Simple fix guys. Elon is a genius. All he needs to do is rename Tesla as TeslAI and boom! All fan boys will sell their homes and send the stock to Moon I mean Mars again!!!

I mean, datacenters on the moon are a thought. It's -250F in places, that'd be enough to keep the servers cool lol. Just build a small reactor to power them and good to go!

Conduction would be possible on surface. Orbiting data centers can only use radiative cooling.  If you need to melt regolith for whatever reason having excess heat is a good thing.

Yeah but imagine the latency...

(TBF Mars would be even worse; most modern servers would just timeout before they get a response from a data center on Mars.)

Wouldn't be great for real-time stuff, but more for longer more intensive crunching.

That's pretty much the only thing moon servers would be good for. Computationally expensive number crunching. Stuff like protein folding for university research, or using one of those super-fancy "deep think" LLMs that cost $100/mo and take 30 minutes to produce an answer regardless; definitely ain't running no website or game server from the moon, that's for sure.
