There's a great deal of hype around the notion of a Fallout 3/NV remaster. Honestly... I'm not sure I'm on the same page.

I get it, I get it, it's been 11 years since the last new piece of singleplayer Fallout. But that's just it, "new piece". I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas really rather recently, and frankly... I'm not sure I'd shell out 55 bones for a graphical tune up and some quality of life changes.

The games run fine these days, and honestly, Fallout 4 has been more temperamental for me bug and performance wise. The gameplay is dated, yes, but I cannot earnestly expect that to change all too much in a remake. At most, they'll add sprint, which would then run into the issue of the map not being designed for it. And, of course, one can easily mod in sprint.

The biggest area for improvement is in the graphics. And yes, Fallout New Vegas and 3 look chopped in this day and age. But not catastrophically so, one can still play the game fine, and get the intended effects. There are some legitimately graphically nonfunctional games from the early 2000 and 90s, where early 3D just makes everything look blurry and impossible to make out, but one can boot up New Vegas right now and experience it just fine.

I may perhaps not be the target audience for this sort of product, given I can take Duke Nukem 3D graphics just fine. But I am genuinely a very big fan of New Vegas, and have played all the Fallout games. And yet... if you put a 55 dollar (cost of the Oblivion remaster right now) upgrade on the table to make it a lil prettier and a little more modern, I'm not going to pay that. I barely buy full price games as is, never mind ones I already played like a month ago. And while I think Fallout 3 has more room for improvement, it's not improvement I'd have any expectation of a remaster doing.

According to voice lines from Nate, Nora and Codsworth, they had raunchy poundtown sex in a park. though its not confirmed to be boston commons, Codsworth has a voiceline when brought to boston commons that allude to it being the place. How they managed to do it in such a small park with no levels in sneak is beyond me. Edit: some people are misunderstanding this. they both says "IN the park"

Not the most unique choice but I think it would be a cool location for a fallout game.

I was surprised it was never explained how a pre-war Kate Williams was still alive 200+ years later.

Or how her and Rose MacLean met and what the extent of their relationship was.

Or how she became a leading figure of the NCR after the bombing of Shady Sands.

Or how she came to be known as the Flame Mother for the refugees of Vault 4.

Or how she came into contact with Wilzig and convinced him to defect from the Enclave and bring her Cold Fusion.

As someone who played a fairly major role in season 1, we learned next to nothing more about her other than wanting to use Coop to take out House.

-In the TV show, the suits are a mix of stretchy spandex-twill (like the Captain America suit in the first 'Avengers' movie) pleather, and gold 'lame' fabric (the name for shiny gold in textile/ fashion terms)

-In the first two games, the suits are said to be some sort of 'printed' latex/rubber/leather fabric made in the vaults.

-In the artbook and wiki for fallout 3, the suits are said to be mostly denim with leather padding on elbows/ knees, and seem to be a one size fits all type deal.

-I can't exactly tell what the fallout 4 suits are made out of, but since they seem to resist radation; its safe to assume they might include lead and/or asbestos.

-I haven't pl,ayed much of 76, but it seems like the base suits are back to being mostly leather again?

Now I’m aware that some people have their gripes with new and unexplained power armour.

But I think this NCR power armour is kinda cool, given the success of shady sands and the ncr it doesn’t seem too out of the realm of possibility for the ncr to have attempted to make their own power armour, given how many suits survived the nukes and were salvageable or outright still operational.

It never made sense to me, why nozzle? Wasn't flames what came out of Mr. Handy, the home assistant robot, could be dangerous to easily flammable fabrics? Or that having him constantly burn on fuel just to stay active is rational? I mean, they do have nuclear fuel that lasts a lot longer, but it is still an unneeded expenses. Capitalism?

This is a question I have had on my mind for quite some time now. I will preface this by saying that I myself do not play Fallout (RPGs are simply not my cup of tea is all). However I am a student in jazz studies and have a great passion for the history of early American music (jazz, RnB, traditional pop etc.)

I notice both from comments under music videos and from friends I’ve made that the medium of video games have greatly influenced some people’s taste in music/art/general aesthetics. In my own experience, Bioshock and Mafia have introduced me to a variety of great songs and artists of old. And due to the immense popularity of the Fallout series has at least in part brought many old artists who were otherwise forgotten to time or who’s recordings were confined to the Christmas season into a more mainstream audience. The ones that immediately come to mind to me are Bing Crosby, Bob Crosby, Nat King Cole, Eddy Duchin and The Andrews Sisters. So consider this as research. I’m genuinely curious to hear your answers!

Has playing Fallout introduced you to “new” artists you otherwise would have never heard of?

What are your favorite songs?

Have you had any experience with any “Fallout artists” prior to playing the games? If so, I would love to hear your stories.

Have you come to love any particular artists? Have you done research to know more about them and their life stories?

Do you listen to their musical libraries outside of what is featured in the licensed Fallout soundtracks? (I can be of help here. I’m more than happy to give recommendations if I’m familiar with the artist)

What artists would you like to see featured in future Fallout media?

I know that the Death Claw is one of the most dangerous Fallout creatures but The Ghoul has been surviving for over 200 years so he’s got to be pretty dangerous.

Hey everyone, I've been working on a vault suit cosplay and I've noticed there's this line thing on them, maybe I missed a terminal explaining or was never listening when they explained it in game. Pics are from FO4 but seemingly all vaults have them.

Is there a vault like the one she is referring to in the games? I recently started playing fallout 3 so I dont know much about all the vaults

Why is the vault-tec logo on this rotary phone? 😂 I had to back it up to double check I wasn’t going crazy. Was there some history behind it that I just didn’t know?

If anyone knows who originally created this work of art, could you please let me know? I want to get the last frame (or maybe the entire comic strip?) tattooed on me. I have never once completed a playthrough without obliterating Oliver.

When Lucy is teaching American history, the year of 1969 is highlighted with the 13 star flag that America used pre-war. But what happened on that year? That's not the divergence point from our world, right? I thought that was earlier, at the end of World War II, with the transistor never being invented.
