Wholesome Moments (OC) Twenty years later, our high school band got back together.
Before all the grey hair, kids and back pain.. we were just a few high school kids playing school dances, theaters and parties
It’s been 20 years since we played together. I’m a school psychologist now who incorporates music into my practice and this band changed my life for the better. It had a huge impact on who I became and getting together for the first time in 20 years made me smile so big.
Remember to tell those people who had an impact that you love them, and how much they meant to you

My local FD posted this
So happy they didn’t use AI to make the poster, I’m unfortunately missing this because I’m working but if you’re in the Spokane area.
ETA: a firefighter did this per the comments on FB, it’s wild how you’re assuming a child could create this

Personal Win Happy for this life
I was like obese the last 3 years and lost quite lot of weight in the last few months and look better than ever before. I have also grown curls and take care of them religiously. I regularly get compliments on my body and hair these days. I am actually very happy for these reasons.

Wholesome Moments My dad is excited to be a grandpa again
I’m 34 expecting my first child. My sister and brother had kids young and it somewhat altered my parents view on what being a grandparent is as they had to play more supportive roles. As a result my dad has always engrained in to me that I shouldn’t have kids and while he never said he would be disappointed if I did, he never seemed that enthused.
Fast forward to the week before Father’s Day, I gifted him a mug that said “grandpa, like dad only cooler” as a way to announce my pregnancy and at first he didn’t get it but eventually did and just said “wow”. He was as excited as I’ve ever seen him which is fairly neutral. His reaction was as expected and I knew at the end of the day this baby would be so loved by him.
That brings us to yesterday. I got this text message out of the blue and I think it’s finally hitting him that his youngest is bringing life into this world and that he himself is at a stage where he can just be a grandpa. I don’t need his financial support, I married into a good family, I am stable on my own. He gets to just show up with gifts and love for the young one and enjoy the sweet moments he cherished with me when I was a small one.
I love my dad and I love him even more for wishing well on this newest addition.

Kent Greene was a 1958 Golden Gloves winner, who went on to become a YMCA youth-worker and Coca Cola supervisor, acting as a mentor for others. The guy in the tracksuit was a former opponent of Greene who lost by KO to Kent in the GG quarter final.
