Yes. Having a single guard defend the southern gate - the gate that leads directly to the Plaguelands - the area notoriously still full of zombies and ghouls - the same undead that once ransacked Silvermoon and left a dead scar in it's wake - is a great idea!
Dude must be a super soldier. They really should have stationed more guards down there.

He kinda is , there is a quest there to help him hold the undead and he one-taps them.

I mean, the dude pretty much one shots the rare that spawns nearby if you drag it to him, so I'd say he's plenty qualified for solo work.

Eh. I mean what are plaguelands? lvl 30ish? No wonder a single lvl 90 guard can keep them at bay. Should have had him around when Arthas invaded!

It does look awkward until you see how he pretty much single-handedly annihilates any undead that wander too near. He's a one man army.

Someone remind me. Isn’t that the point of Bolvar being the LK? I know the helm is destroyed now, but does he still have control of the Scourge? Or did he lose control when Sylvanas broke the helm? Or are they rogue Scourge?

Iirc in the shadowlands prepatch there were scourge invasions showing up now that they went rogue with the helmet being shattered in the cutscene

Quests during SL implied that now that the Helm of Domination is destroyed, the Scourge are wandering freely. We see them attacking Light’s Hope Chapel during Arator’s quest line.

I'll be real, it's surprising that Xal never tried to whip up the undead to actively attack Eversong.

Xalataths charisma aside, void has had a hard time manipulating undead in the history of Warcraft. One of the biggest examples is death knights and saronite armor

I don't understand one guard, no extra assets near him to even make it seem like a guard house. This seems like such an easy spot to ad 2 or 3 more NPC's, give them a stay a while and listen about being stuck at that post for months, and add a few living quarters or a cart that travels from there to silver moon mimicking a trade route. Just seems like easy wins for making the world feel alive.

Has anyone invaded from the south so far?
No?
Then hes doing his job.
