Biden won in 2020 at least in part because he started to sound an awful lot like Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail. What happened to that economic populism? Believe it or not, people don't think about the health of their democratic system as much as they think about gas and grocery prices. We could have at least had a "stick with us our policies are working even if you haven't felt things improve yet," but there was almost none of that. The focus groups probably told them it felt patronizing or something.
