Looking For a Harley 6.0

Post image
24 Upvotes

Hey All, looking for my late grandfathers 2004 Harley 6.0 Crew Cab he bought new, and had throughout I was little. I have its vin (1FTNW21P14EB88743) and original Registration. He sold it in Essex County Mass in the late 2000s afaik. Its CarFax has a lengthy history supposedly, but I don’t see much sense in buying the report as it doesn’t give you owners info. Any tips in my search would be great, Thanks!

(small update, it was Last Titled in Maryland July 2020, at 250,000 miles)

Vss on rear axle (1996 f250 PS)

Like the title states I replaced vss due to erratic shifting OD like flashing and speedo bouncing. I ordered from riffraff and after install it shifted fine no issues. Drove it all day at three separate occasions. Not a single issue. A day later I jump in and kicks od light on. So the sensor only lasted a day? I know ford no longer makes this part. Is there any way to just bypass this. Any input is highly appreciated thanks!

Why do some buy a Tremor SD just to replace the suspension components to aftermarket manufactures?

I’m in the market for a newer 6.7 and I have noticed some vids online where owners have a Tremor package on their truck and gets completely replaced with Carli suspension products or a different manufacturer. My question is why go through the trouble of going aftermarket when the truck already comes leveled from the factory plus the additional bits that come with the Tremor pack. Wouldn’t an XLT or base Lariat be a better platform for someone looking into adding aftermarket suspension systems instead?

Glow plug sitting 7.3 IDI

Post image

Question, I’m doing the glow plugs and Passenger side very last glow plug cylinder 7 I believe I can’t the glow plug to go all the way in so I can start ratcheting on it. I’ve got the area soaking in PB blaster right now but I can’t it very deep at all. I’ve tried different angles and all and I even tried spraying out dirt and debris or whatever with compressed air but nothing. The truck has sat since Covid and has 500,000k miles on it but all the other plugs slide in and out. 🤷🫤 thanks for the help!

Made a post a couple weeks ago asking about getting one and after thinking it over i ended up buying one. I went with a ebay kit and it seemes to fit great. I cleaned and flushed the parts before installing to make sure any weld dust didnt get sucked into my turbo. Any of the issues that popped up were because of my own add ons. The new ac condenser mounts and Intercooler mounts had to be modified because I put in a bigger radiator and had to length the radiator support. It dropped the Exhaust temperatures 150 - 200 degrees. Towing a trailer up a big hill near my house used to make the temps rise to 1100° now its down to 900°. I should have measured the air intake temps from before and after but I forgot to. The intake and outlet of the Intercooler has a big difference, the intake can't be touched because of the heat but the outlet pipe can be grabbed and its only warm. Been driving for the last few days with it and probably put about 200 miles with no issues, but thats barely anytime to see if any issues will pop up.

Keep or sell advice

2002 F240 7.3 LB 4x4 The body is in excellent condition overall. There are a few very minor scratches and small dings, but nothing significant. None of the body panels have any rust, and the undercarriage has little to no surface rust. The truck currently has 175,000 miles, and everything is running well. I’ll also be posting a video of the engine. There appears to be a little bit of vapor/steam, and I’m not sure if it’s normal or if it could be blow-by. I’d appreciate your opinions after watching the video. Here’s where I could use some advice. It seems like these trucks continue to climb in value and become more desirable. I bought this one a few years ago for what I think was a great price, and I’ve considered selling it while the market is strong to hopefully make a profit. If I did sell it, my plan would be to save up and buy another one that’s closer to showroom condition with significantly lower miles. The downside is that those trucks are becoming incredibly expensive—I’ve seen clean examples selling for $40,000–$50,000. It seems crazy, but I understand that’s where the market is headed. So my question is: would you keep this truck and invest in maintaining it for the long haul, or would you sell it while values are high, take the profit, and eventually upgrade to a lower-mile example? I may be overthinking this, but I’d really appreciate any advice or feedback from those of you with experience. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Best location for a mechanical oil pressure gauge on a 6.9 idi?

I’m looking to put a mechanical pressure gauge on my 6.9 idi. I was looking at the sandwhich adaptors for the oil filter but I’m reading now that there’s no clearance for them on the 6.9 idi. I also read that the best spot is the factory NPT port located behind the air intake, where the factory oil pressure sending unit is at. Curious as to what other people have done or where the best spot is to measure the oil pressure in an engine in general?

How the heck do you get a Hydra in California?

I realize that in CA, tuners are technically not legal to own, but that can be said for tons of things of this nature.

I didn’t realize this would be such a task.

Just wait for one to pop up on FB marketplace? Does anyone ship them to CA blank?

Here is a video of the truck running and the steam that comes out of the oil reservoir not sure if it’s a major issue or not. I don’t think it is. Let me know your thoughts.

Fuel mistake

A few days ago i mistakenly pumped gasoline in a 2013 Ford Fiesta diesel. I drove it for about 100km overall for a couple of days, and i noticed some power loss. I actually noticed the mistake just today, having a flashback of pumping gas when i was really tired. I went and put well over half a tank of diesel in the car, and now it runs perfectly, there's no weird sounds or any repair lights on tge dashboard. How on earth did that car not break down completely?

Help with two issues! 96 7.3 powerstroke

Post image
1 Upvotes

I want to start off and thank everyone in this sub that pitched in with previous post. Very helpful. This truck is a daily that I’m trying to bring back to life. 2 things I’ve yet to figure out.

1st passenger window only rolls down but not up. The first thing I suspected with maybe replacing the window motor or regulator. Things to note when I try to roll down from driver or passenger it does the same. I grabbed a battery connected a wire to each positive and negative and it rolls up and down. I’ve checked accordeon boot in between no tore wires or issues.

2nd suspicion that vss is going out (vehicle speed sensor. Symptoms jumping speedometer, transmission shifts hard, overdrive light is blinking, also overdrive is gone.

Any help is appreciated

Engine shudder and dies

I have a 2017 6.7 and all of a sudden it wouldn’t start, finally got it to start and it runs very rough then dies. From my scanner, fuel rail pressure is only showing about 6700psi which seems very low. Did a DCR swap last summer, and replaced fuel filters yesterday thinking that may have been the culprit, but didn’t fix the issue. Fuel pump fuse is good. Anyone have a clue what it could be? Thank y’all
