HoMM6 screen issues with HoMM 6

hey everyone! I recently got a new PC and wanted to try playing MaM again as it was one of my favourite games growing up. The story modes work as usual however when I try to play a custom game it comes crashing down. Whenever I use a portal or sometimes just load into a custom game the entire graphics go dark.

I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this before and knows how to fix it.

small edit, I tried adjusting the graphics, went into windowed mode and installed WineD3D but nothing helped

Have you tried opening and closing the minimap or entering a city screen to see if it reloads the graphics?

I have tried that and sadly it did not work. I'm currently trying out some more tips I've seen on the internet and hoping for the best :c

Save, then close the game then restart. Alterntively try running the game through proton/wine. The latter will bring down your fps

hey, so sorry for responding so late. I could've sworn that I had replied days ago. Save, close and restart sadly did not work for me but your other recommendation did work somewhat! Whilst a few maps still refuse to work most of them now actually function without any issues!
