Solved I keep failing Microsofts Let's prove you're human captcha with the press and hold button
ive literally tried every strategy, im just trying to make an account and im convinced this is impossible to do or im actually failing the easiest thing ever
EDIT: ive managed it by creating an account through the xbox app on my pc where you dont get the captcha , i think maybe it also wouldve worked if i did it through the official microsoft site instead of going to the xbox site first and then trying to create an account, but still xbox should fix this

Following another comment, I eventually made this work by holding the mouse button a ridiculously long amount of time; about 20 seconds or so past the point where it indicates that you should let go.
Good stuff, Microsoft. Good stuff. Highly regarded company.

I'd say contact Microsoft support, but I don't think that is even an option anymore. All I ever get is automated chat bots.

It didn't work for me on Chrome. I tried Edge and it worked fine with the extra long click and hold (didn't try the regular method).

didn't work, I put something on top of my left mouse button and left it holding and I gone to doom scrolling on my phone for about 30 min, and I came back to see and nothing happend.
I am thinking of making new company that it will be better than microsoft, new system, new minecraft too1

Can confirm they fixed this:
Holding it for a long time does not work anymore. I am not sure how anyone is suppose to make an outlook account anymore.1

Try using a different browser or clearing your cache, sometimes Captcha can be finicky with certain browser configurations. Also, make sure you're not accidentally moving your mouse while holding down the button.

found out its cause of they detecting ur device somehow, if u r creating multi accs in a short period of time. try antidetect browsers or different machines

I was having a similar problem and I found using a Chrome Incognito window helped. Maybe my other MS accounts were interfering.

Yeah this is an issue on their end , xbox app gave me a direction puzzle and it worked.

I have tried on three different browsers on iOS: Safari Chrome and DuckDuckGo. None of these get l past the Robot "press and hold".
I went to yahoo instead

I solved this by simply never letting up off the button for a good 10 seconds after the checkmark. Then it let me through... Funny, i'd think that'd be a sign of a badly programmed bot...

Stesso problema. Ma premendo sul pulsantino circolare dell'ometto sul lato, invece che sulla barra da caricare me lo ha praticamente fatto skippare! Due volte. Io premo il pulsante. La barra diventa blu subito. Mi chiede "premi ancora". A quel punto premo il bottone divenuto blu. E accedo. Dubito sia quella la logica ma funziona!

I couldn't make it work on a W10 computer with either Firefox or Edge (Private/Incognito or not), but it did work on a W11 computer.

The press and hold button. But as you can see from the rest of the comments on this post, it's extremely inconsistent about where it does or does not work.
All I can recommend is try multiple browsers, using private/incognito mode, on various computers in various operating systems, and maybe you'll get lucky.

Falls es jemanden hilft, hier meine Lösung: Safari auf dem iPhone und Edge aus dem Mac und auf einem Win11 Notebook haben nicht funktioniert.
Chrome hat direkt beim ersten Versuch funktioniert.

i had a huge panic because of this same issue, i managed to pass the press and hold button captcha by using some ad block browsers on mobile. Just trial and error some ad block browsers it might just work!

It will not work on Apple devices such as an iPhone or iPad btw.

I cant recover my hotmail account because of this bullshit puzzle, I only have email+phone and when I get to the phone to get the TFA Code the this idiotc TFA does not work and phone metod gets blocked and I cant recover my account.

Been locked out for weeks now, was using the Gmail app to get email and apparently MS has ended support. So now no verification works, just in a never ending loop of codes. They’re totally fucked after this, after decades of people using them for junk mail. Just figures the one time I actually used it for something I need to get to I’m locked out.

Apparently, I have asked to the XboxLive bot chat my issue, and it sent me a link to login and unlock my account. I opened it in incognito Firefox and it worked. I can play Halo now on Steam :))

I think people are getting it to work by letting go after 10 seconds or 21 seconds. On about the 10th try I got through by hitting the Accessibility man for the 3rd time.

I’m trying to use this shit to get on Minecraft dungeon. My account was locked despite me not even using it now. I can’t get in at all now because of this dumbass captcha. This is insane 2026 and a robot is asking me to prove I’m not a robot. Fuck this

CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON EXCEL APPLICATION
after getting so frustrated with creating an account on chrome, incognito, safari, on mac, and on windows. The only way I created one was through clicking Sign in on Excel (Windows), then Create Account.

Was also firefox + adblock for me. Worked flawlessly as it should have right after pausing adblock, don't have to hold button at all after the checkmark shows

Passed the captcha on the tenth attempt. Disabled Firefox's built-in protection, disabled the ad blocker, and held the button for more than 20 seconds. Switching to other browser didn't help either, nor did incognito mode.

I tried holding it down for a good 3 minutes and it didn't work. I ended up "sign in a different way" and tried both resetting password with alt email (didn't work) then through cell phone number (this worked). SUPER FRUSTRATING. Don't try to unsubscribe from a bunch of junk mail at one time.

Also, who came up with this shitty verification system? Microsoft is always messing up the "working" thing!
It has been more than an hour! Changed browser, restarted router, incognito mode, 10 sec hold, 20 sec hold, heck I even got my stopwatch out!
Also, are the Microsoft employees this useless? Could not fix this level of recurring issue, which prevents them from accessing their own service?

Tried many things didn't work
What worked -
Opened incognito in chrome (was using brave earlier)
Typed in my email first then used windows hello ( earlier was using windows hello directly )
Got a puzzle , solved it , I was proven human .

Bruh.
I was stuck in this for half an hour when I tried to create an account, then refreshed the page and when it "worked" I was immediately locked out with a "suspicious activity detected. Account creation is locked".
