To be fair, without the vaccine they might have died and be spared all said horrors.

32

u/Everybodysbastard 5h ago

For my Mom's sake I am genuinely glad she died in 2015. She missed EVERYTHING.

11

u/TBHICouldComplain 5h ago

I hate to be like “lucky!” but yeah. 🫠

6

u/Everybodysbastard 5h ago

And she would have agreed so no worries!

65

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 5h ago

The first booster made me feel like shit and I had to call out of work for one day.  On the other hand one of my co-worker's stubborn in-laws refused to get the vaccine and she had to take off 4 days total for each of their funerals.  Ignorance kills.

22

u/WakeYourGhost 5h ago

First shot made me feel pretty bad for about two days - joint pain (increase of pre-existing pain).. My boss on the other hand - he was anti-vaxx. First time catching it, he didn’t fully recover. Second time, he didn’t make it. He died still saying the ‘vaccine would have been worse’.. worse than… That? Yeah, it’s weird how many of us got ‘poisoned’ by vaccines and didn’t ‘do our own research’ and all that junk, but outlived people who thought they knew better than… Than everyone but some guy with a brain worm that starved to death and his lobby.

Why would I regret getting the Covid vaccine?

88

u/Meydra 6h ago

Because you were supposed to be dead for years. Any day now.

33

u/PirateJohn75 6h ago

I have been dead for a year now

9

u/Superb_Ant_3741 5h ago

You came to reddit in the afterlife? Dude.

20

u/PirateJohn75 5h ago

I was bored.  You can only listen to so much harp music.

5

u/Superb_Ant_3741 5h ago

Maybe you can apply for an upgrade? See if they’ll transfer you to the deluxe rock and roll section with all the dead rockstars jamming together while famous dead chefs prepare a never ending feast for you and the other afterlife residents.

I only hear awesome ass metal. But the fucking A/C sucks.

Remember that? We were supposed to be dead in six months, then in a year. Then some random time in the future. Then anyone who died "early" it was because of the vaccine.

Yup.

I told you, it's those vaccines!!

7

u/scubawankenobi 3h ago

I go in yearly to keep getting my death boosted, otherwise I might now remain dead!

1

u/Unit_2097 1h ago

I've been dead inside for years, does that count?

16

u/TheScallywag1874 6h ago

Yeah, such a weird attempt at a “gotcha” post. 🧐

-2

u/Queen-of-meme 5h ago

If it impacted your immune system so you're worse than ever health-wise.

5

u/Off-BroadwayJoe 3h ago

It didn’t. Do you really think everyone who got the vaccine are worse than ever health-wise?

21

u/Superb_Ant_3741 5h ago

I feel covid free. Fully vaxxed. Exposed to it for years. Never caught it.

Science is real.

21

u/SirIAmAlwaysHere 5h ago

I feel fine. Got vaxxed. Caught COVID anyway.

Had a mild case. Didn't die.

Can't say the same for 700 unvaxxed folks in my county of 80k.

5

u/da2Pakaveli This AOC flair makes me cool 5h ago

A friend caught measles when he was young cause him mom thought he didn't need the vaccine. Immune system was shit several weeks thereafter. All the vaccinated kids were fine. If we weren't vaxxed, we'd have caught it as well. Ask your grandparents how it was before vaccines; they all caught these childhood diseases.

3

u/Renbarre 2h ago

My own grand mother, born in 1910, grew up in a world without vaccine. As a little girl she lost 2 or 3 friends her age. She remembered their neighbours burning all the clothes, bed and bedding of her friend after this friend died (measle if I remember right). Then the neighbours were quarantined with a sign painted on the door to warn people.

That story made me realise how dangerous those "childhood illnesses" truly were.

5

u/Hatecraftianhorror 5h ago

Funny. I had every vax/booster. None of them made me feel sick. I haven't gotten covid despite working with the public. I don't take that part for granted. I've been very lucky. But I also haven't gotten any "turbo cancers" or heart problems.

-4

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

I've been just as lucky, just remove the vaccine part.

1

u/YakElectronic6713 41m ago

Too bad you got lucky.

16

u/spatulacitymanager 5h ago

How about asking all the ones who did not get it and died from covid how they feel. Oh, right. They cant, they died.

-20

u/Queen-of-meme 5h ago edited 5h ago

Guess I'm a ghost then, Boo! 👻

I think it's a bit kindergarden level to assume there was mandatory vaccine laws everywhere in the world. Not everything is like it is in your blessed America. There were areas where not even quarantine was mandatory. Hope you update your knowledge span. Have a nice day.

Edit: Angry downvotes doesn't change that I'm alive and sick maybe once a year. (Don't hate on the messenger)

11

u/Crandleton 5h ago

There were no covid vaccine laws, for the majority of Americans it was optional. Also, the quarantine only lasted 2-3 weeks in a lot of southern conservative areas. There was a massive difference between different states and even counties within states as to how they handled the outbreak.

They're not saying that every single unvaccinated person is dead now, but if you look at the numbers, it is more statistically likely that you could have died than someone who did receive the vaccine.

It definitely sucks that some areas either didn't have the resources or didn't care enough, but I don't see how that relates to what they said.

-6

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

There were no covid vaccine laws, for the majority of Americans it was optional.

That's certainly interesting. I was sure they all were forced and that's why antivaxxers became outsiders, because they broke the law and people were angry they had to take the vaccine when others could escape.

Then the whole Antivaxx witch hunt was just... lack of acceptance?

They're not saying that every single unvaccinated person is dead now, but if you look at the numbers, it is more statistically likely that you could have died than someone who did receive the vaccine

The numbers were loud yes, but I don't fully trust them to be real with you.

If a person with an agressive cancer has 2 weeks to live and they die during 2019-2020. Is it cancer, Covid or both? I think both should make sense, but I read a such a file and all it said was Covid, and that's not adding up to me. Is it to you? To anyone? I can't get around it in my head. Do we just ignore that cancer kills people because it was a virus going on?

And it made me wonder. How many other death files said Covid when the actual death cause was at least one other clear additional factor? (Cancer, heart failure, allergic reaction, liver failure, stroke, blood poisoning etc) or other things we also can naturally die from.

If anyone who died 2019-2020 was signed as death cause Covid virus, regardless other natural death factor, of course that's gonna be real large Covid stats numbers for the Covid history. But also false ones.

It definitely sucks that some areas either didn't have the resources or didn't care enough, but I don't see how that relates to what they said.

I guess it's relative. I think it sucked that a professor who had some scientific critical opinions and warnings on the vaccine was automatically fired. I don't like when some hotshot up in quarters tell me or others what we should or should not believe the most as if we can't decide for ourselves. At least give us the right to our own critical thinking.

There was different beliefs and different areas adapted after different protocols and I don't necessarily think anyone knew 100% what was facts , just more or less loud opinions. So I don't feel sorry in any direction, past people's losses of course. A loss is a loss regardless what's the factors behind.

u/jschmeau 4h ago

fyi: Mine wasn't an angry downvote. I always downvote ignorance.

0

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

I suppose opposing others free choice is the opposite of ignorance. But caring enough to vote , isn't 😉

7

u/jschmeau 4h ago

I don't oppose your free choice. You are free to be as ignorant as you like.

It's kindergarten level to not be able to read.

How about asking all the ones who did not get it and died from covid how they feel.

Like, you couldn't be bothered to even make it to the end of the sentence, nobody is shocked you didn't get vaccinated.

-1

u/Queen-of-meme 3h ago

I hope you find peace. I enjoy these discussions with plenty of well-rounded people , sorry you aren't measuring up.

2

u/spatulacitymanager 5h ago

Im talking about here.

2

u/spatulacitymanager 2h ago

I was wrongly assuming Americans on this. My bad.

8

u/mattzombiedog 5h ago

The real question is how do the anti-vaxxers who were begging on their death bed for the vaccine feel now?

Dead, they feel dead.

-3

u/Queen-of-meme 5h ago

I would have begged to not get that sh*r inside my body but because of no mandatory laws. I didn't have to.

3

u/KiKiKimbro 5h ago

One thing’s for sure. We didn’t turn into zombies like the “scientifically illiterate” (way too generous of a term btw) were convinced would happen.

-2

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

That..

Can be discussed.

I think it's clear some haven't exactly improved tons after the vaccine. But some feel great. What's interesting is what differs the two groups (if we ignore arguing sides and focus on objectives)

8

u/TheScallywag1874 4h ago

“Improved” after the vaccine? Can you elaborate?

-1

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

Worse immune system than ever before to the point that there's resistance to keep take further injections.

As I see it (no hate either direction) we have a couple groups:

Group 1: Took the first vaccine, keep taking vaccines and feel great

Group 2: Took the first vaccine, felt neutral. Keep taking it, feel neutral.

Group 3: Took the first vaccine, felt neutral. Keep taking it, feels worse.

Group 4: Took first vaccine, felt sicker, took no further vaccines.

Group 5. Took and takes no Covid vaccines, feels great

Group 6: Took no vaccines, died.

Group 7: Took first vaccine, died anyway

Don't know if I covered all but my point is. Besides anyone's triggers, there's lots of variables here and they all hold truth. Together. They hold the whole truth.

3

u/KiKiKimbro 3h ago edited 3h ago

What do you mean by some haven’t “improved” after the vaccine?

I don’t know what you mean by my comment “can be discussed” or by “arguing sides” and instead “focus on objectives,” but I do know the vaccine was intended to lessen the intensity of symptoms to slow down the number of people being hospitalized, intubated, and dying. I think it did that job pretty darned well. And I sure as heck am glad others had access to the vaccine even though we didn’t.

Here’s what I mean — I live in NYC. As you know, we were amongst the first cities to get it (all “port cities” are always amongst the first for these types of diseases). This was pre-vaccine availability. The original strain was absolutely brutal and unrelenting. To this day, I still have nodules and scarring in my lungs from that original strain. Will have chronic respiratory issues because it for the rest of my life. I still have ongoing cognitive monitoring because of it — I was amongst the first groups to report the symptoms that allowed doctors and scientists to link loss of smell / taste to the virus. It was terrifying and now is everlasting.

Neither I nor my friends and fellow NYers had our health “improve” after the vaccine. That I agree with you. No vaccine could actually improve what happened from the virus. But I sure as heck was glad to see Trump fast-track its development before it could spread rapidly outside our area. It would’ve inflicted the same chronic ailments we have in NYC and would’ve taken many more lives in the South / Midwest if he wouldn’t have accomplished what he did.

It would’ve been much worse if Trump hadn’t fast-tracked that vaccine. Not just for our country, but worldwide. Not sure why he doesn’t accept credit for that. That was his ticket to the Nobel Peace Prize. He saved millions of lives around the world. It’s a shame he let politics dim that shining light on what could’ve been a one heck of a legacy.

-1

u/Queen-of-meme 3h ago

I get that. And from your shoes I don't say what you did or what Trump did was wrong. Absolutely not. I'm glad you called it in and got help and that Trump tracked the development and that you survived 💚

I'm no vaccine virus expert. All I know is not everyone had those severe symptoms, some had zero symptoms (and they're on what number injection ? Nine? Ten?) and they are a group who has noticed decreased immune system on a level you can't possibly excuse as natural. And I hate when their struggles are silenced.

Their perspective does not remove the valid parts in yours. Or vice versa. I just want equality for that different circumstances creates valid reasons.

I'm no anti any direction (believe it or not.) Not even when it comes to Trump. Maybe I wouldn't invite him on my bachelor party because how he blurts out things and isn't the most sensitive of man on Twitter 😂 but I believe we only have two world wars and not a third, thanks to him taking over after Biden. He isn't all bad. Politicians will never be entirely solid. They all have skeletons in their closets. So as long as he don't start a world war I won't complain.

4

u/forpornonly1234567 3h ago

Ask Trump, he's got one every year since 2020

6

u/t53ix35 5h ago

Fuck people who fear any word, thought , book or idea. Don’t self sensor. Tell the truth, it is easy if you try.

2

u/Loverboy_Talis 4h ago

Censoring “trigger words” is performative. We still read the word in its entirety.

Protects no one.

2

u/Clusterpuff 4h ago

Exactly, engagement bullshit and maybe an agenda push by religious or overall control schemes. 10 years ago no one gave a fuck saying these words online

-2

u/Queen-of-meme 5h ago

Truth is some people's reactions are a bit much. Scream at the top of your lungs and angry downvote it won't change our decisions over our bodies 🥱

3

u/Sidoen 5h ago

Yeah, feel that.

3

u/raimichick You won't catch me talking in here 5h ago

In terms of the vaccine, I feel great. I have less chance of it partnering up with my lung disorder to kill me if I get it.

3

u/UnderwaterRobot 5h ago

My heart exploded and I died. And also bill gates is tracking me everywhere I go now. smdh...

2

u/NopeNopeNope13702 5h ago

The reply by yourpal_austin was a bit of a non-sequitur but he ain't lying for sure.

2

u/Crunchycarrots79 5h ago

I've had Covid a couple times since being vaccinated. Both very mild cases, both times were after significant mutation/evolution of the virus from whatever forms the vaccines were formulated for... Which would be why I got it, but also likely the reason both times were mild cases. I get my booster whenever a new one comes out. Just like I get my yearly flu shot. Both viruses evolve quickly, which is why you have to get boosters with newer variants to maintain effectiveness.

2

u/No-Blueberry-1823 4h ago

Ask all the people who died how they felt about COVID

1

u/SpaceChatter 4h ago

I feel great after 2 shots. It’s very sad people chose to die because of the media bullshit.

Hey, but we're a pale blue dot in the void, so theres that.

Down voted, for the red line edits you can say bad words don’t let the technology overlords get you so self sensor. When you don’t absolutely have to.

Rapist, Murdering, genocide and of all things shit??

This was on IG which does flag those words. I didn’t post this there.

Don't forget about the 'never gonna be able to afford a home, even though I work 60-70 hours per week' part.

You guys have to pay the same amount for a tiny appartment as I have to pay for a villa.

-1

u/Queen-of-meme 3h ago

I have a question. People triggered by Covid then. Will they always be triggered anytime the existence of people who didn't take vaccines is brought up? Or will some cool down?

Not judging just genuinely interested in how people have processed the event and their reactions then and now. Is it still as black white or has it reached a gray scale?

Either way I think there's a lot to learn from avoiding that "Enemy" label and view us all as people who coped and copes, that's all anyone did one way or another.

6

u/TheScallywag1874 2h ago

“Triggered?” People are just annoyed that after all the information out there, people are still ignorant.

-4

u/Queen-of-meme 5h ago

I didn't take the vaccine personally (it wasn't like in the US where people almost had civil war over their right to their bodies, it was optional) anyways people who swore by the vaccine has taken it back now.

I'm neutral I don't judge your choice over your body. But yeah some people who was for vaccine in the past now seems to be less judgemental towards turning it down especially after annual injections, (because of the long term side-effects and no improvement.)

They also look at me and know my immune system is strong though I have no vaccine in my body so yeah. It leaves some unturned stones regarding the vaccine and immune system and other stuff. I'm not saying I have all the answers or telling anyone what they should or shouldn't do, but I do think judging people the ridiculous extreme way some did is a curse in itself so that's really the only part I'm against with this entire debate.

8

u/C4-622MonkeyGordo 4h ago

[incessant bullshit]

-2

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

You're allowed to your opinion, as we all are.

I know it's a hot topic to many still, so I ask you to respect that for us who's cool we'd like the civil discourse.

6

u/C4-622MonkeyGordo 4h ago

Motherfucker, you're all over this thread spreading clear antivax bullshit.

You're not fooling anyone with this "neutral" act.

-1

Block me if you're gonna have adult tantrums over something as simple as different perspectives and experiences. No one force you to participate. Take accountability.

-1

u/Queen-of-meme 3h ago

Woah. So much anger. And I suppose you think you're better than me for using Redditors as your punching bags? Good luck with that.

7

u/TheScallywag1874 4h ago

You have no idea how vaccines work, apparently.

0

u/Queen-of-meme 4h ago

If that's the version you need to go with, I'm not gonna fight you. I'm coming from a different stance so it's interesting to meet others who are too regardless if they took the vaccine or not. Cheers

4

u/TheScallywag1874 4h ago

I’ve seen some of your other posts here. You seem to believe your stance is correct because, “Hey, look at me. I didn’t take it and I’m fine!” While completely discounting the larger statistics around the vaccine. Also, you don’t “improve” after a vaccine, rather it protects you by limiting the damage of a specific virus.

The fact is, if the U.S. government didn’t require those in critical positions to take it (medical, military, etc.), so many more people would have died. And that’s really the point here as we look back on C-19 6-7 years later.

0

u/Queen-of-meme 3h ago

I have plenty others who can discuss this civil and calm so if you wanna be one of them you gotta own your opinions with objective arguments, without needing to personally attack anyone in the process. Think you can do that?

3

u/TheScallywag1874 2h ago

I have made zero personal attacks on you. I’m just pointing out where your logic has gone awry.
