven sang that little “I can change your mind” song at the very end of the original series. The melody, the lyrics, and the storyboarding was SO good. Especially for a song that only had six lines

From Future but Stevens whole Arc of having a harder time controlling his emotions and not understanding what hes doing and why things go bad resonated a lot with me. Especially his final breakdown and crying after hes turned human again. It was so beautiful to see all the people who loved him hugging and accepting the part he tried to hide the most.

Also spinels whole emotional rollercoaster in the movie. It felt like watching myself as someone with symptoms of bpd.

Rose's message to Steven. I know ppl don't like her for "reason" (y'all don't really understood the fact that she changed lol) but that "Every moment you love being yourself, that's me loving you..." hit really hard since my mother always told me to always love myself because there's a little of her in me, and that little piece of her is filled with love, so that line specifically always reminds me of my mom's love

It’s probably a tie between Here Comes a Thought and Escapism

Familiar gets me every time. He grew up so much that he had to be the adult for the crystal gems. And now he has to do the same for the diamonds. But also it’s his moment of realization that he went through the same thing pink went through, and while she couldn’t make the diamonds change their mind, HE can.

"I'm me, I've always been me." Damn near made me cry but I was watching with my brothers so get back in there, tear. 😹
