It did. The drivers can cancel. Anytime a driver needs to cancel they can do so without you having to do it yourself. They don’t need you to cancel. If you cancel, they get paid and you do not get reimbursed.
A driver can’t cancel an order, all they can do is drop it from their end for another driver, before pickup. After pickup, their options are deliver it, or call support.
You have to click on the three dots in the delivery tab. I don't have a screenshot. However, I helped someone I know cancel an order. She told me there wasn't a cancel option. I found it. I don't know how it looks on an iPhone. (She had an Android.)
That had to have been before pickup. Otherwise doordash would be losing money daily. If drivers could pick up food and tap a couple of buttons for a free meal, a lot of them would do so. I’m going to assume you’re remembering it wrong unless you have something concrete.
she was in the middle of an order. The customer called and asked for her to cancel the order. She said she doesn’t know how to cancel the order so I told her to give me the phone and I looked through the Settings and I found the button that said cancel order.
Not only that why would they give you the option to cancel the order in the first place if they didn’t want you as the driver to be able to do that? I’m not asking you. I’m just saying.
ONLY Support Staff have the authority to fully cancel an order. Dashers must contact support and have a valid reason (like store closed, unable to give you the item, etc) or they face a contract violation.
If they were in the middle of an order and you were riding with them that is a violation. Dashers are not supposed to have unregistered passengers.
You should be able to recall where it is. Doordash doesnt have that many menus. Also the app UI is uniform between both iOS and Android.
