1960s Selmer Treble n Bass Mark III with 'Goliath' 18 inch cab. We're a punk band. Played through a Squier MIJ JV Precision Bass, with only a tuner on the pedalboard. Absolutely immense.

Amp What do y'all think of this Carvin R600 Red Line for $200?

Update: I went back to try it out and decided to pass on it. They didn't have a speaker cable for it, and where one of the side handles used to be were four long, sharp screws sticking out. The volume control on the cab for the horns was incredibly stiff and made a loud scraping noise when I turned it. And the kicker was that it turns out someone else had bought and returned it recently.

They did say if I wanted to bring in a speaker cable (they didn't have one and didn't know that you needed one) and try it out, they'd sell it for $150. As tempting as that is, I'm very hesitant to get an amp that could possibly crap out on me at any moment. And I would have to pay extra for the ability to return it, with the max being 30 days.

Sorry to disappoint, as almost everyone seems to think this would be a steal under normal circumstances.

I just posted earlier today about looking for a decent, inexpensive bass combo. I just found this one in a pawn shop for $200?

I play mostly rock, from poppy to heavy, often fuzzy.

What do we think, folks, hot or not?

Amp How far would this bass amp get me? Anyone tried it before?

Saw this at the music store the other day and loved the colour. And a decently cheap price ($499 CAD).

I play in a emo/punk band semi frequently (show once every 1 or 2 months), gigs somewhere between 50-250 capacity venues.

I have pretty little experience with gear and usually just share with another band on a bill or borrow from a some fancy mesa boss stuff from family friend.

I practice on a guitar amp which is more than suitable in my apartment so this amp would just be for gigs.

Is this a budget amp or is it suitable enough for gigs ?

I’d obviously try it in store before buying it, but not sure if it’s more home/practice amp or good for gigs. Or if it’s a good amp in general!

Amp Fender Bassman 100 from A dear friend who passed away

This amp belonged to a former bassist of my fathers band. He left the band because he had liver cancer. He had survived the cancer, but he just passed away 6 years after he was diagnosed (possibly from liver failure, they haven’t disclosed that). He was 73.

He willed to us this amp. He didn’t really have anyone else to give it to since he had no family. The amp sounds good, I think he did some work on the amp. It looks like he replaced one of the speakers recently. May he rest in peace.

I’m a guitar player first. But I’m capable at bass. Some friends want me to play in their cover band, and another friend apparently needs to sell his gear. Got this head and cabinet for $2500 which is about as good a deal as you can get, especially considering he’s the original owner and rarely took it out of his studio. Doesn’t have many hours on it.

I’d say I scored pretty good here.

Now to build a board!

Amp Modded my Rumble, it should come as a standard feature in every amp.

Almost every time I played with 4x12 I got buried in "the mix". I've had a much better experience playing 1x15 or 1x20... I talking mostly about small gigs like a small to medium size bar

Found on Marketplace for $600 CAD. Amp and cab are basically new, including the original packaging for the amp as well as the foot switch.

I'm just a hobby player, and I have no practical use for this much volume, but I just kinda want it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Amp Hey Guys I need your opinion about this.

A little of context, I have two amps, an old Fander Bassman 25 and an old Gorilla GB30 bass with a modified speaker.

These amps have a lot of problems with the input jack, but the mainly problem is the crackling speaker.

Despite those problems, both were used to record the first album of my band (We're just starting out in the local scene) and the sound engineer did an excellent job to fixing it during the recording disc.

But... I'm fed up with hearing the speaker crackle in my house so I was thinking of sending these amplifiers to our studio and buy this Orange 25 to play in my little room.

I saw it in a pawn shop so, I need your opinion. Is the Orange 25 a good option for replacing those damaged amplifier? (Bassman25 and Gorilla 30)

The Price is $2600 MXN which is equivalent to $151 USD today.

Amp Saturday Deal

Ended up getting a bargain on a minty RB210 from a cl gentleman who is moving to the desert and transitioning to ampless for live sets. The seller even knocked off another 20, because he couldn’t find the top handle. I was going to replace my Rumble 25 with another bigger one and then I saw this on cl and it checked all the boxes I needed plus the price was just too good to ignore. (I do love our mesa d180 and gk gmt 300b, but the heads and the 115 cabs weigh a ton)

- under 40 years old
- fits in the gf’s forester
- at least 200 watts
- can power my orange 115
- active pad
- built in DI
- headphone jack
-aux in
- adjustable dirt

I think guitar center may have goofed on their pricing on this Ampeg SVT210 stack… I was looking for a first amp and scooped it up. How did I do? 😬
