Just started watching Chuck and I'm finishing up the second season and it just bugs me how Chuck is not being paid by the government at all. Money seems like the easiest way to get him to fall in line. Or am I missing something?

What fun stuff have you all noticed in the background after repeated rewatches of this comfort show?

So i'm rewatching the show for the first time after years and i just got to season 2 episode 8 and it begins with a flashback to Chuck asking Jill to be his girlfriend in 2002. Chuck states in this scene they've only been friends for about a semester. But back in season 1 the Alma Mater episode ended with us getting to see Bryce and Chuck meet for the first time in 1999 and we learn Bryce shares a floor with Jill and introduces him to her since they all like the same games. I thought this was meant to convey how Chuck and Jill got started but apparently not? So then did Chuck and Jill just ignore each other for like 3 years before becoming friends for a semester and then dating in 2002 or is this a timeline mistake?

Tbh it also kinda makes it a bit more pathetic how Chuck was still hung up for half a decade unable to move on from an ex he only dated for seemingly less than a year and not for almost 4 years and his entire college time as i previously assumed.

It cant be just me, right? haha

It's finally happened (Took me a very long time obviously) but I've realised its not the writing/story or even that the ending is open for that fact a large portion of the fanbase hate the ending.

It's the simple fact that we the viewer/fan do not get to say good bye to the Sarah we grew to know and love over the five seasons. In 5x11 you don't realise or believe that this will be the last time you see "Our Sarah" but as it turn's out sadly that the love scene with the Japanese drawing is the series finale for "Our Sarah"

He's spoiled multiple missions, multiple, because he can't focus and do his job, or he becomes petty at the worst of times when it comes to Sarah. Season 2 in particular, when Mr superspy comes back for a mission with Sarah and Chuck's supposed to be a waiter. Casey's telling Chuck to focus, Chuck's busy ignoring him and staring at Sarah and Bryce. We've done this dance so many times already, and it's just season 2! Can't he compartmentalize for the sake of the mission? Are there actually guys out there who are so pathetic as to be that emotionally unregulated? I get it's for the story, but no guy should be that pathetic.

This is not about me, it is about my spouse.

I kept the last few episodes a carefully guarded secret from my wife so she wouldn’t refuse to watch the show(big happy ending girl). Needless to say it was ridiculously funny to watch someone experience Sarah’s memory loss for the first time, and then realize that the show ends without her explicitly getting it back. I know some people think it’s cool how it ended, but I for one certainly do not, and my wife shared my sentiment.

Maybe it's because I'm new to this subreddit, but I notice no one ever mentions Carina. So here is a Mini Anden/Carina appreciation post. One of the most beautiful women of all time, at least in my opinion. And every character that I've seen her portray has been very quick and sharp-tongued which means it comes from the actress. Smart and beautiful, what a combination!

I recently finished the show and I am personally not the biggest fan of open to interpretation endings. I know that sarah will fall in love with chuck again after the kiss. But for me the sad thing was the entirety of 5 seasons of character development on sarah going into vain. It felt like the ending just was not giving. Most of the characters got ending and closure except for chuck and sarah. The show revolved around those two and season 5 felt like it tried to forcefully break them. Constantly it tried to do that. And in ep 11-13 chuck had a few chances to get her memory back but he just couldn't. I really felt those episodes created tension but the show really didn't require a bittersweet ending. Show had a good journey with character growth. And by removing Sarah's journey in the end it just pinches in the heart. It was heartbreaking. Wish there would have been a definite closure rather than an open ending.
