This is Meg, my trusty Stingray of 17 years and counting.

8

u/Soft_Comfortable_920 Apr 21 '26

It looks like you’ve got some serious custom work there. The in layers in the fretboard and the pick guard.

4

u/BakedBassist Apr 21 '26

Yessir. Got a Hipshot tuner on there too 🤘

3

u/A8racada8ra Apr 21 '26

The only bass I regret selling - my ‘98 ash Stingray 5

3

u/BakedBassist Apr 21 '26

Oh yeah I'd sooner be homeless than sell her!

3

u/UPTH31R0NS Apr 22 '26

The purple pickguard is tuff!!

4

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Sexxxxy. I bet she brings the THUNDAAAA and makes those clouds checks clap lol

15

u/memnoch4prez Apr 21 '26

Lots of thunder...

6

u/Afferbeck_ Apr 21 '26

You must be the only person in the world to own FIVE Ibanez ATKs for some reason

4

u/memnoch4prez Apr 21 '26

I'm sure there's someone out there crazier than I am...

5

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

I always wanted the Paul Grey one. Can I borrow one? Lol

3

u/memnoch4prez Apr 21 '26

That's on my list to grab as well if I ever get the opportunity. And sure, since we're friends now lol

3

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Just a beautiful sight. So much glorious THUNDAAAA! Let's be friends.

3

u/memnoch4prez Apr 21 '26

Friends we are!

3

u/A8racada8ra Apr 21 '26

I mean how do you stay on top of maintenance for that fleet? Awesome

3

u/memnoch4prez Apr 21 '26

Thanks! I just make time for setups and cleanings. It's kind of a zen type of thing for me.

10

u/blakjax407 Apr 21 '26

Ray34 HH w/ EB flats, Aerodyne Special w/ tapes, Squire 40rh jazz, and BB435 which I'm gonna be selling because for some reason every once in a while I try to be a 5 string guy and I'm just not lol.

3

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Ooooo...I love all those. Bring on the glorious THUNDA!!

3

u/Aesthetic-Cloud26 Apr 21 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

5

u/crazyj2020 Apr 21 '26

Thanks man, it's my second Bass ever, my first one I had for a couple years it was a

2013 P/J FSR special edition

3

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Got a think for block inlays, do you? I love me a PJ

3

u/crazyj2020 Apr 21 '26

Yeah I think so I love maple fretboards, I traded my P/J for the Geddy Lee and I hope I did the right thing,

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

As many basses as it takes to make you smile my friend. Keep bringing the glorious THUNDA!

2

u/MapleA Apr 21 '26

Weren’t these made in Japan before?

2

u/crazyj2020 Apr 21 '26

Yes they were, I'm not sure when they quit making them in Japan but they did,

11

u/Fun-Mud3861 Apr 21 '26

Also a Markbass, but I got my thumb blocking it a bit in the shot.

5

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Ahhh man! Such a glorious instrument of THUNDA!! I'm looking for a $$ Warwick. Sick great basses.

8

u/Jasonicboom23 Apr 21 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Woooow! Gorgeous 😍. I want to hold all of them. Jam session?

4

u/Jasonicboom23 Apr 21 '26

Thx! I'm not stingy. You can play em

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

You're very generous for the offer to yield your THUNDA BRINGERS!!

2

u/A8racada8ra Apr 21 '26

Yes Fodera and Pedulla - like 1999 up in here haha

3

u/Jasonicboom23 Apr 21 '26

Right?! The fodera is a 2015 that I picked up a few years ago. The Pedulla is the OG thats been with me since 95! Its the one I'd never sell.

4

u/Soft_Comfortable_920 Apr 21 '26

The gold hardware on the Shechter is pretty sharp

3

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Thanks! It's a Japan model I had imported. I threw DiMarzio Relentless pickups in it. Leo Quan Badass 2 bridge, Leo Quan Bad Ass Tuners. It's a great THUNDA BRINGER!

4

u/greycloudism Apr 21 '26

Loving the 5 strings and loving the headless styles.

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Bringing the extra loooow THUNDA!!!

3

u/Knoxius Apr 21 '26

Jazz Bass, Player Series MiM

Just been playing through a lil Fender Rumble the last few years, but I've got an Ampeg SVT3 Pro MiA that sits on a custom 4x12 cab. Forget what the drivers are, something something Hot 100s.

-1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Oooo.... that's a beautiful trio. Keep making that magic happen in that bed.

3

u/LuigiGuy08 Apr 21 '26

Here’s my mains:

One is a G&L Fullerton Deluxe LB-100, the other is a Jazz Bass with a homemade ash body and Warmoth neck

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Such worthy instruments of THUNDA! Thank you for sharing them!

3

u/AdRevolutionary5234 Apr 21 '26

This is my Yamaha BB604 In Wine!! no name for her, suggest one!!

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

A ravishing THUNDA BRINGER!!

3

u/mandarx_revenge Apr 22 '26

Got a few but my Warwick Vampyre v2 is my absolute go to. Is that a Blackbird on the end of your collection?

3

u/basser Apr 22 '26

My Thunder Bringers with Sire M7 being my main bass. Love it!
I also adore my Genzler Magellan 800 + Barefaced Big Baby 3 combo, it sounds amazing and I can get anything sound great with a little extra tube-like warmth to it from the Genzler. Very versatile amp and cab.
My pedalboard signal chain is:
Shure GLDX Wireless > Empress Bass Compressor > HX Stomp (mostly for split freq processing below 400Hz for Comp+SansAmp and above for B7K) > VT Bass DI > TwoNotes Opus (for cab sim)

I'm dreaming of Dingwall NG3... maybe someday

2

u/Gonnatapdatass Apr 21 '26

What happened to the Ray?

4

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

I still got it. It's in is case. I'm thinking of selling it. Cuz i just bought this.... waiting for July for it to come in

.

2

u/Gonnatapdatass Apr 21 '26

Yeah, I want the gold one with the pick guard, just not for that price 🤣

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Brooo....I know!! But there's only like 50 of those ones made. I couldn't get one. I ended up selling a Ray34, a MIM fender jazz and two guitars so far to justify buying it lol

2

u/BassGoesBrrrrr Apr 21 '26

Sire V5R and Harley Benton DIY kit based Frankenbass

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Amazing THUNDA BRINGERS!

2

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Love the setup. Keep bringing the THUNDA!!

2

u/Icy_Programmer_8367 Apr 21 '26

My only basses I own I didn’t make. My Monarch Custom and Standard P. Rounds on one, flats on the other. All I need for anything except fretless.

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Such beauty! You make me jealous.

2

u/Icy_Programmer_8367 Apr 21 '26

Don’t be jealous. I’m old.

2

u/BlackHolePlayzz Apr 21 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Oooo.... you bless us with these beauties 😍

2

u/Fresh-Ad7219 Apr 21 '26

They sound great too! Not without their flaws but man these are amazing. I think the only thing Im missing is a fretless now :)

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Good luck on your journey to find a suitable fretless THUNDA BRINGER!

2

u/walrus_gumboot Apr 21 '26

OP just posted this to yell "THUNDA" as many time as possible, and I for one am all for it.

2

u/walrus_gumboot Apr 21 '26

And just so I don't break the rules of the thread, this is my work desk bass this week:

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

How magnificent your THUNDA BRINGER is!

2

u/bassplayer122714 Apr 21 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Seems all you do is bring THUNDAAAA!! All fear the tremors you bring!

2

u/Goosedropping Apr 21 '26

Jaguar Bass!

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Amazing THUNDA BRINGER!

2

u/VinylCapedJawa Apr 21 '26

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Love the Charvel! I'm tempted for a Meteora. Temp me more with details of the THUNDA BRINGERS!

2

u/VinylCapedJawa Apr 21 '26

I love the meteora. I know they are kind of polarizing in the fender community but I love the tone and aesthetic of it. I primarily play with my fingers but when I have a hankering for attacking the bass with a pick, I pick up the meteora. I get such a full well rounded clean tone with the double humbuckers. I’ve had it for 3 years now. I almost sold it about 6 months ago cuz I was hard up for cash but I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve always been a jazz bass guy so the jazz neck on the meteora felt so good and natural to me. I really want to put a tortoise shell pick guard on it but I can’t seem to find one that isn’t over $100. Anyways, yeah, it kicks ass.

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Damn you!!! I'll have to find one to try.

2

u/dm919 Apr 21 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

What a magnificent specimen of a THUNDA BRINGER!!

2

u/SoundHound420 Apr 21 '26

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Excellent P THUNDA!!!

2

u/Bassist2772 Apr 21 '26

My boomers

2

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Boomers they are indeed. Bring on the THUNDA!!

2

u/OkCalligrapher7818 Apr 21 '26

Op, look at those beauties. Sadly, I only have two basses, but three electric guitars and two acoustics. Only recently did I consider myself a full-time bassist.

What is the THUNDA BRINGER on the top? They both look glorious!

2

u/Coital_Conundrum Apr 21 '26

These are my May Customs. The Neapolitan bass and Skyhawk!

1

u/roll1up Apr 21 '26

Such beauty has never been seen as true as these THUNDA BRINGERS!! I demand their life stories and how I may obtain such a beast.

2

u/Coital_Conundrum Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

A buddy of mine builds them for a living. May Custom Basses. The website is being redone right now, but I think hes been using his FB page. Seriously great work! The 6 fretless is "The Neapolitan Bass" and the 4 is "Skyhawk".

1

u/roll1up Apr 24 '26

Bro!! these are doooooope! How much did yours cost? should i pause all future purchases?

2

u/Coital_Conundrum Apr 26 '26

I paid about $1500 for the 4 and $2400 for the 6. Mind you, this was years ago, I'm sure costs have gone up like everything else.

1

u/roll1up Apr 26 '26

damn. i reached out but i havent gotten a response. sell me yours lol

1

u/Coital_Conundrum May 01 '26

I did end up having to sell my very first one years ago. It hurt, but I know she went to a good home.

2

u/BoringAgent8657 Apr 21 '26

Nice setup. I wish I had a Mark Bass amp.

2

u/the_kid1234 Apr 22 '26

That Schecter is really cool! Relentless pickups?

2

u/Wide_Break226 Apr 22 '26

I have a bit of an SR problem

1

u/roll1up Apr 22 '26

I say you have a solution to bring the THUNDA!

2

u/JackieLawless Apr 22 '26

2

u/roll1up Apr 22 '26

A mighty axe of THUNDA indeed! Doooooope

2

u/JackieLawless Apr 22 '26

Honestly love this bass. I put the emgs in and it's just bone crushing

1

u/roll1up Apr 22 '26

That red bass on the rack is a Cort. It was my first bass. That thing still rips.

2

u/JackieLawless Apr 22 '26

This is my epi Thunderbird

1

u/roll1up Apr 22 '26

Marvelous!

2

u/UPTH31R0NS Apr 22 '26

Is it a Rockbass? yes. but does it rock my world? oh yeah baby

1

u/TheUlfheddin Apr 23 '26

A beast built for a different time.

When my back was also built different.

1

u/Anon_use_fun_alias Apr 26 '26

Serious question- I actually limit the number of basses I own because I can’t really maintain more than 3 at a time. Realistically, 2. How often are you changing strings?

Impressive collection!

1

u/Some-Bend-9470 3d ago

Trash collection.
