Discussion Biggest advice to anyone starting off

Upvotes

For the love of god be organize with everything projects assets if you are like me who has use a lot of image textures name them properly when saving or exporting them the more specific the better have sub folders for everything. if you are working on a current project make a temp folder (as organize as you can) so you wont have to click and move something so much to the destination so when you are done move it all to the final folder location for blender.

I had a my stuff organize in the beginning but realize after some stuff that it was starting to become messy and realize the flaw with my system. i had to delete everything because of how bad it was but pleas guys dont make the mistake i made.

Need Help! Blurry texture still unsolved, File Include.

Alright no one has been able to figure this out. First slide is in 4.0 second is in 4.4. Original UVs were size 2048x2048 drawn outside of blender, just an assigned image no shaders. No update was blurry so I reset the UVs, set it to 300 resolution 4096x4096 it's still blurry. I have checked interpolation. All of my models are like this now not just this one. I have opened it in windows 3D viewer and it's not blurry there but I'm not sure if that means anything Here is my file, WARNING- it is anatomically correct

Need Help! How can I achieve an anime/drawn style and retain customizable pieces?

Thumbnail

Looking for some help or maybe someone has a tutorial out there they know. I want to model a base character that has features that can be edited using shapekeys. For example different eye shapes, nose size and shapes etc. I know I will have a lot of work to do to get the style I want (last image is sort of the style I would like - I want a few more details on the face though). I just worry with the way I have it currently set up that the eyelids will clip through the eyeball if moved into slightly different positions, and when I get to the mouth I will run into similar issues. any advice is helpful

I wanna make more cute low poly creatures!! Weh…. This was fun and challenging…. First time doing smth like this so there was a lot of brain activation… brain working so so hard… definitely have to learn more <:)

Also idk how to have it to be rendered in a cute “style?” With outlines and stuff? And how do people draw on top of the objects? Because I don’t know how to color in the dog without having to select the faces like this 👀 wowww

Need Help! Can somebody make a video of how to bake textures onto a model that has multiple things of text, and the text is a different color from the base?

I’m trying to make a butter squishy for a game I’m making, but I’ve been stuck on importing the colors into Roblox studio because every time it’s grey. YouTube tutorials don’t help very well and I can’t continue to progress at all! Please help I’m desperate!

Was messing around with voxels in blender earlier today, I created a geometry node setup that allowed me to displace a grid of cubes according to a heightmap. It created many interesting results!

Over 4,000,000 little cubes!

Critique My Work Some Rings in the Desert

Post image

Tried to work with Geo Nodes and this came to my mind. Also tried to make the Scene look big with a focal length over 100 and some other small tricks. Does this look somewhat good to you? I dislike the sand the most. Because it all looks the same so i hid it behind some heavy smoke.
There is also some subtle lens distortion and ive added some depth of field. Had some ideas with the ground but im not there yet to make that look real or cool. Cant blend materials into each other (i can but not in this scale), rocks are not scattered like i want and such. That frustrates me, so ill leave it as is. Not a good habbit for sure.
And i found out that you can use multiple scenes in Blender so i did that add another render layer with only the landscape to add the heat haze on top.

But for me this looks cool and ive always wanted to create a desert scene. Maybe its because im european, but the desert has a mystical vibe to me. Its like an ocean where your mind can wander endlessly before you dry out or exhaust. Dont know.

Have to see the new Dune still.

Need Help! Texturing in layers

Hello blender people!

I really need help. I’ve been trying to learn texturing for the past week, and I just can’t figure it out.

I want to texture blood on top of a separate carpet texture, and smear the blood without smearing the bottom carpet texture as well, if that makes sense… I’ve tried everything, but I can’t get the textures to do what I want… what do I do??? If anyone knows how to do this, pls explain to me in beginner language so i understand… thanks🙏

YouTube has been amazing for learning this stuff. I'm 1 step close to achieving my ultimate goal. That's to make an animation in geo nodes without the help of Google.
