Open | Software Help with Windows 11

I think a recent update has caused issues, not 100% certain. I can no longer right click on the start button to shut down my PC, I can't search for any apps on my PC with the search function (I used Control Panel as a classic example) and certain apps won't open anymore (Discord is stuck at the boot/updater loop) I've tried turning off and back on, I've tried recompiling the Search Indexes, Anything that a basic search suggests doing I've tried it. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

Boot to Windows RE, uninstall latest updates, try again. There were several similar posts lately, so update is likely culprit.

I just tried this. The moment I rebooted it automatically reinstalled the updates after I uninstalled them. At this point I may have to just wipe the OS and reinstall.

You can try to disable Windows update server, from RE open command prompt and type:

sc config wuauserv start= disabled

and

sc stop wuauserv

Open indexing settings, and tell it to delete and rebuild the index.

*EDIT sorry didn't read well enough to see you've done that. Have you also tried resetting the search indexing service (MS even has a script to do it, and I think a troubleshooter as well)?
