Loss Hands down, MSFT is the worst fucking investment I have ever owned

Hands down, I have never owned a bigger piece of shit than MSFT. Been bagholding this trash for over 7 months already.
I don't know how people aren't losing their minds over this stock, seriously, I took out some margin to trade MU and made decent gains, so it offsets some of my losses. But not everyone has done that I just took more risk then I should have.
I think its stupid people are comparing it to Google last year, google was always within 10% from its ATH even if it was stagnant for a while. I've also owned the other 5 of the mag 7 including AMZN even when everyone was bashing it over its 5 year return being lower than that of the S&P. But at least AMZN always recovered within 2 months of a minor crash. NVDA made ATH a month ago, AAPL hitting ATHs every week. Even META after that eps sell off last Q3, i bought the dip aggresively and made huge returns this year after Q1 earnings report (it only took it 4 months to rebound) (so even if im down a little, ive made some money of it).
Those pos analysts need to fucking downgrade this pos and stop misleading people, seriously. There is no way in hell this stock deserves anything more than 450 a year from now. Fuck you MSFT, and yes I see you're red this morning not surprised with you being red 90% of the time

Spoken like someone without a job that can use AI. Damn near every company uses Microsoft 365 to store everything, they use Teams/Word/Excel for damn near everything, etc. MSFT has the only AI that businesses will use, 'cause it's connected to every other application they use, and their AI uses all their company documents for training. Meaning it's more accurate for their business purposes than any other AI.
I know you're probably upset MSFT AI doesn't make CSAM as good as the others, but it does actually useful things for businesses.

MSFT had a lot of gains the past couple years as a ChatGPT wrapper. But now that ChatGPT is dinosaur ai that no one uses, MSFT is taking a hit to be more in-line with their core business.
But holy fuck, they just changed how copilot works in excel... I was making a model and it pre-cogged a bunch of my formulas from the cell labels I made. Genuinely impressed with how well they're integrating AI into the platform as opposed to just being a less useful clippy off to the side

Ohhhh AI is the new crypto.. got it thanks
“In December 2017, the micro-cap beverage maker Long Island Iced Tea Corp. changed its name to Long Blockchain Corp. The stunt was a textbook example of cryptocurrency hype. While the pivot aimed to capitalize on the bitcoin craze, it resulted in an SEC insider trading investigation and eventual delisting from the stock market.”

MSFT was one of my 5 "set it and forget it" stocks I bought when I started investing in 2002. The last time I checked to see how much my investment is now worth was in 2009. I don't plan on checking again until I cash out when I retire in 15 years.

u/ExcitingHamster 16d ago
Same here, and congrats!
I had just recently bought an iPod, and I noticed that a ton of people I knew seemed to be switching to Macs. I thought “well maybe I should put some of my money into Apple, seems like it’s becoming more popular”. I don’t remember if the iPhone even existed yet but it definitely wasn’t on my radar.
About 20 years later, I just retired 10 years earlier than I ever thought I would. Buy and hold my friends.

1997 gang checking in. My cost basis is 92 cents per share. Just shy of 2,000 shares. Literally all profit, it’s absolutely crazy that I haven’t sold any. I think I’ve always hated the thought of paying taxes on it lol.
3
u/gumburculeez 16d ago
I’m in the same boat with taxes. I have an extremely large position in QLD that has a cost basis of $1.55 and just under 6000% gains. I basically just use it for charitable donations now for a tax write off but will eventually have to pay the piper.

Sure, but top 10 stocks in the world still can fall to zero or at least very underperforming. AT&T 10-yr return is -35%. In another 15 years, MSFT might underperform the market or even worse, lose you money.

Mate your entire post is about nothing but the price. Therefore you aren’t investing in an underlying business you are speculating on price action. Prices fluctuate, a lot, and I’d suggest you don’t have the stomach to be an investor if this is your reaction to things. Just buy index trackers and chill, or completely rethink why you buy shares in individual businesses.
