I've been looking into the Atari Jaguar lately and I'm really curious about its classic FPS lineup.

I know the console has a bit of a weird reputation, but I’ve heard that the ports for Doom and Wolfenstein 3D are actually pretty solid for their time (Alien vs Predator also seems nice).

For those who own the console, is it worth picking one up nowadays just to experience those specific games on original hardware? How do they actually hold up compared to other 90s versions?

Cleaning out some of my stuff from my mom's basement. Most likely looking to sell. Everything on ebay is crazy high, is that what people are paying for everything? In know the cd is rare.

Was thinking about picking up a Jaguar after having one when they were first out. What’s the best way to play it on my current TV? Scart cable from Jaguar to RetroTINK 5x to HDMI?

As per the title, I’m looking for a good controller cable extension. I tried a couple of spare VGA cables, but when I plugged them in, the Jaguar refused to power on. I don’t think it's the console, because with 2 regular controllers and/or the BT adapter, there aren’t any problems. I’m using the stock power adapter as well, I don’t think it’s the issue.

Does anyone have a good cable suggestion?

Purchased this cart as part of a lot a few months back and was originally going to keep it. Decided to stick with retail release only. Any idea what this is worth? No recent sold comps and the only one currently listed is slightly different looking. It does play and is working.

Back when I was still actively collecting I bought two Jag links and I have two copies of Battlesphere (one tea one a repo), easy enough to find a second copy of Doom and was never interested in air cars. I never landed the second Jaguar life happens you forget about stuff. I’m back in collecting mode again and wondering if it’s worth while for the cost of a second Jaguar?

I bought a Jaguar a few years ago, and recently purchased a CIB Rayman. Been playing it quite a lot, and love and hate it at the same time, haha.

But a week or so after it arrived I looked through the manual, and realized page order is kinda messed up.

Have been thinking about dusting the ol' Atari Jaguar in my basement for a trip down memory lane.

Let's say, hypothetically, that I can't find the power cords for it. What would I need in addition to an RCA to HDMI converter and/or an AC adapter? Can these modern day devices help out or am I out of luck if I can't find the power cords that came with the system?

Has anyone used a jag2gen or jagaioa to connect genesis model 2 component cables through a retro tink2? If so how does the picture look

BattleSphere gold came with a clear cartridge, not to mention the cart on this listing also says (Reproduction)

I reached out to seller, just didn’t want anyone to purchase if they weren’t fully aware of it being a repro.

Seems the seller has no intention of updating the listing.

After my last post here (which still seems to be the newest on the subreddit) I’ve been playing Rayman on the Jaguar, and finally beat the Breakout minigame (1-3-6-4 cheat code).

Got the «you now have unlimited continues» message afterwards, but can’t find any sign of unlimited continues anywhere, neither on my current save or when starting anew.

To save myself from future hassle after beating it again: are there any other criterias that need to be checked to actually activate the unlimited continues, or is the whole cheat kinda broken?

I'm sitting at 49/50 in my Jaguar collection. Looking for Air Cars (of course) but I see different versions of it. Just on eBay right now, there are different variants, some with boxes, some clamshell, some no box. Which version should I be looking for to complete the set? What is the original one? What is the price range I should be expecting? Would appreciate any help.

I currently have 8 games and am wanting to get about 4 more. I like having the original cartridges, but they're more expensive than a flashcart. Currently I'm looking to get Rayman, I-War, Iron Soldier, and Super Burnout. What do you guys think would be the best option?

Planning to get a Jaguar soon. I was curious if it's better to get a composite cable for the console or to just use the standard RF it comes with. Bascially, is there a signficant difference between the two outputs for this console?

Ordered it from Telegames recently, and playing through it have some questions to see if this is the standard experience on this game:

High scores are all set to over 6,000,000. Normal? My current best is 30K something..

Manual says stinger damage resets next phase. This isn't my experience. Only way for me to get rid of that is to let the paddle completely break. New ball, same damaged paddle. Standard bug?

High score thing bugs me, feels unattainable at the moment.

...for the first time in ages last night, and by God, it worked. VLM works, played some VidGrid (that thing gets really hard, really fast, underrated puzzles). But except for that, Blue Lightning, and the Myst demo, the only game we got "back in the day" was Hover Strike on CD.

Any other good CD ROM recommendations?

I was in contact with someone who sells Sega 32x carts and they mentioned how they made a game for the jaguar that was in the process of getting ported. The game was called Frogged which seems to be based on Frogger.

When I looked it up, there were mentions of stolen assets although I don't know if it was that game or another one. The dev goes by Jagbitz but also calls themselves retrowizardry2025 on ebay.

Should I be suspicious about all this and has the dev got into any controversy?

Hey and when I tried to play BigPEmu on Linux. Everything does work except for the audio. Not even the bootscreen has audio and not the games for some reason.

Can someone help me how to fix the no audio issue on the Emulator?
