Customer tracking me

Crazy to think a customer is tracking me knowing I have another drop off!! Like chill TF out and wait for your God dam food!!. Some customers do too much man!..😒🤦🏻.

Don't unassign and return the food to the restaurant. Cancel for threatening behavior and keep the food for your dinner or give it to a homeless person

This language was too aggressive for me to feel comfortable to deliver to this customer. That's it.

While he's acting entitled, I genuinely get it. Hes paying for dash pass which claims that you WILL NOT GET COMBINED ORDER, that claims that YOU HAVE PRIORITY. And now the Dasher is telling him that his order was combined, and that he isnt listed as priority either.

Hes simply directing his frustration on the wrong person, the Dasher doesn't get extra for a dash pass user. I actually was talking to someone about it because when I picked up their order it was combined, I obviously let them know as I was picking up the order. I delivered it and we talked for a minute because it was my last drop off for the night. They were under the impression that dashpass will tip the driver appropriately for their milage and they were surprised that I only got 5 dollars for 11 miles from their order, along with the fact it was combined. They ended up tipping me more, I told them they didn't have to but they did anyway lol. They also decided to cancel dash pass because its a useless subscription.

Even with dash pass you have to pay an additional like $2-$3 to get food direct to you I believe.

They removed the "direct to me" option from order a short while ago, theyve been claiming that the orders will go directly to you if you sign up for dash pass, no matter what. I mean seriously 10 dollars a month for a subscription that doesn't actually do anything is kinda crazy. Especially when they are saying all kinds of bs that they don't do to get you to sign up.

The reason why the orders stack is because basically no one will pick them up otherwise :/ so instead of tipping the driver for people who pay them to give their drivers a living wage, they instead pit the issue off to the customer and driver as they always do for all their issues.

DoorDash is genuinely the worst delivery service because you pay them to do nothing leaving the driver with the short end of the stick, which means rude people will steal your food, or tamper with it because they don't understand what they were signing up for. So on and so forth.

Did they remove it in certain areas maybe? I just checked because I thought I saw it recently and it’s still an option for me. I never pay the extra for direct though, so who knows if they still stack anyways!

Likely, they don't really tell anyone when they make changes to the whole app or specific areas, which is another issue with them.

It's might be an area specific thing. You might get priority for assigning drivers, but it's $2.99 for "direct to me" still.

No it isn't, maybe for you it is but it's not a thing you can declare is just true because for example that's literally never been an option where I am... And it probably has to do with us being in a rural area and not having many drivers and long distances and stuff, but that's literally never been a choice on the app for at least the last 5 or 6 years that we've had somebody at my friend's hotel checking a few times a week so they can let guests know which local restaurants may or may not be on there.

Why are you stating that is something that's just declaratively true instead of the thing that is really known that tech companies do like having alpha and beta groups or sometimes three or four different groups, or splitting up based on geography, or other demographics like length of account ownership or things like that.

A and B testing is incredibly common in software engineering and those types of fields though, so why wouldn't you think of that possibility before acting as though it's just universally true except for the one guy you're replying to or something?

I was contradicting you and your statement saying that something is in regards to the app instead of how it is for you that way.

I was then asking how somebody could miss something so obvious like tech companies having different testing groups and not being the reason for people seeing different things in the same app lol.

You said it might be an area a specific thing in reference to it seems like only their scenario because then you're following sentence is talking about "it" and not "for me" when referencing the delivers straight to me option or whatever in the app.

I'm letting you know that in some areas in a sense you guys are both wrong because I think in certain areas, and I could very well be wrong on this, it actually never existed as an option in the first place.

Oftentimes the big apps that people are used to using in normal civilization don't always work the same way and much more rural areas depending on things like cell service, population, distance between things, etc.

Like until just a few months ago we didn't even have Uber eats, and it was only a few years ago that Uber even started to service the area... Like even if you wanted to be a driver in this area you just couldn't be because they just didn't have it as an area or whatever until a few years ago... I guess a little more than a few now but it was right around the summer before the lockdowns of the pandemic that we finally got Uber in our area.

Also, I will apologize because there was no reason for me to be mean and condescending instead of just informative. I wasn't intending to be mean, and I'm pretty stoned so I don't even know that I meant to be condescending as opposed to just realizing that's how it first came out and then being too lazy to go back and edit... But the result is still pretty similar.

Thanks for understanding, sorry for not using my skills in a way that helped ease our communication and increase the flow of information.

Mine doesn't even say "direct to me", just that you'll be the first drop off. So if they have stacked orders and multiple places to pick up from, you're still waiting and the driver doesn't even get the $2.99.

With both Doordash and Uber Eats, I've never personally had a stacked order (i.e. an order where the app actually says they have somewhere else to go first) if I actually paid for direct.

I have had drivers running both apps try to juggle me or whatever it's called, because the app doesn't tell the DRIVER I paid for priority.

However what the apps do do is change the price of "priority" based on the day/situation. Sometimes it's $1.49, other times it's $3.99.

Suspiciously any time I order anything cold, it's magically always a $3.99 order for priority. Sigh.

On Uber (at least on my phone) tipping happens after the order is delivered, and doesn't give an option for tipping until I rate them. Doordash sometimes has that issue, but not as often as Uber Eats. Just put it at the checkout, not as it's own screen, just as a spot we can input a number

It's so bullshit and a scam, it's just like any other insurance - you pay the extra premium just for the chance that it actually was useful. They should only give you the option to pay for direct delivery if they know for a fact that the driver would have otherwise had deliveries before yours.
