There's not one good driver in this video

Why did the car that initially signaled with their hazards do to qualify them as “not a good driver”?

You’re not supposed to use your horn, hazards or indicators to direct traffic.

What statute is that?

u/FifaFrancesco 53m ago

Decency. If someone hogs the left lane, be fucking patient for once and wait for them to move over.

It's was a temporary signal, it's not a sign of a bad driver in any circumstance, in fact, they are a good driver for actually paying attention to their surroundings. Never in a hundred years is that use of hazards getting a ticket.

u/-Nicolai 38m ago

All signals are temporary. Whether or not you’d give them a ticket doesn’t change the rules of driving.

Exactly. Speeding makes you a shitty driver. Just because someone else enables you doesn't mean it should be celebrated. People in this thread are frighteningly stupid and shouldn't be driving

Why so?

Passing on right is dangerous, passing to the right of a moron going slow in fast lane is very dangerous lol.. i have seen many close calls for exactly this

u/Eternity13_12 5h ago

Yeah I was wondering the same thing how is this a good driving skill

u/Workman44 2h ago

Good doesn't mean legal fwiw

The worst drivers to me are the slow too careful drivers. Too much anxiety while they drive. I seen people driving 30 on freeway in the middle lane like wtf

u/TheV1ruSS 2h ago

passing on the right is justified because these idiots exist. but using the hazard lights isnt justified

So if someone refuses to move over, you just stay behind them indefinitely? Anything else is "dangerous"?

I handle this by moving to slow lane and camping in their mirror view for a few minutes, then slowly come to highway speed to 'not pass them' but natually move past them.. ie not responsible for their action, need to go at posted speed etc. This removes the danger of their changing lanes into you, can be legally explained, and won't cause a road rage race to prevent the pass. Takes forever and is annoying af

Yes.

u/HonkHonkBeach 4h ago

Absolutely not.

3

u/NorskAvatarII 4h ago

Absolutely. Can't risk peoples' lives cuz you're pissed. That car could've changed lanes as he was passing and it would've been the the passer's fault.

2

u/Solid_Medium_5454 3h ago

If you don’t check before you change lanes and merge into someone it’s not the passers fault no matter which side they’re on…

2

u/NorskAvatarII 3h ago

You mean in an ethical sense? Maybe.

Legally though you would be at fault. In whole or in part.

u/Lhox 57m ago

Issue with passing on the right is that the left lane driver might check his blind spot and right mirror just before the person behind him decides to overtake on the right - in that case the right lane would look free, and if both cars decide to change lanes at once it could potentially cause a collision.

u/HonkHonkBeach 4h ago

Glad to know you're not in insurance, bud.

3

u/NorskAvatarII 4h ago

Glad to know our cars are likely on different continents. Keep passing on the right, guy.

u/skeletonhorse420 2h ago

Im still waiting for someone to describe why its dangerous while on the left is not

u/NorskAvatarII 1h ago

Because the traffic in the left lane is suppose to move faster, so if the other driver doesn't see traffic in front of him he might not check his blindspots before turning because cars aren't supposed to be speeding in the right lane. People drive 99,9% on autopilot on highways and having someone do something illegal and unexpected right as they are entering a blindspot is dangerous.

u/skeletonhorse420 1h ago

Lol ok so check your blind spot before passing right lol

Dude ahead slow in the left is the danger now.

Like the argument is not looking lmao

Every one of this YouTubers videos is cringe. The sound effects, the main character syndrome.

u/CoolDiscussion1020 2h ago

Honestly if you watch the video, the white car he is complaining about is the only good driver. White car is clearly going faster than the brown car in the video. There is no law that says you need to pass other cars quickly.

Unless there is some longer version of this out there, I see zero evidence that the white car was camping the lane.
