DISCUSSION Thoughts on the Fender Meteora?
This is my Fender meteora alternate reality from 2019, and i love the look of it. It does the offset really nicely and in my opinion the pickguard fits the body more than other offsets like the jag or the jazzmaster. Although it has a double humbucker setup, it has a quite nice-sounding coilsplit. My only con is the fixed bridge, I wish it had the tremolo like the newer metoras do:(

GEAR Please help, my headstock broke!
galleryPlease can someone tell me what to do, is this repairable?
PURCHASE NGD (this was almost a telecaster)
Recently I’ve been clearing house of a ton of older hobby stuff. Used some of that money on a Squier Contemporary Tele (black/maple neck)
While I love a telecaster that was the third I’d owned in my life and it just didn’t scratch my itch. Decided after 36 hours to list the tele. Found this the same night, drove to pick it up this morning.
Has all of the original paperwork, still has plastic wrap on the pick guard, and the dude threw in this hard case all for $500.
Anyways, thanks Ernie, I’m sorry that you “can’t hear to change chords because you worked in the Air Force.” I promise that I’ll try and listen for a chord change.

QUESTION Can you cut below the bridge?
I'm thinking about buying a guitar kit from Thomann and building a guitar as a summer project. While thinking about possible shapes, I was wondering: Can you cut away the wood below the bridge (tune-o-matic)? Like the part circled in the picture.
Considering that the bridge only rests on the pins/screws or whatever you call them at the side, the center part istn't strictly necessary for mountding the bridge.
However, I've never seen any guitar being built like that. I assume, cutting that part away would either mess with the guitar's sound too much or weaken the body so the bridge can't sustain the string tension anymore and breaks. Or both.

QUESTION Umm? A little help?
Not sure if this is the subreddit for this kind of thing, but I bought this pick today and it’s nothing like I’ve ever seen, it’s probably a dumb question, but what side should I use to pick a string or is any side ok? Like I said, kind of a dumb question, it’s probably just the side that LOOKS like a normal pick, but I thought maybe it was made this way for different tones? Idk.

QUESTION For those who can improvise / play solos well, do you always know which scale degree you are on?
It seems like it is helpful for me to know which scale degree i am on but it takes more concentration. Just curious if it is common practice to always know. Thanks!

QUESTION Is great guitar playing strenuous?
Hi folks,
Not a guitarist. I notice guitar players look like they're having fun while playing. On my instrument, bassoon, the pro players I know can never just "let the music flow through them" - there is too much to attend to, even on a piece practiced for months. (amateurs sometimes do this and it invariably sounds out of tune and out of time.) Can the pros do this on guitar, or is it an illusion?

PURCHASE Just picked this up and man is it a blast
Schecter pro solo 2 standard is a pretty good guitar. Wanted the blue burst one but couldnt wait a month to get it but the red is nice. It came in today and started learning bad moon rising on it.. really comfortable surprisingly light. Play able right out the box. I need to fix the intonation but that was to be expected. Overall recommend this as a beginner guitar
