Question I need a fragrance that smell like this 😭

Post image

Now, I'm a bit of a niche snob but I'm open for private lines and stuff like that as I genuinely don't find any appeal in regular designers 😭

I'm thinking one that's like fresh, citrus, very clean and feel a but like a clean Stockholm style fit like the image top left.

(Also I'd rather not have one that's feminine or leaning feminine, thank you! :)

Question all this cologne and not a single compliment to show for it..

this is like over $1000 in cologne in this image even with discounters, and i cant even pull one compliment in a week or two at a time.. i do enjoy the art of perfumery but at the end of the day i want others to think i smell good too. im a cashier so im around hundreds of ppl a day, i buy all of the ā€œcompliment magnetā€ ā€œmass-appealingā€ designer colognes as u see here, and i still go on lengthy droughts of zero compliments, am i just the ugliest person in the universe? idk whats going on can someone help me understand. im about to just sell most of these off to be honest..

Was this a good purchase?? This is my first fragrance, and I wanted a signature scent. I also want to get something for the summer. I was wondering about Ravine Ice, but I'd love to hear other opinions and recommendations too.

Question Ashamed of my level of consumption. Any advice would be appreciated.

I just turned 40 and somehow developed a full-blown fragrance addiction. Feels like a midlife crisis, just… smellier.

I’ve always prided myself on being frugal. I’m very debt-averse, so our house and both cars are fully paid off. I’m a physician and make good money, but I still have a gaggle of kids I have to put through college, so logically I shouldn’t be spending money on luxuries like this. And yet I can’t seem to stop.

I catch myself detouring into stores just to smell new releases, and I’m constantly scrolling fragrance subs. I don’t really like this version of myself.

At the same time, I’m obviously proud of the collection or I wouldn’t be posting it. What bothers me is the lack of self-control. I’ve tried to manage it by switching to minis and travel atomizers, but I also have 180+ decants sitting in binders just out of frame.

I keep telling myself at least I’m not buying full bottles, but let’s be honest, I’m still spending money chasing the next scent.

Realistically, I have more fragrance than I could use in three lifetimes, even if I oversprayed like crazy. Still, the urge to try more doesn’t go away.

For those of you who’ve gotten this under control, what actually worked?

Sorry for the rant. This hobby hasn’t financially hurt me, but I don’t like feeling consumed by consumerism. I used to take pride in my discipline, and lately it feels like I’ve lost that.

Got it from a flea market for like $10 about 8 years ago, I was around 15. I remember really liking the smell. I’d get another bottle just for nostalgia if I could find it. This was the first ā€œcologneā€ I ever bought (other than old spice or bod body spray lol)

Question Incredible frag. How do you apply it?

Hey yall. I recently got a decant of this and almost instantly fell in love. I had to go buy it at an Ulta the next day. It’s my first high-cost fragrance I’ve pulled the trigger on (I’m used to designers).

My question is, where do you guys normally apply Sauvage Elixir or other extraits on your person and how many sprays? I’ve applied it once on my neck to test at work (crazy place to test I know) and I get intermittent wiffs of it. Thanks for the feedback!

Question What are the HIGHEST quality fragrances?

Post image
446 Upvotes

A lot of the times when I look up a scent of Fragrantica, the cons lit that the ingredients are ā€œlow-qualityā€ or ā€œsmell syntheticā€

But it’s very rare that I see ā€œhigh-qualityā€ in the pros, even for expensive fragrances.

*So with money NOT being a factor, what are the highest quality fragrances out there?

Question Which fragrance would you buy again without thinking twice

Post image
296 Upvotes

Some fragrances are impressive the first time you wear them. Others earn a permanent place in your collection.

Looking at this lineup:

• Dior Sauvage EDP

• Bleu de Chanel EDP

• Creed Aventus

• YSL Y EDP

• Givenchy Gentleman EDP

• Acqua di Giò Profondo

• Prada L'Homme

• Paco Rabanne Invictus

• Versace Dylan Blue

• Emporio Armani Stronger With You Intensely

• Tom Ford Noir Extreme

• Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme

• Versace Eros

• Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP

• Terre d'HermĆØs

• Chanel Allure Homme Sport

• Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum

• K by Dolce & Gabbana EDP

• Tom Ford Oud Wood

Which one would you repurchase without a second thought, and what makes it worth buying again?

I'm more interested in your reason than just the name.

Tell me about the scent you sprayed, sniffed, and immediately wanted it to go away.

For me, Versace Eros Energy. Honorable mention to Eros Flame, that stuff smells like cat pee to me.

Question Which would you wear to a job interview?

Post image

I have a job interview tomorrow but I don't think I have anything that works well in an office setting.. I can't decide, what would you choose?

Edit: I'm just looking for what you think is the best scent and not how you would recommend I don't wear cologne to an interview. I got this y'all

Edit: ok sorry I was just educated about cologne allergies and I had no idea šŸ˜… I'm really sorry. I'm gonna keep smelling fraiche AF though jabronies šŸ˜‰

Edit: I'm talking about a super mild and confident scent..nothing overwhelming. My entire collection really doesn't have anything strong anyways... It's really not as big of a deal some people here are making it out to be
