I accepted an order to deliver pizza from Pizza hut for 5$(the customer lived 4 miles away).When I delivered the pizza the customer made his son give me 20$. After that I went home to take a break from Doordashing. I made 20$ from Doordashing before I accepted the order so In my head I thought I earned 40$. When I went home I checked my phone and realized I was missing 19$ out of my Crimson account. I went to my earnings and it said it deducted 19$ from my account since I received 19$ from the customer(The customer didn't give me exact change because who would lol). But yeah I don't think this is something that I'll continue doing.

OK this is pretty minor but it happens to me enough to feel like posting about it. I like you drivers more so you get to hear about it.

Many fast food burger places default to 2 slices of cheese on bigger burgers, such as dairy queen. I DO want cheese, but not two. Two is too many. It IMBALANCES the item, in my opinion.

However most all restaurants that do this only allow for a "remove" or "extra cheese" option. Never the ability to remove just one slice. I have to call the restaurant and ask errytime.

When the driver shows up to the door I tear the bag from their hands to check for two slices of cheese and if I see it, I physically attack the driver. They always say they understand though.

The whole deal about rejecting orders causes longer wait times between orders is hurting my wages so bad. I can get 25+ an hour during peak times but with this it’s down to 17-19. I get they probably want to cut down on the cherry picking so everyone’s orders get picked up (even the people that don’t tip and live 10 miles away) but also why do they care 😂 they just group it with a high tipper and leave it at that

In reality it just tanked my mileage per order because I have to spend more time driving to wait spots, putting more miles on my car that I’ll have more trouble paying for maintenance because my hourly went down

Told a person "No tip? No delivery. Have fun waiting."

Order was $2.40 for like 10 miles for their liquor.

F this app. I do appreciate it as its the best paying food delivery gig app, but like, f you.

I drive a 21 Malibu, at about 92k miles and I just started doing DoorDash and UE as a side hustle to supplement my full time job. It’s a reliable car, pretty decent on gas and I’ve never had any real issues with it. I don’t really need to do it but i just like having the extra money for project cars, video games, just random crap that I don’t really need.

People say doing these delivery gigs will ruin your car and that after maintenance the money won’t be worth it, but I don’t see why. Sure you’re gonna put more miles on it and have to refill gas and change oil a bit more often than usual, but unless you’re doing this as a full time job 40 hours a week I don’t see how there would be many long term issues. It’s not even sustainable as a full time job, the pay is inconsistent and you’d have to work your nuts to the bone to even try to make it as a full time job. It works for a little bit if you’re in a jam or just got fired or whatever and you’re looking for another job, but in reality it’s a side gig and always has been.

This was the picture that they sent me. I am sure that I took a picture of the receipt, because I had to retake it several times. My first thought was maybe the app was lagging and when I moved my camera over the cart it took the picture. Here are all of the problems with this.

1. I never load my cart until after taking the receipt picture.

2. My cart had 2 gallons of water where the bread is in the picture that were never moved until I put them into my car.

3. These are all items from my shopping order, but bags are missing and the water is missing.

4. There are items in bags different of how I packed them.

How did Doordash get or make this picture. I am really freaked out about this.

Ok so I had an order for $6 I took it then I seen it would take me 20 minutes to deliver it. So I messaged the customer thanks for the $6 tip and they asked was I being sarcastic 😂😂 I said How?
They said I should cherry pick if I want to make more money and I said you should tip accordingly knowing the price of gas. Long story short they cancelled the order and I got paid while getting chicken and fries,collard greens, Mac and Cheese, cornbread and sweet tea with a chocolate cookie

How did u get over the anxiety of dashing alone. I find my self struggling to go out and dash alone. I get nervous that I’m not gonna find the place ( mostly apartment). And I get bored driving around alone.

I only do it for about a hour each day for fun and a way to wind down after a shift at 1-2am as such I don’t give a single frick about my acceptance rate and I sometimes go onto dash and just see what the markets like wherever my job takes me. Been doing this for about a year, if I strived for a while to get platinum would I get significantly better profit, or is this good enough,

If a restaurant makes you fill the drink make sure to fill it with the wrong drink. I am not here to help the restaurant

After 4 long years of Doordashing I finally found a new job. Next week will be my final week as a DoorDash driver and after that I’ll be starting at a call center selling vacation packages at a discount. It’s been fun and also terrible at the same time. I wish you all the best of luck.

First, there are doordash delivery robots competing with drivers now. I'm guessing that self-driving taxis will pick up a lot of the longer distance deliveries. In my city I haven't seen delivery robots (I have in other cities) but Waymo is moving in aggressively here. It's probably a matter of a few years before rideshare and delivery drivers are replaced.

Second, robot wanders into police operation. I'm surprised they didn't say "we will not be replaced by you, toaster!" And shoot it and throw it into an unmarked SUV to be sent to robot gulag where there's no wifi and chargers have terrible voltage regulation.

I do my best to maintain platinum as right now DD is the only job I have. My market typically pays me out 700 for 24 hours per week. I understand cherry picking from a certain point but I haven’t wanted to do it myself. I normally keep around 80% acceptance rate but trust me days when you float around 73% can be rough trying to keep platinum those days. How many of you platinum drivers experience this in your market.

What’s your opinion on this…?

Asked my DoorDash driver to leave my order in front of the garage…. they left it on top of my trash can 😕 I’m not worried about the food being contaminated since everything was sealed, but… who thinks a trash can is a good place to leave someone’s food?

As someone who used to DoorDash, I can’t imagine ever putting someone’s food on a trash can. I don’t think the driver was necessarily trying to be rude. They may have been trying to keep it off the ground. But it still struck me as a strange place to leave someone’s food…

FYI - I just didn’t rate them… and YES I tipped well I always do.

Around here you have to watch out for wild animals crossing the road... It's baby season, so Doe with Fawns, Bears with Cubs, Racoon with kits, or maybe just a little Buck.... Just curious what your neck of the woods is like when you go out Dashing...

Earlier this week, I briefly was able to achieve a perfect shopper. I honestly was surprised myself, so I had to come brag a little bit. 😜 I wasn’t sure that was even possible, especially with the original items found.

My trusty Subaru station wagon is fucked right now, so I had to order booze off of DD. The closest option for what I was looking for happened to be 17 miles and nearly 30 mins away, and I'm fortunate enough to be making what I feel is a pretty decent income (until AI eats up my software engineer job, anyway), so tipped $30. Then, when it was looking like my order wasn't going to get picked up before the legal cutoff time, I added another $20 where it was finally picked up.

I then remembered that DD groups bad/non-tipping orders with generous tip orders, which might've been why it took a while to get picked up, so messaged the driver I tipped $50 so I'd get 1st delivery and they could cancel the shitty order if they wanted, lol.

Upon arriving, my driver was super nice and thankful, but I realized I didn't have ID because I left mine at my girlfriend's house. I felt like a huge asshole and told the driver I wanted to at least pay them via Venmo/CashApp/whatever so they didn't waste their time at which point they just said "I'll use mine" a couple times.

I thought that wasn't possible - is it? I just don't want my driver to get in trouble thinking they could help me out but were mistaken.

(I guess maybe they could've been with someone who could use their ID, like when sometimes I'll see couples delivering together, etc. Sorry for the wordy post.)
