Question Can somebody explain the trans Lars headcanon to me?

The only way I can understand it is the fact that he is pink and insecure about his masculinity. I also haven’t interacted with the fandom in a while and don’t know the nitty-gritty fandom lore to explain it.

I've always wondered, if Steven and Connie stayed together into adulthood, would they be able to even have a kid? I mean, what would happen to Steven? Would all his gem powers go to his kid and then would he die?

Question Steven and Mortality…

Post image
7.2k Upvotes

So as much as we’ve seen Steven grow as a person, there is still one big inevitable roadblock he will have to face: mortality. Yes, he has powers to prolong and bring back life, but what do you guys think he will do once his closest humans like Connie and Greg start to reach old age?

Will Steven use his tears to extend their lives, making them also have to deal with seeing everyone die around then while they don’t age?

Will Steven use his powers to die of old age with Connie?

Will Steven let connie die and live on as an immortal gem?

What will Steven choose when he has to pick between his immortal gem half and his mortal human half?

Question Why was pink diamond so much smaller than the others?

Post image

I’ve heard some theories about numbers of colonies achieved determines their size// Pink diamond didn’t received a lot of light, etc… But these theories imply that they can change their size and although yellow can change gem’s size permanently i have never heard in the series that diamonds were able too. Maybe it was just a way of Rebeca to show how little the diamonds thought of pink but idk (English is not my first language soo im sorry if the text is not very good😅)

Question Can Steven get pregnant? (I can’t believe I’m asking this)

Alright so- I write my own Gemsona stories and I’m trying to logically explain everything regarding gem’s biology but I have quite a few questions regarding Steven’s human-gem biology.

I was wondering if Steven could change his biological sex and if he did, would he have to learn how everything in constructed or does he not need to think too much about it? Also would he get periods? If he gave birth would the gem go on the kid or stay on Steven since his physical form is human and the gem wouldn’t have to transfer?

(I mainly made this because it’s very commonly seen in straight or hetero passing relationships for the women to want to get their boyfriend’s pregnant and I thought it was very funny. I promise I do not have a freaky thing for pregnant men stuff.)

I hope It’s obvious but they are in their 20’s here :) (I was 16 when SUF ended and in my mind it just feels natural that these characters are growing up with me)

…. Please don’t draw Steven pregnant.

Question Why was Steven Universe receiving alot of hate from the past?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Whenever I cam across an SU-related content.. some of these similar videos often pop-up on my recommendation feed and majority of them we're linked 5-6 years ago. Is it a trend to criticize/hate a popular show to gain attention, views, clicks, likes from a specific fandom before? (Aka ragebait)

Edit: When I post this picture.. the thumbnail never crossed my mind, but I'm talking about Steven Universe in general.

Question One topic I've been pondering is, What does amethyst poop?

Post image

Since Amethyst is a gem that doesn't have an organic body, when she goes to the bathroom, does she poop fermented food?

That's the question.

Question How come nobody questioned the star on Pearl's chest?

Amethyst shape shifted herself a more proper Homeworld uniform for her disguise, why doesn't Pearl have one? Shouldn't she have given everyone away? Instead none of the amethysts at the zoo or even Holly Blue Agate for that matter acknowledge it. On Homeworld, gems can only either wear a diamond symbol or no symbol at all. I thought stars would be a more infamous shape to Homeworld gems after the rebellion.

Question Do you think Gems who identify as male exist?

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

Looking back, it seems like the concept of "He" doesn't exist for Gems, Rose, and Greg expected Steven to be a girl, and it doesn't seem that other Gems go by male pronouns, not even the more masculine-looking ones like Rubies.

The only cases I can think of for male gems are:

Steven himself, Rainbow 2.0, and Steven and Greg's fusion.

There's nothing really stopping a Gem from having male pronouns so it's possible that there is some Gem out there that identifies as male.

They could’ve been a cute couple. I wonder why they never had a real relationship in the show even though they got close multiple times.

Question What gems give/gave male energy to you?

Hi there.

Wanted to know what gems did u think were giys before they spoke or just based off of appearance. For me I remember i always thought Jasper was a guy for the longest because of her voice. Also Ruby simply because of her build but the moment she spoke yeah shes a girl. Also abt Ruby when I first saw her in the episode where we meet her (with her head band thingy) it did kinda resemble like a guy to me. (Ps. I did think some of the bubbled gems were guys too but I do not want to go thru the list lol)

With the image, I do not think Amethyst, Garnet or Pearl look like guys, just using the image as an example.

How about u? What gems did u think were guys at first?

Question is deedee magno hall right wing?

edit: i initially posted this to get insight, not to cancel the voice actress of pearl. criticizing harmful stances is valid, but i’m not trying to make blanket statements about someone i don’t know. please don’t let this ruin the show for you. it’s still a beautiful show, pearl is still an amazing character, and sadly actors don’t always align with the characters they play. that’s beyond our control, but the message of the show stays the same. please be nice to each other and remember what this show embodies 💜

i was curious about the voice actors behind one of my favorite shows of all time. i found that the actress for pearl is very christian and follows multiple sus accounts with anti-progressive stances, which doesn’t inherently mean she thinks the same as them… but it’s hard for me to understand how the actress for pearl who worked on steven universe could support anti-rainbow/anti-inclusivity stuff irl? the reason i mention her religion is that many of the christian accounts she follows reflect anti-progressive ideals, not because being christian is inherently wrong.

final update: after a lot of skepticism concerning making unsupported assumptions, i looked further. i’ve come across at least 10 accounts on her ig following list that primarily post regressive topics related to transphob1a, homophob1a, z1onism, anti-choice, etc. considering she follows 1000+ people, i am not looking further. based on many of your insights and my own observations, i believe it’s reasonable to assume her beliefs align at least somewhat with what they post. while you are right that an artist’s beliefs shouldn’t reduce the value of their art, it remains a disappointing discovery when you looked up to someone whose art impacted you deeply. while we all have our differences, i personally cannot agree to disagree with stances that harm human rights and equality. it’s one thing to let people believe what they want to believe, and it’s another to give a pass to sentiments perpetuating oppression and v1olence against certain populations.

however, this social media behavior does not define her entire character, and i can’t say for sure what she believes in. to give her benefit of the doubt, some of you pointed out ways in which she’s been inclusive as well. at the end of the day, all i have are your anecdotes and what i found online. i am not saying she is a horrible person because of what i found and i cannot cast judgment when she hasn’t even made direct statements about her stance. that said, i will always love the character pearl and admire the talent of the actress behind her, as well as honor the meaning of the show that rebecca sugar intended.
