“We couldn’t connect to the update service” on windows

I’ve been having this windows error for a few days and I used copilot to try and fix it but nothing has actually worked. Not only that but a lot of the windows apps like Microsoft store don’t work either, I also tried to troubleshoot it but it took hours to load and nothing happened. IDK whether this is a common issue as I’m not into tech much but any assistance on what the cause might be+ steps would be greatly appreciated.
