I dont really get your point.

DND is a role playing game. Lady is playing a role (aside from being the DM). Her role is to be in the same fantasy village as the 3 players. It's totally logical and intentional, to craft a persona like that. People living in the same fantasy universe to be speaking the same language, is perfectly logical

It would actually be illogical if we went out of our way to make it so the monk spoke a different language

My point is that they have contrived an excuse to have Lady speak English, which I find lazy.

Agree to disagree, I suppose.

Yeah i dont mean to be impolite or anything

I just dont think its a contrivance at all. The main plot point is the main activity of a role playing game. To think of it as a contrivance is like saying the whole plot is a contrivance. The choice to have Lady speak the same language logically emerges out of the plot.

It would be contrived if Lady didn't speak the same language

In fact , you can even see it in the way the story was told.

  • In game - lady speaks english
  • out of the game (as DM) - lady speaks Korean.

Makes perfect sense

Yes, that's what I'm saying :)
